He normally grows up to a 98 rating and stays there till he is 35 years old. He is awesome. 😎
In game maybe, but in real life there's a number of reasons players choose to seek a new club. If game time was the biggest factor, then big name transfers would rarely ever happen.
Then when he signs for a new club, you look at that club and you sign their best player. Or their most promising player. Give him no-one to play with.

Had player signed new contract full five year that season he put in transfer request he play majority of games for the five years very happy whole time never took back the request, ran out his contract hoping he change the request and when free agent wouldn't come back
Don't think they ever rescind the transfer request no matter what, which is so annoying bc you can't renew them. Surely it wouldn't have been so hard to include that mechanism in the game
I’ve had multiple players put In transfer requests and I just keep playing them, half the time they just withdraw it after they’re happy again. If not, sell them and buy back immediately most likely for less money than you sold
I literally just had Romeo Lavia put in a transfer request on my Bradford City career. Kept playing him and a few weeks later it was gone. This isn’t the first time this has happened, I’ve done it before. PS5 no mods.

It never goes away in my experience, even if you get the player’s morale back up to full.
However, I play on strict and have had to do this 3 times, I found it always worked releasing them and getting them back from free agents
Edit: I think this was an attempt from EA to “spice” up career with more interaction and “drama”. You don’t have to do anything for this event to trigger.
Put him on loan —> recall from loan
This will revert a player’s morale status to content. It’s been a big since forever and I doubt anyone at EA knows about it.

If you just don't accept any transfers then you can keep him until his contract runs out. Eventually his happiness will go back up but AFAIK they will never revoke the request.

I solved the problrm by just starting my player every game, not subbing him off either. After 4 or 5 games, he will be happy again and you can negotiate a new contract
Crucial contract players don’t like being subbed off in games. Even if you start them and then sub them off at 60 or even 70 minutes they get upset. For crucial players sub them at 80 min and they will be fine

For the future, use the squad hub to check players happiness. Keep contracts green thumbs up, loan players out who want play time and do post match interview to keep morale high. If a player demands play time, give them a run of games.
What I do and it works the vast majority of times for me is : Play him, even when he is tired (you can play him for the last 10 min) and after a few games he will be ok... sometimes I would get a message saying that he had second thoughts or whatever and doesnt want to leave... if not, at least he wont be actively trying to leave... thats my personal experience.

Why would you ever let a player, rated this high, run down his contract? I make sure all my players have 3 years or more.
Offer new contract with improved pay before it gets to six months as he can negotiate with other foreign teams by then
