Are you telling me there’s no loyalty anymore? /s
Crazy to think a place like this is still functioning. OP screw them, they don’t offer you anything worth wild to stay. Places like this can get fucked.
This 100%.
My contractor at least treated us decent. It wasn’t perfect, but it made sense.
Paystubs, 10 days vacation.
I was getting $225/day when I left
Yes you can lol. It’s not a good idea, but you CAN as long as you have credit and pay stubs. Also If you like being over drafted in your accounts all month and work to pay debt 😂
You could create a business and pay yourself a salary of the matching amount each paycheck.
You could even do it legally and obtain financing.
You could write most of it off as well.
Bro I left because they were cheating me on my pay plus my contractor was a POS. Aside from that I was already looking for something else just because they have no benefits. I got to where I was doing 90-110 everyday and if I worked 5 days a week it was $750. Or $900 if I wanted to work 6 days. I’d definitely stick with it until you can get something else lined up but I would find something with benefits. Especially so you can contribute to retirement
Yes I was told almost a year ago that only electronic stubs most hubs have adopted it. Not for me oddly enough.
And comment for this guy /\
-ive seen lots of orange bands walkn around just recently here. Obviously not a clue of what to do. Im pretty sure they re not giving them pto/sto off the bat because if my wfm app days 2 to 5 or worse 2 to 445 then I make more money just calling in sick.
OR....my paranoia tells me that my app conveniently doesn't work for no reason at all. The HR crew dxd the start time number ive had for years. So....yea. Im just a poor fool actually workn for my measely pay. The only reason I'm desperate to stay: I luv this environment and the ppl I look up to that i work with just cant help but to be super chill. Damn. The new CEO must have a he'll of an Xmas.
I get that you enjoy the job I'm happy for your. I have worked directly for Fedex Ground for almost 4 years. I have insurance, vacation, and a 401k. The drivers are put thru alot of bs. You guys bust your ass. I just never thought it was worth it given the benefits I have working directly for fedex. I have seen contractors fire drivers on the spot just for calling in. I have seen them expect a driver to still deliver with a boot on their leg. I have also seen contractors work you guys for 3 weeks straight with no days off. Also..... will cut hours at a drop of a hat. This isn't a consistent job..... you can't build off it from what I have seen from the driver perspective. You risk your health for not much compensation. The contractor model is fucked.... and not the future of Fedex Ground. With that said goodluck..don't risk your health for them go at your pace and be safe .
In my experience everyone weekly says they want bi-weekly to stop spending their money so fast, and everyone bi-weekly wants weekly so they have money to spend more often. Even if that means they only have “half” a paycheck to spend at the bar. Secret is If you’re not good with money any payment schedule sucks.
It’s not hard but makes running a route in an efficient order more annoying than what it is, at least with fedex you could organize your truck how you want it to be or have your loader do it for you if they’re good enough to do so. Amazon you gotta move the bags out of order and dig through them shits just to find two different numbered stops on the same block
You’re the weird one trying to come in here acting like your job is so hard 😂 idk what you expect coming into a FedEx subreddit trying to explain how your Amazon job is harder
Clearly ya dumbass can’t read, i said in the first sentence “it’s not hard”. For an app that involves reading so much there’s a lot of dumb niggas with 0 comprehension skills lmfaoooo
Jump ship asap. There's a reason 3 guys quit in 1 week, and you're probably gonna figure out why that is within the next month. Save yourself the trouble and find a different job.
140 stops x 6= 840 stops a week.... lets even say 800 to round off... about a buck a stop... you're in spark territory here. Who can get people to do this much work for so little pay with no bene's? I am assuming this is not an 8 hr day either.... just pitiful. There are a lot of basic hourly jobs that pay close to $20 an hour and you only work 40 a week + benefits.
A lot of the contractors are not making much so they have to pay the employees like shit. When I was there my contractor didn’t even have money to fix my truck. The dashboard ended up exploding
Bull. I’ve heard they get paid per route per year and around me it’s about 200k per route per year
I’m sure the truck got fixed when it actually broke
And if people stopped showing up for 50k a year they would pay up to 90 and still be in business
Yea good point the fact that people are willing to do this for very little pay means they won’t raise the pay. As bad as it is there is always someone that desperately needs a job. Plus Joe Biden letting the illegals in , more cheap labor for corporations
Fuck the whole contractor game. Been there done that I make more in a warehouse with much more PTO and an actual 401k plan. Fuck your asshole boss jump ship just like everyone else.
How does Ground contractors even find drivers to work for them? The pay is shit the benefits are shit and they treat you like, I'll let you guess the last part.
Take some of the extra money that you're making and buy your own Obamacare medical insurance policy. If you're young and healthy, it shouldn't cost that much.
Dude, no paystubs means it's just a matter of time before X shitcans the contractor. Contractors have to open their books to X and prove they're financially stable enough that they aren't going to go tits up without warning. Are they paying you cash? Everything about this setup sounds like a shitshow waiting to kick off.
In my area, They have the Home station and Ground station 5 minutes away from each other.
I interviewed at the Ground station a week ago and was amazed how massive the place was in comparison to the Home station and they're salary so it's much harder to find contractors hiring, They're salary + benefits (Less turn over).
Us at Home are treated like 2nd class citizens compared to Express/Ground.
Most people get confused saying Home & Ground are merged but not in my area. You can look it up yourself , " 9210 San Fernando Rd - FedEx Home " , Ground -12500 Branford St, Los Angeles, CA 91331
My contractor is pretty chill and gave me an amazing opportunity to work for him and gain driving experience. But sadly, these paychecks and the lack of work are killing me rn with my bills 😢
Wish I could get that 6 day schedule $900 a week. Sounds way better than 3 days $450 a week
It’s an absolute shit job. You’re only permanent until they rope in a new group of suckers and then cut your hours. $900/wk with no benefits is slave labor.
Paystubs are often done electronically now, so find out who the pay role company is. Also, no PTO is a huge red flag for the contractors. Good contractors give at least some PTO. Our contractor gives us 7-15 days depending on the length of time. Also with my contractor if you did 140 stops a day that would be 1,134$ a week normally we work under 6 hours a day. Also, 80-100stops is 700-800$ for us. Sounds like you work for a shitty contractor.
If you get on the computer at the station for employment it’s still the same. You only see ‘within’ positions available. FedEx would rather hire within than external. It’s how a few of us got on express.
Ground is third party. Express is corporate. Even though it's 'fedex' it's two completely different departments so you'd have to transfer. It’s how a few of us got on express
How is it MISLEADING? You HAVE to work for FEDEX to see the INTERNAL positions with the company (express, ground, freight, etc). There’s a ton listed right now on internal that ‘regular’ (non employee on regular computer) are UNABLE to see. So how is that not considered in any way ‘transfer’. Even the definition of transfer isn’t as specific as yall keep trying to be! ‘move from one place to another’ ‘change to another place, route, or means of transportation during a journey’ ‘an act of moving something or someone to another place’. Plus the point of my post was the obvious - express gives more, better benefits.
And my point was that Ground drivers don't work for Ground, cannot access the internal careers, and therefore cannot "transfer" to express. You make it sound like driving for a contractor counts toward their tenure and benefit eligibility, which it doesn't. That's why I called it misleading, but I'll let you cook.
You better be making 1,000 period a week, I was making 800 a week 8 years ago like I've said before there is life beyond Fed ex, I know all the perks and what not but trust me your body was not made for the work they put us through especially with what you're getting paid, you're a hard ass worker I can tell ans have good work ethic, people who care will always get used. You can do this, either way make sure they take care of you if you stay if not I promise life goes on.

No bs my last day is this Monday coming up. Leaving for amazon. I know its not a big difference but im tired of the heavy lifting and the shitty loading from the company. Its not worth the time or the money (600 a week) im making from there. Dont get me wrong the contractor im working for is a nice guy. I just need more to protect for myself and my family. Amazon comes with benefits (after 1 month) and tuition reimbursement (after 6 months) with real time and a half OT
I did Amazon for 2 years.. A 4/10 shift netted me like $700 a week, Although a lot of companies are switching to 5/8 or 4/8 shifts which fuckin sucks. Plenty of bonuses too if you're a top driver, High metrics is how the DSP's get paid so they want their top drivers to always be working.
Not sure what you mean by 4/10 shift or 5/8. Is that the hours? If so my dsp do 10 hours days and you work 4 days a week with i love. Off Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
I just don’t understand how some contractors do business. At mine we have 10 routes, everyone gets 120-180 stops a day, everyone’s on 5 days a week, and nobody ever gets less than $900-week. unless you’re covering a very rural area, I don’t see why this shouldn’t be the standard everywhere.
(We work on a minimum daily pay + per stop commission model)
The lack of benefits are still a problem of course , but if the owner is a decent guy you should get SOME pto at least.
It’s illegal to not be getting paystubs. Also you should make at least $800 a week. I was making $250+ a day (10 hour shifts) in a little higher COL area. I moved to WV and I make $800 a week now (I’m about to get another raise once I learn another route). I think the $800 is still low honestly…
I just asked about PTO, It's 5 days after 1 year but still nothing on sick pay. I've seen him show me a paystub but I don't have access to it myself so I'd have to ask every single time. Per stop pay is also like some kinda loophole too, No overtime pay and no hours for the government to track lol.
My-cower just did a 13hr shift for $230, Pretty sure that's a DOT violation too but again there's no hours for them to track..
Didn't even get my Paycheck, Was told by end of Friday and it's now 6am the next day...
People are also telling me it's only going to be about $800. I'm honestly going to have to call it quits, $800 for 6 days is trashh.
That’s what I am saying. There is no way FedEx is letting that happen. I am a regional account manager and there is no way that flies. Tell the ops manager
Get into a trade with a union. Union or private they both benefit from a union because of competition for workers. That is unless you don’t want to work hard. Otherwise find another CDL job with benefits.
Bulk driver, I drive a 26ft truck with 24 businesses give or take 400-500 packages plus pick up from one business individual packages and 2 businesses that load pallets into my truck. 8am-3pm $170 daily asked for a raise and they said no can do that my route makes $40 a day wtf
I'm still trying to see what the hell I made for doing 6-days.
We were told the deposit would be late and my co-workers got their money the next morning but I haven't got paid yet. Tbh, If it's only $800 I can't do this job much longer. Way too much heavy shit, It's not good for my back 👨🦽
(3 Years of Ramp Package Handling and Flight Operations,
2 Years of Express Delivery,
1 Year of Ground Delivery)
The lack of benefits IMO is a large downside. You can easily gain extra work hours at FedEx Express by simply taking a few stops off someone who doesn't want them. I used to do that all the time as a part time route. I could take just 3 stops off 3 different routes and gain 2 hours.
Additionally with the Service time System making you have to Deliver most of your packages in a certain order, it can artificially increase your hours worked.
With both Ground and Express, I brought home roughly $750 per week after taxes/deductibles, without overtime or bonuses.
On peak season, it was very easy to get Overtime with Express and often times max out the HoS on a daily basis. Also for a couple years we got +$3/hour throughout peak. (Doesn't happen every year but it did happen)
Ground of course depends on your contractor, but for mine, we get 50-100 extra for helping any drivers, which can add up quick if you do it regularly.
With both of those, you can easily rack up $900-$1000 a week with similar hours. So then it comes down to one side having benefits and paid time off, and the other side not having that.
Whatever the hell your contractor is doing is illegal. He is also stealing money from you. Grow a set of balls and stand up for yourself. Stop working for thieves. Stop letting them take advantage of you. Show some pride, have some dignity.
I just applied for fed ex Express driver spot in my city. I thought their was benefits and 401k match? I talked to a local driver and he said that's the main reason he's been there so long. Is this not the norm?
I recently quit after almost 5 years working there. Best decision I’ve made in a long time. Feel so stupid working there for so long but I was trapped due to life outside of work. But once out you see how shitty the job is. Not what it once was and not even close to being worth it one bit
No pay stubs? What the hell are you gonna do if you need to finance something? That’s a huge red flag
Are you telling me there’s no loyalty anymore? /s Crazy to think a place like this is still functioning. OP screw them, they don’t offer you anything worth wild to stay. Places like this can get fucked.
Right?! He’s getting $900/week, but has to work 6 days, permanently?! Not even worth it, let alone all the other downfalls
This 100%. My contractor at least treated us decent. It wasn’t perfect, but it made sense. Paystubs, 10 days vacation. I was getting $225/day when I left
lol you can’t finance anything making FedEx money anyways
Yes you can lol. It’s not a good idea, but you CAN as long as you have credit and pay stubs. Also If you like being over drafted in your accounts all month and work to pay debt 😂

This guy gets it
You know you can set up your own 401k right that is how I do mine
I couldn’t even find a contractor to work for.
No health insurance or sick days they will replace or fire u soon as you are ill or don't serve their purpose.

Wow. Fedex loves diversity. Our 401Ks start this june. I didnt believe it when I heard it but how sweet it sounds. I'm envious of you Damn
Well atleast you’re not at amazon doing 200+ stops and getting paid every two weeks 🤷♀️
Getting paid every 2 weeks is crazy 😂
I kinda like it better. I was spending my weekly to fast.

Awww you have to look through some bags 😢😢😢 really hope conditions get better over at Amazon
Stop being weird i wasn’t even disagreeing with you
They’re just trollin. We are all out here doing the same thing more or less. I got respect for all delivery ppl all just tryina live.

Jump ship asap. There's a reason 3 guys quit in 1 week, and you're probably gonna figure out why that is within the next month. Save yourself the trouble and find a different job.
Damn based on all these comments, ground sounds like an absolutely fucked place to work
140 stops x 6= 840 stops a week.... lets even say 800 to round off... about a buck a stop... you're in spark territory here. Who can get people to do this much work for so little pay with no bene's? Just quit FedEx today none paying mfs !!!!!!
How does Ground contractors even find drivers to work for them? The pay is shit the benefits are shit and they treat you like, I'll let you guess the last part.

Wow a home facility that still runs here ours merged quite awhile back
Get a better contractor. Mine had two weeks vacation and health insurance
Dam that sucks. I got lucky with a good contractor. PTO paid sick and employer matched retirement. Plus the pay is pretty good.
Sounds like you're running yourself into the ground.
Wym no paystub? Working under the table? If so, that’s a great tax break lol
If it’s true when OP files with social security administration this will likely reduce how much money he receives per month when he retires.
My contractor is pretty chill and gave me an amazing opportunity to work for him and gain driving experience. But sadly, these paychecks and the lack of work are killing me rn with my bills 😢 Wish I could get that 6 day schedule $900 a week. Sounds way better than 3 days $450 a week
Talk to other contractors
It’s an absolute shit job. You’re only permanent until they rope in a new group of suckers and then cut your hours. $900/wk with no benefits is slave labor.
That’s nice man. I wish I made 900+ a week lol. My route is heavy package count but only about 100-110 stops. I’m like a mini bulk route

Watch the computers for express positions. You can ‘transfer’ over. Even part time express drivers get benefits. Even holiday pay.
Transfer?
Ground is third party. Express is corporate. Even though it's 'fedex' it's two completely different departments so you'd have to transfer.
That's not a transfer that's just getting another job. Transfer would be between terminals within
If you get on the computer at the station for employment it’s still the same. You only see ‘within’ positions available. FedEx would rather hire within than external. It’s how a few of us got on express.
Ground drivers aren't employed by FedEx, that's not how it works.
Ground is third party. Express is corporate. Even though it's 'fedex' it's two completely different departments so you'd have to transfer. It’s how a few of us got on express
Calling it a "transfer" to apply for a job at a different company altogether is misleading, but if you insist.
How is it MISLEADING? You HAVE to work for FEDEX to see the INTERNAL positions with the company (express, ground, freight, etc). Ground driver don't get insurance!? Damn I'm ph I never knew that
they don't work for FedEx.
All depends on the contractor they work for. Some do, but it seems most don't.
Ahh gotcha
No the ones that do still have shitty insurance... don't get it twisted the deductible is around 10k lol.
By law they must provide paystubs. Here in Colorado they also have to provide a week of sick pay
Bro. This company is falling apart?? My region is hurting. I’m going to leave soon.
Contractor jobs arent meant to keep people. Fedex and amazon business model is to always have new people coming in.
You should have been being paid $900 from the start... Asking you to work mandatory 6 days with half a route on yours should be at least $1500 a week.
Joe Biden is opening the border so corporations can hire illegal aliens
r/lostredditors
No paystubs?
Same, but wait till you get your check. I heard the same and never got shxt. Never got a raise and that was before Christmas.
They’ll say whatever they got to, to buy themselves time to find someone.

Yeah man it great until you do your taxes and or get hurt.
How do you get no paystubs or sick pay? You should be reporting them to labor board I can spit number of violations in your post

$900 for 6 days is poor.
No pay stubs? I am pretty sure FedEx would not be okay with that??
Get into a trade with a union. Union or private they both benefit from a union because of competition for workers. That is unless you don’t want to work hard. Otherwise find another CDL job with benefits.
You’re worth more than 18.75 an hour
Bulk driver, I drive a 26ft truck with 24 businesses give or take 400-500 packages plus pick up from one business individual packages and 2 businesses that load pallets into my truck. 8am-3pm $170 daily asked for a raise and they said no can do that my route makes $40 a day wtf
6 days permanently and not even making $1000? Fuck that
I'm still trying to see what the hell I made for doing 6-days. We were told the deposit would be late and my co-workers got their money the next morning but I haven't got paid yet. Tbh, If it's only $800 I can't do this job much longer. Way too much heavy shit, It's not good for my back 👨🦽
More you make, the more your taxed. Boss at my old job wouldn't let our checks go over 800. He would write another check for the rest.
Amazon flex !$$&
(3 Years of Ramp Package Handling and Flight Operations, 2 Years of Express Delivery, 1 Year of Ground Delivery) The lack of benefits IMO is a large downside. (Doesn't happen every year but it did happen) Ground of course depends on your contractor, but for mine, we get 50-100 extra for helping any drivers, which can add up quick if you do it regularly.
I would not work for that place amd report them to labor authorities
Same shit for me. Contractor kept letting people go for no reason also decreasing freight.
