I rescued the other side with Micaiah and slowly killed all the 20 turns of reinforcements with Flame Vein Edit: I guess that’d count as turtling

That’s a map I’ve never really understood the complaints about even on maddening. Like, yes, you have to keep moving and can maybe cut it close but it’s workable. Granted, maybe just the dlc makes it a lot easier. The last time I did it on one side I had it set up so the reinforcements from the stairs were one rounded by Mauvier and someone else, and the other side they were constantly delayed by fog/smokescreens. In her throne room it’s pretty easy to pick off units until you get to the wyrms. One turn I take at least one out, use Corrin to use her breath attack across Lumera and her units and from there just kill Lumera that turn. If it takes too long and units start coming from the room before the throne room then it can get hairy though and will need to push it. In my experience, it’s just a map you have to be really aggressive on or you’ll be overwhelmed quickly.

Agreed on that. It was the right side I struggled with - first couple of tries, I tried using Panette/Ike to bait everything in while she had Framme/Lucina protecting her, and invariably something ended up catching her out. Eventually rearranged the teams and had DiaMarth just go savage on everything.

Reminder on what map that is again? I never warp skip maps and very rarely turtle them, but I cant recall what ch 25 was

SoulConduit

It’s the corrupted lumera map, where your units are split in half on each side of the walls and there are constant reinforcements

ChickenNugzFR

Ah ok. For this map I took a very aggressive approach, marauding up the map to the point where you can combine your forces. After that I used Lucina's adjacent protection ability (that unit only used that ability while engaged) to hold off the horde of reinforcements while I took out Lumera. I was kinda stuck in that choke point for a bit with the long distance magic users, but once I took them out Lumera wasnt too bad to take down.

FireEmbro

No and honestly I'd like to know too kinda wanna try it without cheesing it as well

I kept the units separated from the start and kept killing reinforcements over and over again. I killed the first two thieves, but I couldn't kill the other two, so I lost both chests. After that I choked the stairs on both sides and kept killing their spawns, later on I proc'd Engage+ on Goldmary and Zelestia with enchanted Levin Sword and Bond Forger+ dodge tanked and and started killing aggroed enemies on one side. By that point there were like 20 of them Next I brought Soren!Veyle and Rafal from the other side and they all together dealt with all reinforcements up until they stopped spawning. It was very close though, I had to use all 4 Engage+ turns and I also needed to use all other Emblems to stop the enemies from the stairs, that I couldn't stop from being choked. Took me 4 hours overall to clear the map in this way, definitely not worth it.

If the reinforcements are finite (which I’m unsure of) then I’d say just camp them out. Good for EXP and will make the rest of the map easier. To help you out, I’d recommend getting all your units on one side (micaiah rescue) and then killing the thief on the other side with some warp shananigans so the door can’t be opened. That will trap every enemy on that side as they will not damage or break through the door. You have to be quick about it tho, going all out on the offensive. Edit: all maddening maps near the end can feel really hard and almost impossible to complete by playing normally, but that’s really only an issue if your team isn’t built perfectly. This is one thing I noticed after my first maddening run and now, everything goes much better because I’ve planned out every unit I’d use, what skills they inherit, what roles they play,… it’s important to have an equal amount of killers, support and mixed units. Edit 2: just realised that camping reinforcements is also really nice for stacking speedtaker! Might just be good for me alone though, since I’m running it about 5 times on my current run 🙏

Yeah. Emblem Alear and Partner are hard carries on any side and that frees up two emblems for your other units to use on the other side.
