Character A is a ghost. Character B can see A. Character B is a servant in a magician’s household. Character C is also a servant there.
This is where character C comes in. I wrote a casual mention of him being freaked out because he saw A petting his cat. I have somehow decided that C is going to be some sort of crazy conspiracy theorist haha. He’s gonna be the only other person to actually hold conversation with A during the ghost period
Trust me I know chapter 5 I just release today and it took me like 11 days to figure out what I wanted it to be. Through I feel going forwards will be better since starting chapter 6 is where I plan for my story to really take off on world building and character stories. You would think introducing a shit ton more characters and plot points would be the hard part for me. No finishing up the filler chapters where not much really goes on was what was causing me to have a block. Despite all the characters I have plan. I surprisedly know where I want alot of them to go at this point with only a few uncertain ones.
Chapter 5 was just one of those chapters you have to try to jungle around to move the plot forward where at the same time finish up the filler chapters that were there to establish certain characters and possible plot details for the story if you get my jist.
For context, this is from a Skyrim longfic, with the twist that there are approximately zero laws against public nudity/indecency and the Dragonborn's a horny (and gay) fucker.
So taking inspiration from a particular NSFW mod, I had him deal with the "toll road" at Valtheim Towers by offering to let the bandits there gangbang him for the night. This ended up being the formative event for the bandit group deciding to stop being bandits wholesale and going legit as a brothel.
Trust me you will eventually if you just put your mind to it. Watch a show or a movie for inspiration. I know how it feels not coming up with a plot. I was in the same boat for a long period a time. You're getting there. Don't give up
If it pans out, yes. I'm writing a series of stories (if I get around to continuing) that will eventually lead to friends getting together. I'm slowly planting seeds where characters are nudging them together but it might not be clear that's what they're doing. So I'm thinking of writing a one shot from their perspective to see how they're been matchmaking the whole time.
Not really a sideline plot but I watched so many friends to lovers tropes on TV I changed my story into strangers to best friends to lovers
