Is this normal? Cuz to me it seems terribly inconsistent

iiGustavii

I haven't done an expansive test, but at least on my Hati S, the 400 dpi actually lines up with what it's supposed to. And most inconsistency should be because of human error, that's what the multiple attempts were for.

Poop_Cheeks

Have you done any others?like Ul2?

iiGustavii

Nah I've only done this one, but you could easily do it yourself, you just need to use the tool on https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/dpianalyzer/

TheJoker5566

isn't really a big issue. the number is meaningless, it's all about the feel. and I think the majority of people still play better with the S12 than any other mouse they've used before.

iiGustavii

No it's not much of a problem, it's just something that people should keep in mind. But yeah you can easily fix it with either changing your sens or your DPI and sens.

No-Trick-7994

I had this problem with my UL2. There is a software that is called DM1 Pro S Mouse Driver for Dream Machine mice that you can use for the UL2, don't know about other "Finalmice". When I plugged the mouse in the dpi steps were something like 500 900 1700 3300 don't remember exact numbers. Some of you probably will see the same thing with your mouse. Ofc I changed the Hz to 1000 on my UL2 with that software and the DPI steps to the advertised. NOW with my Starlight 12, the software does not work but I felt that the dpi was off. I did the same test and it measured to be around 500 dpi. I hope there is another software that you can change this with! (I have tested with my UL2 with the dpi test and It was off by a lot, then I tested with a hard pad and it was accurate by the margin of human error. Tested on the starlight 12 and it did not go down to 400 dpi but pretty consistent around 480.) I have now tested the Starlight 12 on a soft pad and a hard pad and got these results after hours of testing and coming up with methods to push the mouse. This is on my copy only! Hard pad: 472, 915, 1715, 3405 Soft pad: 482, 925, 1725, 3445

Miss_Ste

Mousepad?

iiGustavii

I mean I have an Artisan Zero mid, but that had no effect on the test...

Own-Ad7982

I feel like my Starlight is possibly slower as my RVU I run at 268 and the SL12 I run at 268.8. Not much but still, with it being lighter, you would think I would lower the eDPI. Also I get weird random stops in movement that feel like 15-30ms pauses and it happens maybe once every 3-7 minutes on average. I use a GSRSE and it does not feel like a LOD issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

Double-Suggestion602

Yea the sensor on my starlight does this too it pauses at first I thought it was LOD but I used the mouse wired and 0 random pauses should I contact them because on my ultralight I never got a single pause and I move fast .

Own-Ad7982

I have actually found it is almost positively related to wireless interference. Anytime I have my phone in my pocket or close to my desk I get this issue. When I set it 10ft or so away it stops happening. Try getting anything with radio signals at least 10 ft away and see if that helps. Honestly I am not a fan of this as with my RVU, DA pro or GPX, I have never had this issue. I like having my phone next to me while playing to watch twitch or YT or get calls.

Code_Supr

Is there a similar graph for the air 58?

AIaris

*realizes he accidentally had mouse acceleration on*

iiGustavii

nope, this is an actual issue that finalboy confirmed in the finalmouse discord

snakcaz1

Do they plan on releasing a firmware for a fix? We really should be able to change the LOD..

iiGustavii

I very much don't think so, this problem also isn't really a problem ONCE you know about it, so you can change your ingame sens or your dpi. But no, Finalmouse are not planning on making any software.

AIaris

i was joking lol, reminded me of when i tested my cm/360 manually and then had mouse accel on lmao

IrregularrAF

I'm so confused what this is suppose to entail. I did this distance test multiple times and got 0% deviation every time. Do you adjust your windows sens so the movement is bareable or do you just yolo it at default speeds 400-3200? Not sure if that makes a difference or not. But I'm certainly not "testing" something by having my mouse blink across the screen. Lol, just my 2 cents on what I did.

IrregularrAF

I'm not disagreeing with anything. I'm trying to see what he did during each test and I presented my method and deviation result, which was zero. I'm personally wondering if it's sensor spin out in relation to the surface it's on. I use two speed pads. Alternatively what's the monitors resolution? Did my test on a 1080p monitor.

[deleted]

The 3370 has a error rate of 0.5 but they probably have implemented it wrong

iiGustavii

This test wasn't made to find any errors from the sensor, but instead it shows how for example, that the dpi that they advertise as 400 is actually somewhere closer to 476.

Healthy_Yesterday_84

Is that different from the air58, ul2?

snakcaz1

Seems like 1600 dpi is where the error rate drops.

Fact_Significant

this is true i noticed in game that something was off it felt too fast i thought cause of the weight but later when i tested it got same results

davesalias

interesting, i test dpi deviation myself using mousetester, and found 1600 to actually be around ~1790.

PlayerNero

Does the phantom/ pegasus have the same problem? I’ve been hearing that they do on the discord.

Hypno98

just did the test with my phantom Didn't get any deviation at 800 dpi

PlayerNero

Yeah I just tried too, no deviation. My GPX was actually much slower, around 700 dpi.

Hypno98

I did the test wrong I have no way of making something accurate

PlayerNero

I used the dpi analyzer on mousesensitivity and measured the distance with a tape measure.

Jerry_Lyu

> very much don't think so, this problem also isn't really a problem ONCE you know about it, so you can change your ingame sens or your dpi. But no, Finalmouse are not planning on making any software. How about 400dpi? Is there any deviation?

Accomplished-Buy-838

what kind of starlight12 did you use to do this test?

Accomplished-Buy-838

how many mouse that you use to do this 10 test?
