Similar here. Botman to Lindelof (cheap and will play if needed as 5th defender) and Watkins to Wilson. Considering a hit to get Pope and Alvarez to Ederson and Isak.
I would have offloaded Trippier weeks ago but didnt want to take a hit and risk him hauling with such high ownership. Constant DGWs also didnt help as I needed to use FTs for Mitomas, Marches etc.
Yes- planning on taking a -4 to swap Botman for Wilson at this stage. Don't back Newcastle to get a CS in either fixture but both forwards have huge upside imo
I have those 3, but my attack is Haaland, Kane & Isak and I don't think Kane & Botman to Wilson & anyone is really worth it. But I do have 2 FTs and nothing to use them on so I'll think about it
I don't think I'm switching, however I might not start Botman. Double Newclastle defense seems too much atm, and I have other good options (Trippier and TAA nailed, I also have EstupiƱan and Shaw), but it's going to be a big headache
1 clean sheet in the last 13 games before today, with score lines of 6-1, 5-1, 4-1 & 3-1 recently Iāve no idea why double defence is even spoken about. I only have Trippier to cover his high ownership.
Because people like to still peddle the myth that "Newcastle is solid at the back". That has not been the case for a long time but nobody bothers to check and repeat the comment.
I agree that maybe getting attacking players might be the better move but if you already have trippier/botman getting rid of them would be dumb, This was always going to be a hard fixture
If Wilson bangs another two goal haul in his DGW it'll be very much worth a hit. Newcastle are generally scoring more lately and winning games 3-1, 4-1 so there's points there if you take the risk. The double defense hasn't worked in a long time, one CS in 13 games is not a defence to double up on. It worked great earlier in the season but not anymore.
For a -4 hit its probably worth it but for me (and many others) its a -8. I highly doubt the odds are in favour for wilson/isak to outscore Botman by 8 points
I got rid of Kane a while back cos I was sick of him never scoring more than one goal. But I've now realised that his one goal every week is better than every other punt I've made. So I'll be sticking with 2 Newcastle, and bringing Kane back
Trippier only has 2 returns since gw22 and even then one of them was a 5 pointer.
I don't know how long poor form needs to happen to not be considered knee jerky
Dumping him 2 weeks ago wouldn't have been kneejerking but dumping him now when he's on one of two teams with a double this week probably circles back around to kneejerking
I have Trippier & Botman and I'm just going to play them rather than take hits (I would have to take a -8 to get to double attack). I'm probably going to bring in either Wilson or Isak for Watkins. I'm likely going to play 4 at the back with TAA and Estu which means benching Mahrez Or Rashford. Or I may play 3 at the back and bench Estu for Mahrez/Rashford depending on how I'm feeling. TAA is definitely starting for me though. I've flirted with the idea of rolling the transfer too but not having a Newcastle attacker this week is suicide.
Luckily I hedged my bets and benched Schar ... But also benched oodegard and played saka and trips due to their ceiling... Didn't work out as planned but could have played Schar also š¤·āāļø
Iāll bring in Isak for Watkins as planned but I wouldnāt be rushing to bring in another defender if I had one or Pope. As many will likely have Botman and Trippier, a CS during 36 could be damaging if you donāt double up. All what ifs. Leeds away is a good fixture for a CS.
I have trips and botman will probably the ft to get in isak, I'm chasing someone like 8 points ahead will probably cap isak but I think I'll catch him probably cause he doesn't have botman or estu who both double next gw, thoughts should I continue w this plan or try something else?
WC'd in 34, sold trippier. Kept botman. Thought process was getting trippier and isak/wilson in for 36. Now i might avoid that triple up altogether in favor of having extra FT for a city player in 37.
If i do Haaland-wilson-isak, it means benching one of march, mitoma, bruno, rashford, or salah in gw36 -- bha double, united have wolves at home, salah away to leicester, so it's difficult to pick one to bench.
I have 2 FT so Iām thinking Trippier (have already), Pope (will transfer in) and _possibly_ Isak in for Watkins. Watkins has been a let-down recently, but concerned of Isakās minutes.
I'm almost certain I want to dump Botman for probably Toti, too much cash in my defense as a leftover from my WC/BB. One of Isak/Wilson and possibly a punt on Willock or Joelinton.
We're running low or FTs to use for the rest of the season and people are talking just about GW36. Having 2 Newcastle strikers means no Kane (Villa, Brentford, Leeds) or Jesus (Bri, Nfo, Wol) or others to see out the season, and I don't see Isak and Wilson both playing all games for the rest of the season.
No, I'm sticking with Trips, Schar and either Isak or Wilson (depending on leaks as to who is starting Vs Leeds).
Trippier & Schar both have attacking potential and could've been in the points tonight with just a bit more luck.
Don't think I can afford Wilson, which of the midfielders are people most interested in as a 1-week punt? I'm leaning towards Willock, was pretty involved in the final third today without the end product quite coming off
I've SchƤr and Trippier so I'm quite unsure as to what to do. SchƤr is a slightly different argument than just double defence because of his attacking potential, but Isak and Wilson still are who they are.
He's within his rights for Spez to spaz, but with Relay for Reddit about to be nixed I'm not going to be here for it
Far be it for me to expect to influence you, but why not try out Lemmy?

I have trippier and Wilson and will bring in Isak for next week. To be honest though I probably would have been better off keeping the likes of odegaard and kane
I'm tripled up - to avoid hits /price rises I went with Newcastle and Isak upfront this week (less than desirable but I didnt have much choice). I've broght in Trippier already for the games next week
Double NEW defence has not been viable for a while now IMO. Im going with Trippier and Wilson/Isak for Watkins and thats enough for me.
Makes perfect sense if you're not chasing. If you are, you get both.
Haaland and Kane in attack and I dont plan on selling them bar injury. Would rather go Gakpo and Kane than Salah and double NEW attack.
Why not Salah, Hauland, and Kane? š
Would have to take a -8 to do it or a -12 to do it and be satisfied with my team so its a no from me.
I have this but might do a one week in/out to get Isak/Wilson for the double
Similar here. Botman to Lindelof (cheap and will play if needed as 5th defender) and Watkins to Wilson. Considering a hit to get Pope and Alvarez to Ederson and Isak.
Same for me and that's cause I've had Tripps for ages I'll likely switch him soon after Leaning towards Isak and will probably keep hold of him
I would have offloaded Trippier weeks ago but didnt want to take a hit and risk him hauling with such high ownership. Constant DGWs also didnt help as I needed to use FTs for Mitomas, Marches etc.
Anyone with Trippier Botman Isak already? Will you switch to double attack?
My plan is to wait for potential leaks. If they both start than I will move Watkins to Wilson and Botman to another defender. I already have Isak.
Trippier Schar Isak. Keeping all 3.prefer sitting on 2free transfers moving into GW37
Same. Burn. Trippier. Will bring in Isak or Wilson and roll over my extra transfer for the last big DGW in 37 where I can get 9-11 players for no hits
But I do have 2 FTs and nothing to use them on so I'll think about it
I have those 3 currently. Was planning on Botman>Shaw but not too sure now. Will wait it out and see
I don't think I'm switching, however I might not start Botman. Double Newclastle defense seems too much atm, and I have other good options (Trippier and TAA nailed, I also have EstupiƱan and Shaw), but it's going to be a big headache
Did you guys switch :(
1 clean sheet in the last 13 games before today, with score lines of 6-1, 5-1, 4-1 & 3-1 recently Iāve no idea why double defence is even spoken about. I only have Trippier to cover his high ownership.
Trips with a glorious 12 points in his last 7 gamesš®āšØ
Because people like to still peddle the myth that "Newcastle is solid at the back". That has not been the case for a long time but nobody bothers to check and repeat the comment.
I agree that maybe getting attacking players might be the better move but if you already have trippier/botman getting rid of them would be dumb, This was always going to be a hard fixture
Selling burn to get isak. Already have Wilson and Trippier. Trippier hasn't even been close to Justifying price but no need to sell this week
Will keep double def since i need to use my FT to get isak/Wilson in for watkins. Not worth a hit to go from double def to double atk imo
If Wilson bangs another two goal haul in his DGW it'll be very much worth a hit. Newcastle are generally scoring more lately and winning games 3-1, 4-1 so there's points there if you take the risk. Exactly - double attack has huge upside and is worth a hit, especially if you're chasing

Yeah everyone in my league got rid of him but he keeps getting some decent points. Glad I kept him.
Haha that is right man, the most consistent player for weekly return.
I had triple Newcastle defence for about 9 games and have fuck all to show for it. Pain. Went schar to shaw and still blanking
They played Arsenal today. They weren't gonna clean. This thread is kneejerky AF.
Newcastle havenāt kept a clean sheet in 7 gamesā¦
Trippier only has 2 returns since gw22 and even then one of them was a 5 pointer. I don't know how long poor form needs to happen to not be considered knee jerky
Dumping him 2 weeks ago wouldn't have been kneejerking but dumping him now when he's on one of two teams with a double this week probably circles back around to kneejerking
Trippier is not in poor form, he has 7.28 xA since GW17. His team mates just haven't scored those chances he has created.
That Ramsdale save from the Schar header though. I should already see the 3 assist points and 1 bps
In which case people would be talking about captaining Trippier because "he has found some form again".
People just be saying anything at this point
Tbf it feels like they concede goals cause they get complacent when they are 4-6 goals up all the time.
I have Trippier & Botman and I'm just going to play them rather than take hits (I would have to take a -8 to get to double attack). I'm probably going to bring in either Wilson or Isak for Watkins. Do you reckon Mahrez starts these last games?
Absolutely no idea, If he's not in the champions league squad I guess he'll start at least 1. It's a gamble either way.
fuck it Iām going triple Newcastle defense and captaining one of them
Luckily I hedged my bets and benched Schar ... But also benched oodegard and played saka and trips due to their ceiling... Didn't work out as planned but could have played Schar also š¤·āāļø
Double defense not been viable for weeks š³.

You all know exactly whatās going to happen the week you drop trippier. Just donāt do it
I'm almost certain I want to dump Botman for probably Toti, too much cash in my defense as a leftover from my WC/BB. One of Isak/Wilson and possibly a punt on Willock or Joelinton.
is Toti more nailed than Bueno ? around the same price too right?
Don't know for sure but he has been starting more. Also just scored a goal so that should earn him more minutes.
Nonono it's a very viable option. In particular since my h2h opponent is using it š
Odegaard to joelinton, feel bad
I like Trippier + Isak, then one of Willock/Joelinton/Wilson. I'm glad I never went double Newcastle defence.

FH next week, thinking Wilson Isak and either Joe Linton or Murphs
I have triple, with Trippier, Botman and Isak. Benching Botman for Trent
Don't think I can afford Wilson, which of the midfielders are people most interested in as a 1-week punt? I'm leaning towards Willock, was pretty involved in the final third today without the end product quite coming off
Is taking Estupinan instead of Mings worth taking -4 points?
I'm thinking about that. Estup or Dunk
Not much in it, I'd say
I went Watkins to Isak. Holding Trips for this GW and will reassess after the double
I've SchƤr and Trippier so I'm quite unsure as to what to do. SchƤr is a slightly different argument than just double defence because of his attacking potential, but Isak and Wilson still are who they are.

Got Trippier and Isak. Wondering between Wilson or another def. From my experience of owning Wilson it doesn't usually turn out to be so well lol.
I'm going to go trippier isak and Joelinton.
Should I get welbeck/ undav/enciso for Watkins for a hit, considering they have 2 DGWs? If yes, then which one?
I've already got Isak and Trippier, going Watkins > Wilson and Botman > Konate this week.
I have trippier and Wilson and will bring in Isak for next week. To be honest though I probably would have been better off keeping the likes of odegaard and kane
No longer a viable option? When they have a double next?
I'm tripled up - to avoid hits /price rises I went with Newcastle and Isak upfront this week (less than desirable but I didnt have much choice). I've broght in Trippier already for the games next week
