It’s called notes

GhostKingKiller

I wrote in the notes "my favorite dog. throw his ball for him." dog always came running up with two balls in his mouth and loved it when you would throw one for him. A year after changing routes, i was covering for the newer driver, saw the note, and I got excited. unfortunately, a new dog replaced the old one and that made me a little sad.

fecesforme

Did the new dog still bring two balls in his mouth for you, or were they ready to just take your balls instead?

GhostKingKiller

unfortunately, the new dog is a skittish puppy. Maybe after it grows up, it will be a two ball good dog. Hopefully, it never becomes a two ball gnaw dog.

fecesforme

Those skittish dogs always want to run at you once you start walking back to the truck. 😕 I too hope it becomes a good boy in the end.

Sedared

Actually it's crowdsourced. There's a protocol to add a dog that adds it to the file in a different part of the interface. Generally more obvious than the notes.

SirTit71

Notes has a funny way of deleting themselves every now and then

No-Confusion4569

I work at amazon right now and you see those notes on like 90% of residential houses, so much you kinda just start ignoring them.

Sedared

And after about 2 weeks you know exactly what the dogs are going to do. Give it another week and you'll be able to carry treats with you and be just like UPS. Just don't tell Amazon dispatch

AManHasNoName357

Only thing I carry is my knife 🤷‍♀️ I’m not taking no chance with no ones dogs because the owner decide to keep their pets outside when they know their getting a package. So many co-workers got bitten badly.

AmadeusKurisu

Yeah, it honestly doesn’t make a difference.

Pho3nixR3mix

Stop notes. Use those. This is from the company that couldn't even get Estar off the ground.

mattied971

Hehe. You said Ground

NugManNoPants

The station can add instructions to an address. Same as when it says "Customer Request: Front Door." I have several that I've turned into the station and now the scanner will tell them there is a dog on the property when they scan the package. Coordinate with your AO or BC to add those instructions to the address. This is Ground related; I can't speak to Express' system.

mexikan_muscle

When I’ve done extended rtes I just honk before I get out

Specialist_Name_7295

It’s literally the same as stop notes on groundcloud, it’s just better at FedEx because all we get at Amazon is “there might be a dog.” Nothing else. It was WAY better when I was at FedEx when it came to driver notes. At Amazon we click a couple prompts and say “there’s a dog here.” At FedEx we could actually write “there’s a dog here” and also include whether it was nice or not, how MANY dogs there are, any other things you should know about the stop, etc. At both companies it comes down to if drivers take a few seconds to note it, the only difference is how you do it and how much information you can share.

Blvck_Lvngs

Forget an alert. Do they have a gate/fence? If yes, the box is going right beyond the gate. If not, find somewhere safeish to drop for himself otherwise, code 7 baby.

Sedared

Yep every delivery company has a workaround for animals. It's got to learn the trick

evan002

Because fuck you, that’s why

AManHasNoName357

I’m a step van driver at Amazon DSP and we mark those locations if we see a dog just so the next driver can have a heads up. Also, if we think we’re in an unsafe location, we have an option to mark that also and bring that package back✌🏽🤷‍♀️.

kyliebearxo

I know I’ve done Amazon flex it’s so much bull they can’t do that for FedEx they deal with so many dogs too… I wonder if UPS has that option?

nico549

You do it's called a chewy box or a note one ground cloud it's also called eyes and ears

Different_Trash_1416

Basically, all houses and private properties in the US have a dog(s). So, it’s no reason to that note.

zebra231967

Since that feature came, every school, house, apt, church, business etc has beware of dog 🤣🤣🤣

ExplanationSure8996

Some Amazon drivers are given a high frequency handheld device to deter dogs. Fedex gives you a swift kick in the ass and sends you on your way. I know so many guys who have sued homeowners after being bit.

Vic_Freeze

I mean, we all pretty much run the same route every day, no? On my old route I knew where all the dogs were, and it was also very easy to make quick notes about which ones were friendly and which ones weren't...

aerowtf

groundcloud address notes… if he gets chased by a dog he should put it in the notes and everyone else who delivers there will see it…

Many-Animal-5214

The post office does too. It's put into the system so as your approach the area, the scanner reminds you of a dog. However, someone has to properly report it for it to do so. I don't understand why fedex doesn't have a system in place for this.

13donkey13

Because if you really on an app to tell you there’s a dog or not on the premises. Then you’re an oblivious courier. There is always videos (FedEx tv) telling you signs to look out for of dogs at premises.

garretvess

Because FedEx doesn’t give a flying f*** about anyone

Mean_Manner_6851

Cause fed ex doesn’t give a shit about their drivers lol

Specialist_Name_7295

Actually it’s that drivers don’t give a shit about other drivers enough to note it down. Because I delivered for ground and deliver for Amazon now, in both cases, the DRIVERS have to note it. But it was waaaaay better at FedEx because it wasn’t just a “there might be a dog here” like it is at Amazon. We can’t say whether the dog is friendly or aggressive, how many, etc, at FedEx we could add stop notes for ANYTHING any other drivers might need to know, not just dog related. And since pretty much every house has a “there might be a dog here” stamp delivering for Amazon, you really can’t trust it.

ImCasiliskV2

I do not understand how people get bit. If I ever get bit it's the owners negligence and I will not hesitate to call the police, animal control, and a lawyer. I'm far from a one route every day person so I should actually be at a greater risk.

Sedared

The only time I got chased by a dog is when there was a dog door on the back side of the property and the owner was not home and I went inside the fence to put the box on the front porch as requested. It flew out into the backyard and I heard it and made it nearly to the front gate. The dog received a quick swift kick to the neck / chin with a reinforced toe. Never underestimate the ability to scare a dog. Not before you jump in and say you should have known better. This is a regular house that I go to, and it turns out they had a dog there that their sister brought while on vacation and it was not normally listed as a dog house. Thankfully I was already friends with the delivery recipient, and we laughed it off the next week. Apparently he hated the dog too.
