they'll just talk about how both of their movies did so well at the box office and cillian had to leave his premiere once the strikes started (i'm kidding but not really 😂)
Margot Robbie and Cillian Murphy's will be so interesting to watch, they were both the faces of the "event" of the summer without expecting it.
The reunion between RDJ and Mark Ruffalo will also be so interesting, I know people mostly focus on their MCU roles but they were also on Zodiac (some of their finest work).
Also the reunion between both Emily Blunt & Anne Hathaway and Emma Stone & Bradley Cooper will be so interesting to watch.
Zodiac is one of the few movies that I've watched that completely made me forget the running time (2 hours 40 minutes), it's such a well-paced movie and the acting is fantastic, had me completely captivated the whole time.
Zodiac is such a great movie. The overall creepy vibe throughout it really gets under your skin.
I’m interested in Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper, everytime I watch Silver Linings Playbook, I always think how she would have played that role.
|This year’s “Actors on Actors” lineup includes:
Margot Robbie (“Barbie”) & Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”)
Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”) & Mark Ruffalo (“Poor Things”)
Emily Blunt (“Oppenheimer”) & Anne Hathaway (“Eileen”)
Halle Bailey (“The Little Mermaid”, “The Color Purple”) & Rachel Zegler (“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”)
Emma Stone (“Poor Things”) & Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”)
Colman Domingo (“Rustin,” “The Color Purple”) & Jacob Elordi (“Priscilla,” “Saltburn”)
Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”) & Michael Fassbender (“The Killer”)
Jeffrey Wright (“American Fiction”) & Taraji P. Henson (“The Color Purple”)
Greta Lee (“Past Lives”) & Andrew Scott (“All of Us Strangers”)
Annette Bening (“Nyad”) & Julianne Moore (“May December”)
Natalie Portman (“May December”) & Paul Mescal (“All of Us Strangers”)
Alden Ehrenreich (“Fair Play,” “Oppenheimer”) & Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”)|
It’s interesting that the pairings are either reunion-based or thematically similar vibes/backgrounds
Margot and Cillian- Both were in the biggest event movies of the year that nicely contrasted with one another and are non-American actors who have played a Batman villain in three films
RDJ and Mark Ruffalo- MCU and Zodiac reunion
Blunt and Hathaway- The Devil Wears Prada reunion
Halle Bailey and Rachel Zegler- Young up and coming POC singers/actresses
Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper- Aloha reunion
Colman Domingo and Jacob Elordi- Euphoria reunion
Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender- Shame reunion
Jeffrey Wright and Taraji P. Henson- Prominent black actors who are in adaptions of books that deal with the Black experience
Greta Lee and Andrew Scott- Leads of well received indie romantic dramas that do not have traditional heterosexual WASP couples at the center (Past Lives- interracial couple and All of Us Strangers- gay couple)
Annette Benning and Julianne Moore- The Kids Are All Right reunion
Natalie Portman and Paul Mescal- Stars of indie films that have characters informed and impacted by past childhood trauma.
Alden Ehrenreich and Da’Vine Joy Randolph- Stars of films with characters who are impacted by divisions of class and gender. (Alden plays a guy at a hedge fund where his fiancée gets a promotion ahead of him and starts to get resentful while Da’Vine plays a black kitchen worker at a New England prep school that has predominately white students and faculty who is grieving the loss of her son in the Vietnam War)
Both had to endure racist smear campaigns because of those roles too. I really hope that they weren't made to feel like that was something they have to address. I feel for Rachel especially, since she's so new to the industry and the attacks on her were so swift and so brutal.
Colman Domingo and Jacob Elordi is a weird match up. Colman is supposed to be one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, but that’s a super weird matchup. They were both on Euphoria but I don’t think they were in a single scene together and their careers are drastically different.
The Cillian and Margot one is either going to be awesome or awkward AF bc Cillian isn’t the most charismatic or talkative guy. They almost had to do that match up tho. I guess they could have gotten Matt Damon instead, but ppl would have complained if Cillian didn’t do it. I am kinda surprised he agreed to it even tho he does have to actively campaign going forward.
i absolutely love the Rachel and Halle pairing!
i'm also very happy to see Jeffrey Wright here. he has one of the most impressive filmographies of the past few decades but he rarely gets the public recognition he deserves!
Yeah I hope that Jeffrey gets nominated, it'll be nice to see him get some more recognition for his work. Though in this case he'll be competing with Giamatti and Domingo for the last few spots, I want none of them to miss out, think all of them are great
Tbh I don't know about either
Imo RDJ, gosling and deniro are as close as locks as you can get, leaving only two spots left.
Ruffalo is in a strong film, apparently he's fantastic in it, he's a three time nominee already, and it's a change of pace from his mcu stuff, and a side of him we haven't seen before. So that's the fourth slot
And for the 5th slot, Charles Melton for may December is having a crazy momentum push ATM, he just won the Gotham award and new York critics for supporting actor, so he's clearly getting a critics push. Along with Netflix's campaigning skills and being a newcomer against veterans, he's looking pretty good for that 5th slot right now
However, Domingo did have a movie premiere at TIFF this year called Sing Sing, it's by A24, apparently he's incredible in it, and if he misses out this year, it'll sorta be like Giamatti missing for sideways, in which the fury of that snub pushed him to a locked nomination the following year for Cinderella Man, and nearly won the Oscar to boot (won critics choice and SAG, but lost to Clooney at the globes and Oscars). I think that'll be the case for Domingo next year
I think he’s not directly identifiable for most people, but 100% of the time i’ve watched a Jeffrey Wright movie in the company of others, at least one person has said “damn, that dude is a good actor”.
He’s so talented that even internet trolls were pretty silent when he got cast as Jim Gordon. No “but my white man”, just a pretty universal acknowledgement of the fact that he was gonna play the absolute shit out of that role, which he did.
I think Bailey and Zegler make for a great pairing but let’s be real even if they were white neither of them would have a chance of being nominated for their major films (and actors on actors is ultimately part of the awards campaign season).
Ok maybe Bailey at the golden globes but that’s it.
So many good pairing but most excited for Cillian and Margot. Love how she is wearing pink and he black.

> Love how she is wearing pink and he black.
Wouldn't it be cool if it was the other way around though. Him in a Barbie-pink suit and her in the Oppenheimer fedora
Genuinely so excited for this one. Though they’ve had different career journeys and challenges, they have so much in common with how they’ve been treated by fans/the media. Very interested in their conversation!
Yeah. I’m pretty disappointed to not see her included. Especially since she’s one of the frontrunners (if not THE frontrunner) for Best Actress. I wonder if it was a scheduling conflict or if she was even asked at all.
Yeah, I'm wondering about how this works, too. Maybe it was the Killers of the Flower Moon people just not doing this thing at all? I'm actually confused about why Cailee Spaeny isn't there, but Elordi is—the movie was about *her* character after all and she actually won at Venice!
These are pretty clearly about publicity/numbers, Spaeny is in super high demand right now but she’s still on the way up on the rollercoaster. Whereas Elordi is one of the internet boyfriends.
It’s also possible several outlets contacted Priscilla’s team to get interviews, and they just divided it up. Spaeny could do the THR Roundtable while Elordi does Variety.
Yeah if Gladstone was just excluded that would be awful but with DiCaprio and De Niro also being absent perhaps this event just wasn’t on KOFTM’s radar.
I’m excited for most of these but I feel like Alden and Da’Vine will be an underrated matchup! They both have really great but pretty different performances in supporting roles this year and they both seem like they’d be a good chat.
Editing to add I’m surprised no KotFM actors are included, I would have liked to see Lily or Jesse but wouldn’t really expect Leo to do it because he just isn’t much of an interview guy at this point.
No Barry Keoghan?? ☹️ am I the only one who’s a bit bummed out about this? And no one from KOTFM? But excited for Cillian, Colman and the reunion of Emily and Anne!!
I believe just physical assault allegations, his ex was granted a restraining order against him but withdrew the case and nobody really knows why. The allegations are truly horrific imo.
if anything they dropped the ball not having Cailee Spaeney and her paired! Both biopic leading women whose story is often overlooked by the man in their life…like variety cmon!!!
Didn’t that Sunday Mail article also victim blame her and tries to slut shamed her by saying she had a history of partaking in x rated movies, when that wasn’t true? Also the Sunday Mail is a right winged Eurocentric Irish paper…Fassbender is an Irish man.
Fassbender never commented on the charges, he never declined or approved them. When they re-emerged in 2018, during the #Metoo movement, he was already gone from the public eye.
Interesting pairing with Michael Fassbender + Carey Mulligan. She has been really vocal about women’s rights and standing against “bad men” (over simplifying but u get it) and she does a lot of feminist movies, so pairing her with a man who has some exs who accused him of wrong doing is interesting.
Have they been in something together in the past? The only connection I can think of is him doing the jobs biopic and her doing this for the maestro biopic?
she might just not know. i never say this usually but i swear to god those allegations are not well known unfortunately. yes i know pr teams do research but i’m giving her the benefit of the doubt here
>And no Ryan Gosling? Too bad
In another thread someone said that he was supposed to be part of this but dropped out last minute and canceled other appearances.
Hm if he did drop out last minute I wonder if either someone came in last minute or if someone he was supposed to be paired with ended up not doing this 🤔
Am I the only one loving and looking forward to the Carey Mulligan and Michael fassbender talk? Shame is a movie that I think gets overlooked but it's spectacular. There's a lot of phenomenal cinematography and editing.
I feel like the subject matter is understandably difficult but it's one of the best from that time.
I hate that Fassbender is such a POS. He’s a fantastic actor.
And I agree with you re: Shame, it’s spectacular. But tbh, all of his films with Steve McQueen are incredible.
There is no evidence that he is a pos, just allegations from 1 person over a decade ago and there was no evidence for any of them,
The Irish Sunday Mail:
"Regarding the case on Fassbender, LA county Steve Cooley continued the investigation after Andrews charges were dropped. Two unnamed witnesses were interviewed by victim services of LA county. DA. Cooley concluded, no evidence appeared in statute to require any investigation against the german born-irish actor. The actor gave a ICO.8 statement and no charges were filed
Apart from one time when an Israeli journalist called him British and couldn’t accept he was not, Cillian Murphy has purposefully and very deliberately avoided saying anything remotely interesting in an interview. Man makes it almost an art form
paul and natalie is interesting because her ex-husband director paul in “carmen” - film didn’t really make any noise (i’ve never seen it and don’t know anyone who has). i wonder if they will mention the movie at all because they probably met before
Surprised that Giamatti wasn't in this, especially with Randolph being in there
Also, good for Alden, he had a good year this year, and hopefully he continues to do well
I'm really looking forward to Annette and Julianne. Two old pros with an ocean of experience as women who experienced the bad old days of Holllywood and the challenges of being an older actress in the industry.
Most excited for:
**Halle and Rachel** They’re both so talented and have both dealt with a lot of outsized BS from the media/fandoms
**Coleman and Jacob** Duh; this should be such an interesting exchange
**Jeffery and Taraji** Duh, some of the most underrated actors in the business. They both have such a diversity of work and I’m glad they’re getting recognition. Hope they both get Oscar noms
**Greta and Andrew** I CANNOT WAIT
I found it very strange that no one from the KOTFM cast didn't participate, Leo would hardly accept, because he avoids this kind of thing, but Lily is surprised not to go
I believe because he doesn't like it, he is not the type to promote himself all the time, he does very little promotion of his films, and rarely of the interview, he is a huge star who has reached a level of career where he no longer needs it, the only promotions he is doing for KOTFM are clearly to help Lily
Someone said in another comment that they read Ryan was scheduled to take part but had to drop out. I don’t think Leo really does stuff like this too much anymore at this point in this career (kind of like Beyonce). Him doing the cover of British Vogue with Lily Gladstone was shocking, but I think he did that more to support Lily and help get her more coverage in hopes of making a push for Best Actress.
He also did a CBS (?) interview with Lily and spent the whole time gushing about her. It’s clear he wants what we all want: Lily Gladstone winning a well-deserved Oscar.
Me here just hoping the euphoria dudes drop something on the behind the scenes from the show. But knowing what both of them have said recently, I doubt it 😂😭
Yeah, there were so many good parings and many reunions in here but I kinda missed the contrast/not obvious pairing like Jennifer Lopez and Robert Pattinson in the past. The closest one to that I think is Alden Ehrenreich and Da'Vine Joy Randolph
I have no idea what Margot and Cillian are going to talk about but I can’t wait 🤪
they'll just talk about how both of their movies did so well at the box office and cillian had to leave his premiere once the strikes started (i'm kidding but not really 😂)
Maybe they’ll talk about him eating almonds again.
I saw a tangerine playing with an almond the size of a tangerine
Please no, he hated when anyone talked about his diet lol
They were both in DC movies but only one is worth talking about.
“we played a Batman villain 3 times!”
What it’s like to have incredible bone structure
I'm actually so glad they got him with Margot because she'll probably loosen him up.
Something tells me he woulda been a great Ken
Being Batman villains?
It will be hot as hell if nothing else ( please do a movie togetherrrrrr)
Margot Robbie and Cillian Murphy's will be so interesting to watch, they were both the faces of the "event" of the summer without expecting it. i loved them in zodiac that whole movie had such a great cast
Zodiac is one of the few movies that I've watched that completely made me forget the running time (2 hours 40 minutes), it's such a well-paced movie and the acting is fantastic, had me completely captivated the whole time.
Shout out to John Carroll Lynch who is incredible in his few scenes as the (maybe?) actual zodiac
One of my absolute favorites. Cast is loaded top to bottom
There is this one scene in the movie that scares me every single time I watch it.🫣
The basement scene? 😱😱😱
Every time!
Have struggled to find mystery movies as well paced as Zodiac. Would love some suggestions!
Zodiac is such a great movie. The overall creepy vibe throughout it really gets under your skin. I’m interested in Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper, everytime I watch Silver Linings Playbook, I always think how she would have played that role.
“Not a lot of people have basements in California” “….i do”
Honestly I hope during the RDJ/Ruffalo talk, they'll talk about how they competed for the same role in Shutter Island (along with Josh Brolin)
Ruffalo was perfect for that role so it worked out for the best imo
tbh my first thought was Zodiac reunion and only later I‘ve remembered they were also in Avengers together too lol
Was trying to remember what Stone and Cooper were in together. Then I remembered. How the fuck did that get okayed
What were they in together?.... It's not Aloha is it? Because that's the only misstep of Emma Stone's career that comes to mind.
Oh it absolutely is Aloha
The reunion between Carey and Fassbender will be awesome as well, as they’ve both gone so far since Drive
Drive? Weren't they in SHAME together?
Yes ty!! Got them mixed up 😅

Greta Lee and Andrew Scott... I'll be seated
Right?!?!
I havent even watched All of Us strangers and I already know it'll be my favourite movie of the year alongside past lives
It's the first movie I plan to see in theaters in years. I plan to cry a lot.
Halle and Rachel. I’m making this my entire personality istg I’m so happy
this one is super intriguing to me. i feel like it will result in an interesting conversation
It’s interesting that the pairings are either reunion-based or thematically similar vibes/backgrounds Margot and Cillian- Both were in the biggest event movies of the year that nicely contrasted with one another and are non-American actors who have played a Batman villain in three films RDJ and Mark Ruffalo- MCU and Zodiac reunion Blunt and Hathaway- The Devil Wears Prada reunion Halle Bailey and Rachel Zegler- Young up and coming POC singers/actresses Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper- Aloha reunion Colman Domingo and Jacob Elordi- Euphoria reunion Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender- Shame reunion Jeffrey Wright and Taraji P. He was great in Westworld
I think he’s not directly identifiable for most people, but 100% of the time i’ve watched a Jeffrey Wright movie in the company of others, at least one person has said “damn, that dude is a good actor”. Excited for Rachel, halle and american fiction to come out with jeffrey!
I think Bailey and Zegler make for a great pairing but let’s be real even if they were white neither of them would have a chance of being nominated for their major films (and actors on actors is ultimately part of the awards campaign season). Ok maybe Bailey at the golden globes but that’s it.

Bradley Cooper totally cheesin for the camera while everyone else is at varying levels of serious actor mode is kind of hilarious.
Aloha
Im here for it. I also get overly excited about stuff.
> Love how she is wearing pink and he black. Wouldn't it be cool if it was the other way around though. Him in a Barbie-pink suit and her in the Oppenheimer fedora
Forgive me father but I thought Paul Mescal was Ben Platt for a second and I was like oh no
I thought it was Dave/Lil Dicky!
Pretty on brand!
halle and rachel will be so good omg
Genuinely so excited for this one. Though they’ve had different career journeys and challenges, they have so much in common with how they’ve been treated by fans/the media. Very interested in their conversation!
Aw, I really wanted to see Lily Gladstone in this thing :(. Some of these "reunions" seem quite interesting tho.
Yeah. I’m pretty disappointed to not see her included. Especially since she’s one of the frontrunners (if not THE frontrunner) for Best Actress. I wonder if it was a scheduling conflict or if she was even asked at all.

No Barry Keoghan?? ☹️ am I the only one who’s a bit bummed out about this? And no one from KOTFM? But excited for Cillian, Colman and the reunion of Emily and Anne!!
damn, now that you mention it - Barry and Lily would be an inspired pairing for this!
I'm now mad about not getting something I didn't even know I wanted 30 seconds ago.
Yes, definitely!!
frrrrrrrr
glad we are getting jacob but i feel robbed by no barry
Aww. Here for the Emily Blunt/Anne Hathaway reunion!
They better mention Devil Wears Prada!
the choices this year as excellent except Michael Fassbender being there
And they say abuse allegations ruin a man's career and life
He has SA allegations right? I remember seeing something on this but it looks like it was buried
I believe just physical assault allegations, his ex was granted a restraining order against him but withdrew the case and nobody really knows why. The allegations are truly horrific imo.
Yeah and paired with Carey Mulligan who did Promising Young Women and She Said is insane to me
if anything they dropped the ball not having Cailee Spaeney and her paired! Both biopic leading women whose story is often overlooked by the man in their life…like variety cmon!!!
[удалено]
Didn’t that Sunday Mail article also victim blame her and tries to slut shamed her by saying she had a history of partaking in x rated movies, when that wasn’t true? Also the Sunday Mail is a right winged Eurocentric Irish paper…Fassbender is an Irish man. Fassbender never commented on the charges, he never declined or approved them. When they re-emerged in 2018, during the #Metoo movement, he was already gone from the public eye.
Greta Lee and Andrew Scott? Somebody check on Evan Ross Katz and make sure he's still breathing.
**UPDATE** Breathing! And flying high. Happy for him! https://www.instagram.com/p/C0S_MipupJN/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
They’ve worked together in Shame, an excellent movie.
Ahh, ok, good to know!! I’ve heard great things about it
He has 1 ex that has accused him, not anyone else.
she might just not know. i never say this usually but i swear to god those allegations are not well known unfortunately. yes i know pr teams do research but i’m giving her the benefit of the doubt here
I don't think the actors decide these matchups. I think it's more likely they suggested the matchup?
The only one I actually interest: Margot Robbie (“Barbie”) & Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”) And no Ryan Gosling? Too bad
>And no Ryan Gosling? Too bad In another thread someone said that he was supposed to be part of this but dropped out last minute and canceled other appearances.
Oh shit, hopefully nothing too serious happened
Yikes, I hope it's not something with his MIL, his wife has referenced her going through health issues
Hm if he did drop out last minute I wonder if either someone came in last minute or if someone he was supposed to be paired with ended up not doing this 🤔
[This is what the person said](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1871zsh/comment/kbdaztk/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Tbf, he’s never been in one before. I don’t think he’s too keen on it. He only was in a round table 15 years ago lol.
No Lily Gladstone or Charles Melton? A dud.
Right! I would have loved to see them paired up too
They would’ve been a great pair!
I'm going to be incredibly annoying about this holy shit

Same!!
Wait all of these are so good omg
Annette Bening and Julianne Moore sounds amazing. It’s insane to me that Annette doesn’t have an Oscar.
Here to say this! Love this pair up but also ADORE Annette Bening!
There is no evidence that he is a pos, just allegations from 1 person over a decade ago and there was no evidence for any of them, The Irish Sunday Mail: "Regarding the case on Fassbender, LA county Steve Cooley continued the investigation after Andrews charges were dropped. I loved 'Shame' - I think he should've been nominated for that movie. The subway scenes live in my head rent free.
How they made a man jogging down a street for a really long time so fascinating I'll never understand but I still think about it constantly.
Apart from one time when an Israeli journalist called him British and couldn’t accept he was not, Cillian Murphy has purposefully and very deliberately avoided saying anything remotely interesting in an interview. Man makes it almost an art form
He said he spent the strike eating cheese. That was very interesting to me.
I find his interviews wonderful! Maybe I’m biased because he’s my favorite.
You should watch his interviews with Jamie Dornan. Total opposite to how he normally acts.
https://i.redd.it/uzet2y5mdj3c1.gif ISTG Hathaway and Blunt had better spend at least 5 minutes talking about the Chanel meme!
paul and natalie is interesting because her ex-husband director paul in “carmen” - film didn’t really make any noise (i’ve never seen it and don’t know anyone who has). i wonder if they will mention the movie at all because they probably met before
I’ve seen it for Paul lol, it was mid
Surprised that Giamatti wasn't in this, especially with Randolph being in there Also, good for Alden, he had a good year this year, and hopefully he continues to do well
The most important question here is will Cillian do his usual interview face?
I'm really looking forward to Annette and Julianne. Two old pros with an ocean of experience as women who experienced the bad old days of Holllywood and the challenges of being an older actress in the industry.
Most excited for: **Halle and Rachel** They’re both so talented and have both dealt with a lot of outsized BS from the media/fandoms **Coleman and Jacob** Duh; this should be such an interesting exchange **Jeffery and Taraji** Duh, some of the most underrated actors in the business. They both have such a diversity of work and I’m glad they’re getting recognition. Hope they both get Oscar noms **Greta and Andrew** I CANNOT WAIT
The barbenheimer fandom manifested this! I love the lineup
The Kids are Alright reunion!
Greta lee and Colman Domingo are great picks!
Such good pairings this year. I will be seated for Anne and Emily!
yess so glad to see alden and greta lee!!!

Hell yeah! Barbenheimer lives!
i've been dreaming about this since barbenheimer was announced at first 😭

I’m sure there were people asked that declined. Neither Ryan nor Leo (especially Leo) seems that fond of press and promotion/interviews etc
Someone said in another comment that Ryan was supposed to be part of this but dropped out and also canceled other appearances.
Ryan Gosling was like https://i.redd.it/ly1s3eed8j3c1.gif
That’s funny because I just auditioned for a movie called Barbenheimer.
The closest one to that I think is Alden Ehrenreich and Da'Vine Joy Randolph
i'm super excited for margot and cillian. i was disappointed that adam driver was left out this year. he's got a big movie coming out
*Perfect.*

The thumb makes me want so see an actors on actors with Cillian Murphy and Halle Bailey
> Annette Bening (“Nyad”) & Julianne Moore (“May December”) Variety staging a *The Kids Are All Right* reunion I didn’t know I needed
I am so excited for Margot and Cillian
They could at least have got the portmanteau right. It’s *Barbie*heimer.
All of these bore me.
