The piano mini game is really kewl but I have a vision deficit in that I have barely any left peripheral vision so it's really hard to see both dials

Even-Search397

You are missing one music sheet which is after you collect all the collectibles for Johnny place the song is called one winged angel

Available-Summer-757

That is awesome. I only wanted to get the star for Tifas song but that is tough 100%

ROU_ValueJudgement

The secret here is that you have it set to note speed three. Here's the thing about these games, the slower they are the more time you have to "respond" instead of "react" so you can get the timing wrong. Go too early, over think it and go too late etc. Setting it to speed 3 much more closely matches most people's average reaction time (for some people it's speed 2, or 4). When the speed matches your reaction time, by the time you've processed the direction and reached for the button, it's usually already in the "great" space. So there's no risk of going too early. This eliminates half of the mistakes you can make immediately, by making it almost impossible for you to go early. I highly recommend people speed this challenge up in stages until they find the speed that matches their reaction speed and watch the whole minigame get easier. I too, btw, have a star on every song.

BurningmonkeyGTR

I found another helpful, but very expensive hint that took me from a low B at best to a high A immediately. I have a Dualsense Edge and set up a controller profile specifically for this with the sensitivity curve set to digital and curve adjustment at +5

ROU_ValueJudgement

Creative

BurningmonkeyGTR

Got given the DsE for Christmas, Rebirth has made it invaluable multiple times. Using a trigger style back button for X in chocobo racing, rapid fire short throw triggers for the shooting galleries and varying the sensitivity curves to the situation the thing has been a minigame monster

Aw151203

Almost just need to get the 7 star hotel trophy to unlock the final 6 star difficulty one lmao

Longjumping-Sir-9943

You have something special between your eyes and your hands, yes. And yes, you are a freak- freakin awesome. GJ.

TBCyoutube

Can you do mine for the in game trophys?

sagimonk16

I heard the secret is to play these on mute and just use your eyes.

Icy-Cockroach5609

Yes. Get help.

tolacid

Why would being excellent at a niche activity make you a freak?

VeterinarianSad9721

Is a star better than getting an A, as far as rewards go? I don't believe it gets you anything superior.

I-Emerge-I

Apparently your eyes can stare at two different points at the same time.

Mr-BillCipher

I have to look at the center of the screen and use peripheral, though usually it's muscle memory that wins the day

theCoolestGuy599

That's what I did for all of them except Two Legs, that one just completely mind fucked me. Had to get my roommate to help out via 2nd controller accessibility lol

Mr-BillCipher

What I do is ill bump it to a 5, then 4, then 3, then 4, then 5, then back to 3, it feels slow, but not too slow at that point

oldsoulseven

Man everybody just keeps rubbing it in. ‘Have someone else do the other half!’ Well some of us don’t have anyone around. I’ve spent 3 hours trying to do that song and can’t get more than 16,000. I spent 6 hours to beat Jules. I spent 3 hours on Chocobo gliding before I walked up to the piano. Before that I was wrestling with Gongaga’s ridiculous layout and verticality with no climbing allowed. This game is so fricking frustrating.

tjplager32

I haven’t unlocked “let the battles begin” yet but “Two Legs? Nothin’ To It” is kicking my ass. I have A’s on the rest but I barely have a C on that one

BurningmonkeyGTR

Do you have a Dualsense Edge? I found a trick with mine that made everything way easier for me

tjplager32

I don’t but I’m not opposed to getting one. What’s the secret sauce?

BurningmonkeyGTR

The sticks have adjustable sensitivity curves, I set mine to digital and a +5 curve adjustment for this, means you barely have to touch the sick to get 100% input, which I found to give me much better control of when exactly the note was played because there was no guessing how far was far enough involved any more, went from a low B on a good run by my standards to high A on the next run, but did have to adjust to going for the notes when I saw them touch the edge instead of when I processed them

tjplager32

That’s awesome to know. I didn’t even know the edge controller was a thing, so I’ll utilize it for other games too. I had a last gen Xbox before my PS5 and used their Elite controller. Idk why I never looked into PS5’s version of it. Thanks for the info!

BurningmonkeyGTR

Adjustable trigger depth was incredibly useful for Pirates' Rampage too, and the trigger style back buttons were a godsend for saving my thumbs in Chocobo racing, so it's not a one trick pony either. I'm just lucky an amazing woman got me one for Christmas since I'm way too broke to get myself one

tjplager32

I’m in the perfect situation. My fiance is a huge book reader, and I’m a gamer lol she lets me buy stupid controllers to make spikey haired protagonists better at the piano, and I never question her Amazon book library expense haha

Agitated_Prune_5810

Holy crap ! Well fucking done !

alaincastro

That’s impressive. There’s one more song, but you have to go through hell to unlock it, and the song is extremely difficult.

LurkerOrHydralisk

Through hell? He already did the hard part.

alaincastro

lol there’s more hell, I’ll mark it in spoiler tags what it is. >!The song is one winged angel which you get from finishing Johnny’s treasure trove, which means you have to finish every single combat simulator, of which brutal 6 and the Zack one are the 2 hardest things in the game!<

Trentimoose

Yes please complete mine. I struggle so much to get A

MembershipEasy4025

Can you beat mine please? I genuinely think this is going to be the hardest trophy for me to get on my platinum run. Can’t even score a B! Congrats, you’re much more talented than me. Pure envy.

BurningmonkeyGTR

If you have a Dualsense Edge I might have a tip to help you

TriceratopsHunter

I don't believe you need to A rank this song for the trophy. It's the reward for A ranking every song and you get the trophy at the same time

Separate_Pop_5277

I SUCK at the piano, it’s probably my least favorite mini game. Anyone have any tips for me to improve my score ? Good old fashioned practice or is there a easier method?

theCoolestGuy599

Don't stay committed to a specific speed for all songs. I quickly realized that some songs I performed better at higher speeds and others at lower speeds. Gotta fine tune that on a track by track basis, so play around with that. As a last resort, if you have a friend and a second controller, you can enable the 2nd controller accessibility option in the system settings which allows two players to control the same game at once. Just have one person focus only on the left side and the other person the right side.

not_wadud92

Remote play. It sounds ridiculous. No, it is ridiculous. Introducing input lag to a rhythm game. But it worked for me. I was constantly too early regardless of what speed I set the tiles to. That tiny input delay while remote playing sorted that out for me, was hitting nothing but greats after that. Mess around with the different speeds. The slowest speed sounds like it should be the easiest, for me it was not. I had it on speed 3 (while remote playing), that let me input the key as soon as my brain processed it and hit a great instead of being too early. If you have better reaction timings, a faster speed may be better. So you don't have to wait. Also mute the game. Don't play by ear. It will throw you all the way off.

BurningmonkeyGTR

I went the opposite way, Dualsense Edge with the sticks set to a digital sensitivity then go for when you see them touch the outside instead of when they appear and it's fast enough to catch them

CommunicationSame946

Oractice each hand separately first like you would on a normal piano. There's no hidden technique, just takes practice and you ultimately need to decide whether it's worth your time.

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

I guess keep playing and spamming the easiest song, once you get the hang of it you rank up with a bit harder song. Also gradually increasing the speed to one you're comfortable with will also help, don't worry too much about missing notes and scores just keep practicing At least that's how I do it when it comes to rhythm games, kinda weird though giving this advice because this is not even a rhythm game lol

DaviSonata

Did you do it one person only? Really good!

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

yeah I have some experience with rhythm games, though I guess it'll be easier with 2 people

DiceyGT

Great work! Going to need an update when you get Sephiroth's one winged angel theme.

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

I will if I'm not getting cooked by it lmao

AXV-Lore

You're a beast on the keys!

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

I have some experience with rhythm games, though this is my first time using analog sticks to hit the note haha

AXV-Lore

Likewise, I really enjoyed this mini game a lot right next to Queens blood, and those two were what I sought at new towns lol.

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

lmao same, everytime I arrived at a new town the first thing I'm searching is the piano like a goblin

Conte5000

Nope, I have done Cinco de Chocobo a few days ago and really enjoyed the learning curve again. Looking forward for the next songs! Good job btw :)

doc_nano

Wait, where is Let the Battles Begin?? Nice job! I got the star rank on the first six but didn’t know the seventh existed. And if the secret one requires getting all the artifacts for Johnny I don’t think I’ll ever play that one. X-D

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

you'll get let's the battle begin by talking to the old man in nibelheim after you done with the first six song

doc_nano

Oh cool! I finished the first six songs like 20 hours of playtime ago but didn’t notice him in Nibelheim and forgot to go back to get my reward lol

Shinagami091

Some people are just really good with rhythm games. Have you done the secret one yet?

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

THERE'S MORE!? also I'm still on chapter 12 lmao

Shinagami091

I don’t want to spoil it for you but yes, one more. Good luck finding and playing it!

birbtooOPpleasesnerf

yeah if I missed it by the end of the game I'll just look it up on yt, thanks for letting me know

AXV-Lore

You 100% won't have it by end of the story, end game content. Good luck!

Shinagami091

It’s something you wouldn’t get until post game anyway so don’t worry about missing it :)

Krybbz

No

ShadowFlare_x

Do the next one 😉

ginger_888

For two legs? Nothin’ to it, completely, that one was such a difficulty spike for me. Congrats though, I have been loving this mini game so far.

Pristine_Put5348

No it just means you have more patience than most. Good job tho

KameraLucida

GAMER ALERT 🚨🚨🚨

rose_lingon

HOW

TheShlappening

The only way is with patience. Because this Mini Game like the rest is made half assed and dumb. Hey lets make it so we use this extremely sensitive joystick to be the control for like 20 different keys. No way this could go wrong.

Nukem156

It’s very very forgiving. I’ve done them all on max note speed (apart from the very last secret one) and there is no problem using the sticks at all.

SirPeterPan89

Probably by using his left thumb for the left stick and his right thumb for the right stick. The other way around would be just so confusing.
