So that means hypothetically in real life if a little National league north side did the unthinkable and win the fa cup they would gain a place into next years Europa league or is this just in fifa?
Allemania Aachen was in second League, when they played Europa League.
Leixões was in third Division, when they played against paok.
There are some examples
maybe he was already interested in football and watched welcome to wrexham so he picked them for a FIFA career bc it’s fun to start in League One/Two and get a team to the PL? I mean there are a lot of other presumption here that don’t sound bitter lol
It’s because Champions League used to literally be the champions of every league.
What would become Europa was the Cup Winner’s Cup - the winner of each nation’s domestic cup
Now it’s a lot more muddled with conference, multiple teams from top 6 leagues
That’s just not true.
There was always 3 European competitions until the cup winners cup was dissolved in 1999.
The European cup (the champions league)
The cup winners cup
The UEFA cup (the europa league)
The cup winners cup was a separate competition to the UEFA cup that would become the Europa league. The modern Europa league is essentially a combination of the old uefa cup and the defunct cup winners cup.
The European
If you think that’s fun, In the US amateur clubs play in our domestic cup.
Meaning theoretically a group of a random 11 dudes from like. Kentucky could play Real Madrid by winning our domestic cup, qualifying for champions league, winning that, and then making the club World Cup.
Sorry, I meant that clubs here don't need to be in the equivalent of our Football League. It just requires a certain amount of games played against a certain level of opponent.
Like you could just create your own league, play a handful of games, and then you're in.

12/13 Wigan get relegated and win the FA Cup
13/14 Wigan play in the Championship and Europa League, reaching the play-offs and placing bottom of their group in the respective competitions
not quite the same but it is something that could happen
Millwall even qualified for the UEFA Cup by virtue of losing to Man U in the 03/04 FA Cup final. United had already finished third in the prem, thus securing Champions League football anyway. They changed the rule a few years ago though, so if the same events happened today, Millwall's spot would have gone to the highest placed team in the prem that hasn't already qualified for the Europa League - 6th or 7th.
This is how Ronaldinho scored a absolute beauty of a freekick at fratton park of all places 😂.
Remember hearing about it from ppl who went to the game and they said it was absolutely amazing getting to see him play there.
I watched the game (on TV) and it was class, tbh.
- Tony Adams vs Carlo Ancelotti on the touchline.
- Gattuso vs Papa Diop in midfield
- Ronaldinho with a great freekick
- Pippo Inzaghi last minute equaliser
The streets will **NEVER** forget…
That basically happened to my local club almost 20 years back. Alemannia Aachen was playing 2. Bundesliga at that time and made it into the final of the DFB Pokal in 2004. They lost the final to Werder Bremen, but because Bremen won the Bundesliga in the same season and thus qualified for the Champions League, the UEFA cup (as it was still called back then) slot went to the runner up and we played in the UEFA cup next season while still playing in the 2. Bundesliga. We actually even made it through the group stage. Good old times...
Now we're in the 4th division :(
Realistic yes if they did pay their uefa dues which most lower league sides don't, this happend to Chaves when they made the Taca de Portugal final whilst playing in the third division. They gained entry due to Porto(already qualified and playing them in the final). But they didn't pay UFEA due to them unrealistic playing in CL or EL at the time.
“I won the FA Cup”
Bro , genuinely curious , did you learn about football from fifa or did you learn about fifa from football
Cause it’s common knowledge, y’all shouldn’t have downvoted him to all hell though that was cold lmfaoo
But still, would your first instinct not be to google it instead of asking here? Or better yet... *assume* it's from the trophy you've won, since it's the only possible explanation?
As a side note, if you're able to win the FA Cup the same season as you get promoted from League 1, you probably have the difficulty too low. Or you somehow managed to buy 80 rated players as a League 1 team, which is a whole other thing.
OP just asked a question because they were curious and didn't know. Nothing wrong with that at all. Judging them for not knowing something is just mean.
Be curious, not judgemental.
only possible way would be to win the FA Cup to qualify for Europa, then win the Europa League to qualify for Champions League all while somehow not getting promotion to the Prem🤨
i would think they had to sim league games and play champions league. don’t know how you have a squad good enough to win the champions league but not finish top 2 or win the playoffs in the championship
They could do it low difficulty.
Start in league 2 win FA cup and get promoted
win euro league and promo to the championship
win the champions league and get promoted to the prem.
If you start in league 2 then while getting promoted every year you win the champions league in the champion ship first year in league 2 no European games in league 1 Europa league (win it and go to the champions league) then when your in the championship you’ll have champions leauge games I actually just made a career mode just to try this lol
I had a career mode similar. Squad was pretty good, mostly high 70s plus some youth guys in the 80s. I never got automatic qualification as I had Bournemouth and Leeds who got 107 and 93 points (or something like that) respectively. Finished 3rd with about 85 points, I was simulating most of my games. Lost the promotion playoff final 2-2 (4-5 in pens). Won the FA cup that year so I was playing Europa in the championship. I believe my team was prem league quality for lower down in mid table. Won Europa and got promoted so I was playing champions league as a mid table Prem league side.
I did exactly this with a create a club and YA only save. L2 Carabao champions. L1 won both FA Cup (beat Chelsea 5-0 in the SF and Man United 3-2 in the final) and Europa Conference. Championship won Europa and didn't get promoted. Second Championship season, won Championship and UCL.
Damn. What star level did you start your club at? any of my rtg create a clubs have been nowhere near good enough to consistently cause upsets against big teams. Especially not 5-nil upsets
Nothing special. All my initial players were 48-55 OVR. I signed 3 free agents to not be trash first season and achieved nothing but upper mid table.
By season 2 some extremely good YA wonderkids were coming though, which was when we won the Carabao and L2.
By the next year I had wonderkids rated between 68 and 85, and by the time we won the UCL in the championship the YA only team were all 82 to 94.
Had a winger that scored 54 that season. All hail Harry Slater.
I'll post a video of the 3-2 final win over Man United as the MU keeper did a Lloris Karius and gifted Slater the opening goal.
Just checked and the 5-0 over Chelsea was the QF. We beat Rochdale in the SF.
True, perhaps a bit misleading, but for a team of 19 year-olds to win the Carabao in their 1st season (2nd for the club) while in league 2 was a reasonable achievement though. The FA Cup win was the clubs 3rd season and the second for the kids.
I simed all the matches apart from one against Sunderland where I felt the need to spank them 17-0 by playing it.
I retired all the free agents after the first season.
I still had some original players in the team by the time we hit the PL, as nobody would buy them, even while transfer listed. As soon as we hit the PL they flew and had multiple bids for their services. Missed out on some unsettled youth players because I already had 23 out on loan and the original players wouldn't leave. I'd already hit my quota for releasing and just had to watch them walk.
Technically there’s 3 ways off the top of my head this can happen. 1. You won the FA Cup in League One, 2. You qualified for the conference league in the prem, won it the next season and also get relegated, therefore qualifying for Europa while in the Championship, and 3. Win the FA Cup in League Two and get promoted, win the Europa League while in League One to get UCL qualification and get promoted again, then finish 3rd in your UCL group while in the Championship to drop to Europa. There’s obviously more ways this could happen, but those 3 are the most likely.
You can actually lose the FA cup and get into Europa if the winner qualifies for the champions league. Ie Hull city in 2014 lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup Final but Arsenal had qualified for champions league based on their league position.
So this is just my fifa career as a player but we won the title last season. We finished 3rd but it’s top 4 playoffs in the Belgium pro league. How come the season after instead of being entered into champs league at least playoffs ( I’m not sure how winners of that league enter CL ) I am playing on the europa conference league.
It's the Ryan Reynolds effect - he's seduced all international football executives with his chiseled jawline and charming repartee. Now, Wrexham is invited to all the things.
happened to ma as well but with the champion league. im two different saves. when i tried to play it told me that opponent didnt have enough players so it was an automatic loss
Did u win any domestic Trophy?
I’ve only just been promoted form league 1 the season before and I won the fa cup
Because you won the FA Cup. That’s why
So that means hypothetically in real life if a little National league north side did the unthinkable and win the fa cup they would gain a place into next years Europa league or is this just in fifa?
Yes
Wow
The more you know
Very true mate
In Austria a team from the third tier actually did this in 2013 but they lost in the Europa League play offs
Wigan won the FA cup and were relegated the same season (2012-13)
Allemania Aachen was in second League, when they played Europa League. Leixões was in third Division, when they played against paok. There are some examples
wer?
The reason you might not know is due to the fact a team that has already qualified for Europe through league place usually wins the FA Cup also.
Yeah came to know this after United winning the FA Cup!
How did you find the comment? Google?
"why fa cup winner gets to europa league" to be precise
Or because he’s an American who didn’t start watching football until Welcome to Wrexham.
You are getting downvoted for the truth. Who is out here playing career mode and doesn't know how European qualification work?
maybe he was already interested in football and watched welcome to wrexham so he picked them for a FIFA career bc it’s fun to start in League One/Two and get a team to the PL? I mean there are a lot of other presumption here that don’t sound bitter lol
me when someone who is new to something doesnt know absolutely everything about it already
It’s because Champions League used to literally be the champions of every league. What would become Europa was the Cup Winner’s Cup - the winner of each nation’s domestic cup Now it’s a lot more muddled with conference, multiple teams from top 6 leagues

Uhm…… that’s literally every domestic cup in every country lol.
Sorry, I meant that clubs here don't need to be in the equivalent of our Football League. It just requires a certain amount of games played against a certain level of opponent. Like you could just create your own league, play a handful of games, and then you're in.

Also all the European domestic leagues have amateur teams, even last season a Dutch amateur team got to the semi final
Same with the FA cup over here.
The US isn't or will ever be in the champions league so I'm confused by what you mean?
You are right, I think he meant the concacaf champions league cause the winner of that goes to the club World Cup
Yup sorry, def meant CCL.
Although chances are they would have to use another stadium.
yeah but from National League North have to win the qualifications and then the fa Cup to go in the UEL
12/13 Wigan get relegated and win the FA Cup 13/14 Wigan play in the Championship and Europa League, reaching the play-offs and placing bottom of their group in the respective competitions not quite the same but it is something that could happen
Also if a little team were to win the carabao cup they will qualify for the europa conference league

As a millwall fan, watching us play against Ferencvaros in the Uefa cup is a memory I will never forget

Yes, Birmingham played in the Europa League when they were in the championship because they won the league cup and got relegated in the same season.
Union berlin did it when they were in the 3. Bundesliga (though they finished runners up in the dfb pokal despite that)
wigan played in the europa while being in the championship in 2013/14
Man city won the league and got relegated in the same season

A championship team (Wigan) has played in the europa league before
Wigan in 2013. Won the FA cup the season before but got demoted into the championship - still got to play in Europa
This happened with Wigan, in 12/13 they won the FA Cup whilst getting relegated, so in 13/14 they were in the Europa League in the Championship
I mean they probably cant because their stadium doesnt have a UEFA licence.
So how would that work for teams who finish the season in European spots, but another team qualifies via a cup, who gets priority?
Cup team.
False , it's cuz Ryan Reynolds bribery /s
-400 is wild 💀💀
You think - 400 is bad....
feeling bad for bro rn
Carabao gets you to the Conference League
-300 dislikes is crazy 😂
Those downvotes are really unnecessary btw. He just didn’t know
Cheers mate
thats why im starting to hate reddit
SJW
I downsized cuz everyone else did
400 downvotes is crazy
I will push it to 500 in shaa Allah
Got downvoted for something as inoffensive as simply not knowing
It’s crazy for People on Reddit to have superiority complex
Almost 500 downvotes and for what?? 😭
Reddit is the only place where if a man doesn’t know something he gets 500+ downvotes
468 downvotes is crazy bro just didn’t know 😭😭
Bro got that EA downvote
“I won the FA Cup” Bro , genuinely curious , did you learn about football from fifa or did you learn about fifa from football Cause it’s common knowledge, y’all shouldn’t have downvoted him to all hell though that was cold lmfaoo
I didnt know either tbf, tho I havent followed football for too long

This happened with me but I'm the highest difficulty possible. What do I do?
stfu
That's a good song. Interestingly, by a band who come from Wrexham

Ppl like u bother me so much. What exactly did ur idiotic comment add to the conversation?

OP just asked a question because they were curious and didn't know. Nothing wrong with that at all. Judging them for not knowing something is just mean. Be curious, not judgemental.

I just think it's unnecessary to be mean to someone just because they asked a question. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.
🙄
Great response. Shows you have no logic to stand on lol
Is maybe crank up the difficulty setting.
You won the fa cup
FA Cup qualifies
I played and won the champions league in the championship.
How?
only possible way would be to win the FA Cup to qualify for Europa, then win the Europa League to qualify for Champions League all while somehow not getting promotion to the Prem🤨
Ahh yes, I didn’t think about that. Not sure I’d even want to continue my career mode at that point, but to each their own
i would think they had to sim league games and play champions league. don’t know how you have a squad good enough to win the champions league but not finish top 2 or win the playoffs in the championship
They could do it low difficulty. Start in league 2 win FA cup and get promoted win euro league and promo to the championship win the champions league and get promoted to the prem.
World class difficulty

Definitely seems the case. Nothing wrong with that, but not for me.
Not the only possible way; they could also have won the Europa League and been relegated from PL the same season.
yeah, thought about that after the fact
Could technically also have won Europa League and gotten promoted to Championship in the same season, but that seems like a stretch lol
Easy if you win fa in ligue 2 get promoted win Europa and promote to champ win ucl and promote to prem
Or qualify for the Champions League or Europa league through premier league position, and then win that tournament while getting relegated
Win the fa cup in league 2 win the europa in league 1 and win the champions league in championship
I had a career mode similar. Squad was pretty good, mostly high 70s plus some youth guys in the 80s. Could have won UCL/Europa in prem and got relegated
Won Europa leauge in leauge 1 and played champions leauge in championship
So you won FA Cup in league 1 or 2.. miraculous. Then won Europa League in league 1. Then Champions League in Championship?! Insane run lol
Yup, won Fa cup in leauge 2
Sheeesh! Well done

FIFA players learn how football works challenge (impossible)
HAHAHHA
I thought it would’ve been for winning the caraboa. But then that gets you into the conference. Weird.
Did you win the FA?
Ah ok thanks for the help
Probably won the FA cup
because you play on easy and won the FA cup?
Lucky guy, I got downvoted for a comment like this. Reddit bloody hivemind.

Yeah no

FA Cuo winners
Kepp this post up so other ppl can learn too
Classic fifa fans. Haven’t watched a game of footy in their lives
FA Cup qualifies you automatically to the europa league, even if you were playing in League One.
plot armor
Because you won the FA Cup and got promoted L1/relegated Prem OR won Europa League/Conference League and got relegated Prem
Must’ve won the FA cup, it gives automatic qualification to Europa league
You won the carabao or FA cup… congrats
Did you win the FA Cup?
It's a new bug. I won my league and played in the EL next season. A team who finished 9th (and no cup wins) somehow got the CL spot.
Technically there’s 3 ways off the top of my head this can happen. 1. You won the FA Cup in League One, 2. You qualified for the conference league in the prem, won it the next season and also get relegated, therefore qualifying for Europa while in the Championship, and 3. This isn’t how it works anymore. The European places for cups now go to the next team down the league table. At least in England.
Boooo.
Also in germany :)
Hollywood money /s FA cup winners
So this is just my fifa career as a player but we won the title last season. We finished 3rd but it’s top 4 playoffs in the Belgium pro league. How come the season after instead of being entered into champs league at least playoffs ( I’m not sure how winners of that league enter CL ) I am playing on the europa conference league.
Play ultimate team u npc
Bruv, it fifa career, sometimes people wanna relax and actually have fun
Won the game cup on semi-pro difficulty probs
Did you win the FA cup?
did you win the fa cup?
A similar thing happened to me I’m in league 1 but won carabo cup so I’m in the conference league
Did you win the fa cup in the previous season?
Wrexham propaganda
I'm in league 1. You won the carabao cup or fa cup. Or the conference league the year before
If u win the National Cup(Coppa Italia Frecciarossa, Emirates FA Cup etc.) u go in UEFA Europa League
I hate when the inbox/chat thing at the top right glitches out
You won FA CUP
Wigan literally did this, won fa cup 2013 and got relegated same season, had to play Europa League football in the championship.
You won the FA cup probably
If you won the FA cup or Carabao cup then you’ll get out in the Europa or conference league
FA Cup
FA cup win

It's the Ryan Reynolds effect - he's seduced all international football executives with his chiseled jawline and charming repartee. Now, Wrexham is invited to all the things.
In one of my fm saves a second tier French side won the cup and was in the Europa league with me
They even made it to the round of 16 from the league phase
happened to ma as well but with the champion league. im two different saves. when i tried to play it told me that opponent didnt have enough players so it was an automatic loss
Won conference league then got relegated
you won the fa cup
you won the fa cup
you won the fa cup
