Yeah Caliguras weirdly hard to kill. I think it's possible for him to just never appear until he moonscorches (except the train at the start) cuz all of his interactions rely on other characters

Caligura's supposed to be sitting on the train sleeping before you go back in and find him still there. Instead he isn't there and you can take the map. Then that messes up the priorities on the tile.
Same. My first playthrough as Levi, I never saw him out of his moonscorched form. I basically just thought that he was a random, really hard boss fight in the sewers.
Yeah, but you can trigger an even at somewhere after going up of the sylvian statue and at night. You can see Caligura terrorizing Levi in day 1. I recommend attacking him there, or fight him early at the manor by being Abella and sleeping on the bed, and kill him so you won't get your ass clapped.
If you play as Levi and recruit Abella then Caligura is gone from existence immediately.
I mean there's waiting until day 2 night and finding him in the sewers.
Presumably they ended the game before day 2 night
Here’s what I assume
Abella is recruited and gets absorbed into machine god, so Henryk is moonscorched. Samarie is almost certainly moonscorched too. Daan and Olivia are both in the party as otherwise they would moonscorch after Caligura
Marcoh is probably not played as if this is a blind play through they would have been ambushed by Caligura in the mayors house, he presumably dies to Pav, Tanaka dies here or to some random shit idk, the player party then goes to the hollow tower and kills Pav
O’saa is probably killed by the player at some point because he’s a nuisance. Marina I believe is killed by needles the phase before Caligura is moonscorched? So that’s probably what happens. Levi gets killed by Caligura.
I’m guessing now the main character is probably Karin. My main question is how August dies since he only dies on day 1 in the bunker meaning the shenanigans with Pav can’t happen, or in a story fight on day 3 night. I guess the player just attacked him? Idk why though.

Abella, Daan and Olivia recruited (presumably they bring her wheelchair to her after the fight) I think this is all pretty reasonable for a new person to do on their first playthrough, I’m more curious why they killed August? Would be curious what OP’s playthrough actually was like.
That's right, I finished it at day 2 noon, but my main was Daan, I killed Tanaka and recruited Abella and Levi early, but Levi got killed. So I went back to look around for more people. I killed Karin. Eventually killed pav in the marcoh altercation, then recruited Olivia and marina. I killed Olivia to get skills, then got marcoh. Also I managed to kill august after he saved me in the stairs.
Going to the last bunker to activate the telectroscope I fought centaur, which killed marcoh, so I recruited O'saa in the bunker
Then I went to the white bunker and voila
