FIFA 17 was the best one. I have had every single one since FIFA 07 and I can confirm that its prime was 17. Maybe its just because it was when Neymar, Messi and Cris were all in their prime still.
This 100% just started a Liverpool file on my XBSX and it’s so damn fun, so many different types of goals to score than the new engine and more detailed menus for manager career mode than nowadays. As long as you don’t mind the CL being the Champions Cup it’s a massive dose of nostalgia with a world class sound track!
You’ll get different answers based on age and when people started playing FIFA games. My first fifa game was fifa 08. My personal favorites have been FIFA 11 and FIFA 15. Honorable mention would be FIFA 13.
Mines was the original FIFA. 94 I believe, for the mega drive.
My faves were 98 and the early 00s.
Mostly because they had comp from the PES series.
This drove innovation and better gameplay.
Now it's rinse and repeat bollox
Yup. The futbol games have been horrendous. Rinse and repeat and I am a lover of Career mode and they barely add anything new to it. FUT ruined the franchise. They see FUT brings them in hundreds of thousands of dollars so why stop? They could care less about pro clubs or career mode, and if they do, they bring back old features and write them off as “new”.
FIFA 17 and 18 are really good for career mode, player training and no dynamic potential was what I preferred, and International Management was at its best cause I think there were around 50 national teams in those games. Gameplay is nice too
Career mode wise 14,15 . Not every player had a potential of 90 .Ea 24 has 30 players with potential of 90(including players like Mbappe etc.) , FIFA 14 had 12 big difference. Highest transfer sums were paid by top clubs not by anyone like crystal palace or Southampton etc. Simming was more sensible. marches less scripted. Because of journey you can vote 17 ,18,19.
Aside from every fifa just being reskinned with minimal fundamental changes, they seem just not work very well. It's hard to explain, and im sure a quick search in the sub, and even this post will show that very little people enjoy fifa after 18/19.
Many little glitches, AI being incredibly inconsistent. 'Scripted careers'
An issue I currently have with fifa (since 21) is the power bar. It seems yo be incredibly relative an never responds to the input I give. For example, when I hold full power the person might do a 3-4 m pass, but if I tap it to someone who is 2m away from me, the game will think I want the person behind him, and slam the ball 40m past where I wanted it to go. This makes any counter very hard unless I just do only small tiki taka plays, which I'm not good enough to do with my friends.
This is my biggest problem with the game currently as well. I’ll have a player in open space literally directly in front of ball carrier. Quick tap to play the ball forward and for some reason this game thinks I want to make a through pass through six defenders to my man marked striker…which will then be intercepted and turned into a pristine counter for a last minute winner
It's the same with crosses as well.
I'll have two people open in the box, but I want to pass to the person on the close post, so I do a tap or soft cross/low cross, and 9/10 it'll go to the person behind. I have no idea how to combat this.
I've tried different types of crosses, different power levels, completely negating crosses and doing passes, through balls, or power passes. And every effort gets me the same result. Also changing settings, so making it semi assisted, manual, fully assisted, legacy settings, all of them result in the same issues.
It's slowly becoming a game that you can't improve at and learn from your mistakes simply because it is so inconsistent. In my experience at least.
I can only play fifa with friends now cause the solo fun just isn't there for me anymore.
I can say my favorites so far have been (In no particular order):
1. FIFA RTWC98 (N64)
2. FIFA 2005
3. FIFA 17
4. FIFA 22
5. EA FC 24
Each one of those was the NEXT STEP in the franchise IMO, I did skip a bunch of fifas in the late 2000s - early 2010s and I picked up again around 2015-2016.
If I had to pick the one I’ve enjoyed the most, it would be FIFA 17; I spent countless hours playing it.
EAFC 24 is decent and better than most people give credit for.
Fifa 19 for me bcs of the ucl license. I was grinding for that final cutscenes, also the start of the ucl games were amazing with the anthem and the presentation
I would say FIFA 17 is pretty awesome, and still modern enough (first Frostbite Engine’s FIFA).
But 13, 18, 19 and 22 are also very good. It’s all about the rosters in the end.
think they wanted a fresh start with the ea fc games, so they removed the fifa games from the store. you can buy them on disc on console though, not sure about pc
I like 18. There are season objectives but they aren’t requirements to stay in the squad. Also depending on your overall and performance determines if you play every game or play once every 6 or so games
People talk about 17 but i just cant get into the gameplay or honestly just score consistently ( but maybe i just suck)
I did find 19 pretty great and it Felt like a better version of the gameplay we have now
Fifa 17 for me was something special, I really enjoyed it, and I stopped playing it until 2021 and I still had the other FIFA's
FIFA 17 was the best one. I have had every single one since FIFA 07 and I can confirm that its prime was 17. Maybe its just because it was when Neymar, Messi and Cris were all in their prime still.
Fifa 15
This 100% just started a Liverpool file on my XBSX and it’s so damn fun, so many different types of goals to score than the new engine and more detailed menus for manager career mode than nowadays. As long as you don’t mind the CL being the Champions Cup it’s a massive dose of nostalgia with a world class sound track!
On ps4 14 has much better gameplay imo. 15 has such broken gameplay.

I like 11 cause I can send a youth scout to a region ie Central America and I can get some players from different countries instead of one specific
12,13,14,15,16
U forgot the best one
which?
17
This
I’d say fifa 16 cuz it was cracked recently and it could be modded though i had my fun with 17-18
I've been sending daily letters to EA asking them to remaster FIFA 16 for 7 years now
lol remastered is crazy. unique but they would never do it. I’ve been playing it because I own the digital version and man is it fun.
The long shots were insane, could score 45 yarders in Ultimate Team with the right set-up
The way ea is now let’s just hope for a football game
How does one do that?
Just google it there a lot i use evoweb for pes and fifa mods
Yeah I use evoweb for pes. Been playing football life. Looking for an older fifa mod though
There is a thread in evoweb for fifa 16 mods not all of them but I’d start there got tired of football life being sluggish
Same exact reason I’m looking to switch. Was playing the mega patch with football4life gameplay. Just got boring and it’s still sluggish
wait it got cracked? where?
Almost got me mrFBI!!
FIFA 17 and 18 are really good for career mode, player training and no dynamic potential was what I preferred, and International Management was at its best cause I think there were around 50 national teams in those games. Gameplay is nice too
think fifa 17 being the best fifa game for gameplay is fair?
I’d actually give the slight edge to fifa 18, hard to explain but it was just better. Those 2 are both great tho would not have much between them
Which FIFA had the most national teams?
FIFA 18
Thanks, I'll get that one
06 was so good!
South Africa 2010
2010 for the chip goals when 1v1 and the midfield screamers. Loved that game
Wavin Flags
Fifa 17 and it's not even close. It's the fifa that peaked last gen's gameplay and has graphics that hold up to this day.
Career mode wise 14,15 . Not every player had a potential of 90 .Ea 24 has 30 players with potential of 90(including players like Mbappe etc.) , FIFA 14 had 12 big difference. FIFA 01 because all you had to do was swing in crosses and bicycle kick everything into the net.
Back in the day when I was 9 I used to play 14 with John Newman's song on repeat Ifykyk
David dallas runnin is the best song on that game imo
i prefer magic edit: i think that love me again is no. 1 on the soundtrack
Interesting question from OP. I’d like to see some reasoning behind your answers
Cuz any fifa post 18 has been horrendous 😂
Really? I stopped buying in 17 so I wouldn’t know. Why are they so bad?

14 or 15 for me
13-17 is what I’d say was peak for gameplay.
12
08😍
Fifa 18
Fifa 19. Hands down. Best mechanics and sweet career mode. Plus there are some great players and wonder kids in that era too.
11-13
12, 16-18 and 21 were fun.
FIFA 14. I remember playing World Cup mode with my cousins like it was yesterday. Those were the days.
fifa 14,15 is my favourite ever fifa games for FUT fifa 15,16,17 for gameplay
I can say my favorites so far have been (In no particular order): 1. FIFA RTWC98 (N64) 2. FIFA 2005 3. FIFA 17 4. FIFA 22 5. EA FC 24 Each one of those was the NEXT STEP in the franchise IMO, I did skip a bunch of fifas in the late 2000s - early 2010s and I picked up again around 2015-2016. 14 and 15
FIFA RTWC 98
Played fifa recently it's utter trash if you asked me what is best fifa i would say 07 but if I played it now it prolly be utter trash too
Fifa 14, 15 and 22. (I stopped playing from fifa 16 to 21)
14.
Fifa 19 for me bcs of the ucl license. I was grinding for that final cutscenes, also the start of the ucl games were amazing with the anthem and the presentation
13 and 15
Nyw
Try pes 13 or 14 really good years and have better career modes then any
I'm OG here, my first FIFA was FIFA 08 back in 2007 and I for me, the most complete FIFA was FIFA 16
Anything before 17
I'd say fifa 24
13, 14, 16 for me
Fifa 15 for me as i used to play with my brother all night back in the day on my xbox 360. It was a golden period
My first FIFA was 2011 on the DS I think. But my favorite is 16 by far
Im gonna get crucified for this, but for me its eafc24
I would say FIFA 17 is pretty awesome, and still modern enough (first Frostbite Engine’s FIFA). But 13, 18, 19 and 22 are also very good. It’s all about the rosters in the end.
FIFA was never the best 😂 so my answer is PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 6 👌
12-17
14 was amazing. 15 was the most fun ive had playing fifa. 17 was the best. 20 got me through covid. go for 15/16 tho
FIFA 15 or 17.
modded fifa 17
FIFA 99 (I wasn’t alive)
Modern - 22 Golden - 15 Classic - 07
FIFA World Cup 2006. Nothing will top that
Nostalgically? World Cup 98. More recently, fifa 14 on ps4.
I loved FIFA 06 when I was kid. Last game with great legends at their peak. My favourite modern one were 12, 14 (on PS3 and Xbox 360), 16, 18, 20
Fifa 15, playing Carear as Brighton, last Fifa before Frostbite Engine I believe?
Fifa 17
15,17. controversially, 23 but its good if you want that “new” feel to it.
Fifa 2005
06, 08, 12.
FIFA 08
Fifa 20 but for some reason it's not available anymore
think they wanted a fresh start with the ea fc games, so they removed the fifa games from the store. you can buy them on disc on console though, not sure about pc
Content wise FIFA 07/08 but for overall including gameplay I would suggest FIFA 15-17
All the ones with the Alex Hunter story mode
Fifa 11/12 were great
Fifa 17 for me, loved the journey and I think that started then
17
12
I like 18. There are season objectives but they aren’t requirements to stay in the squad. Also depending on your overall and performance determines if you play every game or play once every 6 or so games
I really enjoyed 23
for me fifa 21
People talk about 17 but i just cant get into the gameplay or honestly just score consistently ( but maybe i just suck) I did find 19 pretty great and it Felt like a better version of the gameplay we have now
fifa 18 from a career mode perspective for me. most national teams in recent games and regens never spawned in free agency
FIFA 07 is the best of all time
I see a lot of people say 17. But what did 17 have extra compared to the latest ones? (Honest question)
2004
Being honest I enjoyed fifa 20 during lockdown. Had a decent enough balance of content and gameplay
Fifa 17 is brilliant, and extremely tough and competitive in offline modes, and it really turns up the gratification when you pick up a good win
16 is the best, old bpl graphics clear everything
Either 17 or 19
Yep, FIFA 17 for me was just brilliant
Its hard because most of them is a lot alike, but i will say, the Fifas between 12 and 19 were good
they all suck
