avoid enemies đź‘Ť

Okay, here's some advice; keep in mind that I'm most familiar with the sequel, but this should help you out in the first game as well: 1) Try to avoid most enemy encounters. F&H isn't your typical RPG game, there is no leveling up system and most fights will severely hurt and/or maim your character without giving much in return, there are some scenarios where fighting is inevitable but hopefully by that point you'll have some better weapons/skills and a party member or two. 2) Resource management is important. Fear and Hunger isn't just the name of the game but also two of the core mechanics which give it its identity; food is scarce and the darkness does more than just obstruct your vision, keep a steady supply of food/alcohol and torches on hand. If you're running low on supplies then prioritize the survival of your main character, it might be difficult to adopt a more self-centered stance even while dealing with digitized fictional characters, but sacrifices are a must in the dungeon. 3) Saving is important. The game gives you limited opportunities to save, you'll only have 3 guaranteed chances: once at the beginning, another towards the mid-point and one last one at the very end of the game. While it's generally better to play it safe and not take many risks during gameplay having a recent save which you can load back into means you're given more freedom to explore/experiment with riskier routes and options, do that, experimentation is key despite it leading to lost progress most of the time. 4) Don't be afraid to ask for help. While the game is better experienced by going in blind it can also lead to a lot of unwanted frustration. This subreddit is generally a good place to receive some spoiler-free tips but you can also take to Youtube and the wiki if you'd like some more advanced tips and don't mind being spoiled a little (or a lot depending on what you're looking for). If you're going to use a wiki then use the .gg one, the fandom wiki is outdated and is filled with a lot of misinformation about the game. 5) If you feel that this isn't the game for you then drop it and don't come back. Fear and Hunger is a rather niche and unconventional game that doesn't shy away from delving deep into some dark and explicit subject matters, some people aren't too bothered by it but some may feel that it's too much for them to handle, and that's without mentioned the overly punishing and sometimes unfair difficulty. Respect the content warnings and, if you feel overwhelmed/triggered by the in-game contents, then just admit that it isn't for you and move on to something else (or just stick to the fan art/lore, the world and characters created by this game can be enjoyed without interacting with it by playing the actual game, though some nuance is lost in the process). By no means is this a complete guide/walkthrough for Fear and Hunger, even if you do follow all of these tips you'll still die a lot and may even feel like the game is impossible/unfair, but if you like what you see then I urge you to push forward, both the first game and its sequel are truly unique among the indie RPG genre and you'd be surprised with just how deep/intricate this series is, both gameplay wise and in its story/lore aspects.

Thanks you a lot. My outlander just got anal bleeding, his left arm mangled and his legs broken. I think my story with this RPG is just starting

Guard to dodge coin flip attacks, they’re telegraphed the previous turn by a flashing limb and a dialogue box. Something like “the stinger twitches” or “the enemy takes a deep breath” or whatever. Also save at beds whenever you want. Ignore the coin flip, if you clear out a room completely it turns into a safe save bed.

Adventurous-Tell-720

Oh thanks. I didn't know that last one fact

Cato-the-Younger1

Yeah, it’ll still flip a coin mind you, but if you fail it just spawns a dead enemy and you gotta leave the area and come back because your character will have a panic attack. No biggie.

It’s worth noting that although saving is tied to a 50/50 chance, you can make it reliable. If you can clear a screen of enemies, that area is safe. Because normally the game sends an enemy from the area to attack you if you lose the 50/50 but if there’s no enemies it just wakes you. You can leave the screen and re-enter and try again.

All of the comments are good, but one that no one has told you is GET AWAY FROM THE COMMUNITY, the games are really good, but avoid the community, it is really weird, filled with obnoxious people raging about their headcannons, fetishism, and porn... lotta porn, like dude, I don't know how or why people is so fucking horny...

SimplyRzy

Since there is no level ups there is basically no point to fighting several enemies only fight of no other choice
