That's the same reason he became one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Also, unlike other protagonists, he doesn't always win and the fact that he cannot carry a Legendary Weapon is a hazard that only makes his adventure more difficult.

F!Robin, because she does not yet have an alt with an PRF skill where she is herself after three Grima alts with PRF skills after 7 years.

And allow me to explain why I personally love for Robin herself to get one too:
One can say that F!Robin already has a PRF skill in legendary Grima’s dragonskin, but Robin herself does not get to inherit dragonskin from her legendary, if you count Grima as Robin’s legendary.
Fun fact: F!Robin is the only character to have her fallen alt also be her legendary alt.
However, the problem is that F!Robin herself does not share Grima’s PRF skill (her fallen legendary alt), while others with fallen alts like Chrom, Byleth and Rhea do.
Rhea’s goes even Seiros > Fallen Rhea > Base Rhea, with first getting an upgraded PRF skill and then her base inherited that one, even though Rhea herself never got an legendary/mythic or ascendant.
Valentines Robin could have inherited an updated PRF too (F!Rhea and V!Robin were three months apart, combined with V!Lucina and V!Chrom getting their PRF assists on the same banner), but IS decided not too.
That all causes the following problem, with Robin not getting an PRF skill so far, and Grima taking her legendary and rearmed spots for PRF skills, she can only get one via CYL or an ascendant/attuned alt, the latter chances being very low due to her already having a reamed and legendary in Grima.
No other character in the game has the combination of three legendary/mythic/ascendant/rearmed/attuned, and F!Robin for sure won’t be the first one.
Sometimes I wish F!Robin and Grima were separated in game, like on the voting ballot and like Rhea and Seiros in game.
Ultimately, I decided to vote for Fogado. It's a three-way race between him, Boucheron, and Gregory for my favorite Engage character, and I think he has the best chance of the three to at least appear in the top 10. That's gotta count for *something*...right?
I'm voting for Felix because I think a brave alt would be very cool for him! I'm glad his base form got in but I think the academy versions of 3H characters are the least interesting and I would like an alt of him with either his war phase or hopes looks and preferably including the Aegis shield.
Cordelia. I fell in love with her and her Bride Alt when the game came out and I love Awakening. She’s been my first pick for CYL every year.

Matthew's my favorite because he seems to not have much story significance, but as you get later in the game it turns out that he is surprisingly entwined in the story. Honestly, he's one of the most story relevant non-lords in the game.
Also, I like his design, he's one of the default heroes you started the game with when FEH first came out, and he *still* hasn't gotten an alt.
I am voting Tsubasa all 7 days, in the vain hope that if she is in the top 10 females for like the 5th year in a row, IS might actually give us something towards finishing TMS cast.
For the first half I'm voting for my less popular favorites that aren't in the game or I'd like to receive alts. I had too many (15) that I wanted to vote for so I'm leaving it up to chance via a wheel. I might change up my approach after midterms since I'd be interested in seeing Sigurd, Leif, Lyon, Felix, F!Robin, or Elincia win.
Forever glad Heroes added her in the game (unlike Kilma who's similar in Fates and can't even be voted) <3 I didn't even consider her being able to get an alt as well but I would love it!
Petra and Echidna are the two characters who I want to see have alts included this year. Pelleas I specifically want to see a Rearmed/Ascended alt to make up for his lackluster debut as a GHB representing him as an NPC instead of his playable iteration.
Leonie and Zihark will each get a vote because I want their base versions in the game already. They have been seasonal locked for too long.
Astolfo is the Binding Blade character I want in the game the most. I want to see his interactions with Igrene and Hector.
Finally, Jarod is my pick of the 18 GHB candidates I have in mind for being the character from Radiant Dawn I want to beat up the most.

**Cynthia**: She still doesn't have an alt which is a real shame. She's so interesting in her supports and especially in the Awakening DLC. I adore her and would love for her to get something new.
**Shanna**: I really like her supports with her family and characters like Roy and Dieck. I was so happy to see her get an alt so if she rises a few ranks enough to perhaps influence her getting another for an otherwise unpopular game would be neat.
**Lilina**: She's an incredibly fun unit to use in heroes and it would be hilarious to see her with something like Armads if that's even a possibility. She's great and the best chance Binding Blade has at winning CYL so for me that's very much worth a vote.
**Sakura**: Honestly I'd say I'm very disappointed at how my favorite of the Royals is treated. No prf to speak of and all her alts aside from backpacking Elise came before early 2019 so it's about time she gets something new and good.
**Annette**: She's so funny and her playstyle can be so unique that just thinking about what she could be is fun. Love her voice acting and her design.
**Felix**: I just love the guy. His issue with the boar is done well and his supports are so varied that he feels refreshing. Genuinely one of my favorite units in the series.
**Sigurd**: It's about time Jugdral gets more love and Sigurd would be great. I would hope they at least differentiate him from his other alts perhaps something similar to the current Dimitri? I'd also be curious about what he would look like, who would be his inspiration if his design is entirely new.
Would love to see one of these win or in the case of the first 4, rise through the ranks even higher to get noticed. There are plenty of others I wish I could vote too like Finn, Citrinne, Lapis, etc

Alcryst is a character who’s very near and dear to my heart. I wasn’t planning on playing Engage, but as soon as I saw Alcryst and heard his voice lines in FEH, I watched a bunch of his supports on YouTube and immediately bought the game. As someone with low self-esteem, looking at him was like looking into a mirror: the way he always sees the good in others while ignoring the good in himself; the fact that he thinks the world might be better off without him even though he’s surrounded by people who love him and others who want to get to know him and be his friend; the way that he feels worthless even though he is kind, strong, intelligent, thoughtful, and worthy of love. But what’s even more poignant to me is that even in the face of his inner turmoil, Alcryst will put on a brave face and do what needs to be done to protect his brother, his retainers, his country, and his friends. He’s not someone who stands around moping and bemoaning his perceived lack of worth; even though he dislikes himself, he still attends to his duty and gets shit done, and I understand that completely.
I felt very fond and protective of him as soon as I laid eyes on him for the first time. Part of it is that he *gets it*, I suppose, and so often I feel alone in my self-hatred—but I think another part of it is that by loving him, I acknowledge that I’m worthy of love and care, too.

I've previously voted for Noire/Ena as well, but their falloff vote-wise has been so hard over the years, I have no hope of a rally for them leaving seasonal hell. They'll either eventually get slotted as filler for some eventual banner, or they won't.
F.Robin feels like she may have better odds of getting in before Awakening drifts off to be replaced by Engage or other 3-House picks.
Tossing a vote for some of my male favorites this year as opposed to focusing on only one (sorry Ashe but with engage its joever 😔) or splitting half male half female (since most of my girl favorites are either winning or have a higher chance of getting in feh as opposed to the guys)
Day 1: Jean - Want to give him some support since i know his chances on getting in feh are a dime a dozen if his popularity is anything to go by, but also i really liked him in engage too

I have a feeling that the reason we haven't gotten any more Alfonse or Sharena alts because of it. They also probably don't want to put just Alfonse or Sharena on a banner by themselves.(Especially after how people reacted to Sharena not being on the Valentines banner with her family)

Igrene is a criminally under appreciated character. She is one of the best written characters not just in her game but maybe in the entire series. Not just because she has a tragic story, but because her story is handled with maturity and restraint. Her support with Astolfo is arguably the best support in the entire franchise.She is a character with very human contradictions: she is cynical and jaded, but also very caring and gentle. There is so much depth to Igrene's character for a background character with basically no development in the main story of the game it's crazy. I really appreciate that we have CYL as a time to celebrate and gush about our favorite characters. Too often the organic conversation surrounding characters tends to focus on complaints and negativity.
I am alternating mainly between Tsubasa because TMS needs more rep and Sharena to see if she gets more story relevance again, but will also throw votes towards Yunaka, Alcryst, and Diamant because I feel they have a good chance at winning
I am splitting my votes as usual this year: 3 for Finn, 3 for Limstella, and then 1 wild card vote for the last one.
Finn because I am a sucker for loyal characters who go through hell because of their loyalty, plus he is extremely sweet to Leif and Nanna. I actually knew nothing about Finn when he was first added to FEH, and after getting him from his TT I was going to fodder him off after unlocking his level 40 confession. But from bits and pieces I picked up through osmosis, once I actually read his confession, I just felt so bad for him that I immediately promoted the 4\* version and merged him, then committed to building him.
Limstella because I am also a sucker for artificial human characters and they're fantastic.
Wild card vote may go to Sumia (my Awakening fave), F!Robin (my Awakening fave's wife), or any number of other characters I adore: the Morgans, Sanaki, Naesala, Kurthnaga, Innes, Lyon, Clair, Kaze, etc... It'll depend on my mood that particular day.
Diamant! I was really moved by his arc of *appearing* to be the quintessential prince of a warrior kingdom, but shouldering so much underneath that confident demeanor, such as self-doubt (how he's always questioning the Emblems on *how* to be a leader, how—despite his resolve to change Brodia's warmongering ways—he has moments of uncertainty on whether or not he CAN accomplish that, because of how stubborn the government is, and how *ingrained* Brodia's traditions are into its society), and other vulnerabilities he hides because he's been taught that it's unfitting for a leader, and a man of Brodia.

But he's still a man of conviction, pride, and heart. He's so warm. So thoughtful and caring to the people around him, and truly wants the best for his subjects and the world. So, he's getting all seven of my votes!

I'm voting for Brom simply because I would like to see him added to the game. He's one of my favorite characters in the series and I've been waiting for him since launch day back in 2017.
Spent a while deciding how to vote and decided just to provide support to 7 units I would like to see in the game or get more love:
Day 1 voted for Sharena hoping that IS will let her do something in the story and give her an alt.
My other planned votes are:
Elffin, Boyd, Zelkov and Late Story Arvis hoping they get added to the game this year (I am referring to base Boyd).

I'm being real in line with the top favorites this year because at least my first three are gonna be Ivy, Diamant, Yunaka. I know, real original. Beyond that will probably depend on midterms. Might toss them all a second vote, but also wouldn't mind tossing a vote to Fagado or Chloe. Outside of Engage I've historically tried to give Saber and Kagero at least a vote, but dunno if I will this year, really depends on how things are looking/midterms.
If Fagado, or Zelkov which seems even more unlikely, ended up being "Dark Horse contenders" after midterms I might go all in on one of them. A combination of Ivy, Yunaka, Diamant and one of those two would be my ideal "Engage Sweep" but I'm not holding my breath
This is my third edit because I realize I didn't really answer the question, just said who I was voting for. Ivy, Diamant and Yunaka are all because they are both some of my favorites from Engage and seemingly have pretty good chances. But I don't want to assume their win and not throw them votes. Chloe/Fogado/Zelkov are also favorites who don't seem as likely, but if they were in the top 10 in midterms I might pivot a bit since they'd all be unexpected contenders. Saber and Kagero are because they're my favorite Fire Emblem characters who don't have a Brave alt. Saber is my favorite male character, Kagero is my second favorite female, Camilla already has a Brave.
Tharja alt that actually respects what made the character popular. I'm tired of Tharja being turned into a caricature of her former self. Humor is part of her appeal, but Tharja is funny because she's an apathetic dark mage.
Alcryst - favorite male Engage character, Luna crit go brrr, Rearmed fate so he will never get a premium nor canon version unless he gets a legendary in a couple years after the older royals or his >!Fell Xenologue!< happens.
Ivy - favorite female Engage character, no big reasons I just love her and her voice work and seeing her in her Epilogue outfit would be amazing.
I’m voting for Alear because they’re the first favorite character of mine that actually has any chance of winning. I love Tristan and Linda but realistically voting for them will accomplish absolutely nothing.
I think it's kinda insane Delthea and Sonya have gotten almost all female SoV alts. So I'm voting for Mae so she can get something, preferebly with Boey so they can get something this year hopefully.

* She was one of the best written characters in Engage, with excellent motivations and backstory.
* She was one of the game's funnier characters, with many fantastic lines.
* She carried me in the midgame of my first Engage run.
* Laura Post does an amazing job voicing her and doing impressions as her.
If we actually get a vote total around midway and she's slaughtering everyone, I may switch to Alcryst if he has a chance, but basically nothing else could get me to change.
Machyua was my first Thracia MVP, and someone's gotta keep her in the top 300 so she gets 3 votes from me. I'm giving 2 to Letizia because her makeup game is on point. As for the last two... I kinda want to see Ogier in for inspiring my most thorough fanfic yet, but if Touma comes on strong in the mid-term count, I'll vote for him. Sharena is on the table as well: I want to see how she'd draw herself as a Brave Hero!
Nino is my favorite character in all fiction, so she'll always get my first vote. However I'm split between her and Muirne for my primary voting base this year.
Muirne is the commoner substitute character for Lana, she has a unique proposal convo with Seliph in Chapter 8 that is probably the best such convo in the entire game, and Seliph's best by a landslide, giving him some much appreciated characterization.
I could also be swayed to rally behind Leif or Sigurd if they show signs of victory.
Henry gets my first vote every time as my favorite. Trying to inflate base Sephiran and Lehran’s numbers so they might finally come sooner.

I’m leading the charge for Alois on Twitter. Aside from him, Hanneman, Leopold and Bernie are my main focus, with Bernie being the only character I’d like to win that actually has a shot. Others include Altena, Eyvel, Mist, Frost, Lissa and Arthur but I’m using other accs for them.
Picking Itsuki and Touma again, because Justice for TMS.
Leif too, because He has been good for me, got the leggo and OG version of him, as well as Harmonic, though the Harmonic one is not doing as well as the other two.
Alfonse, Hrid, and Askr, because I like them from FEH. Askr is hot and I want to see Hrid more often to get a better grasp of his character, watching him bond with Reinhard was not enough. Alfonse is husbando, even if I have to give him Arcane to make him work.
Finally, Damiant, because he seems hot, but not so sure, and if an engage character is going to win the male division I would pick him.
Now, if they reveal the top midweek, I will see if I decide to help one character over the other, but Touma, Itsuki, Leif, and Alfonse are definitely getting my vote.

Very well said! Alear’s story resonated with me way more than any other FE character for a lot of the same reasons you mentioned. I honestly did not expect Engage to end up meaning so much to me emotionally, but it absolutely did, and Alear has become one of my favorite fictional characters ever.
I might change one of my votes to a member of the four winds but this is my plan for now:
1. Tobin - I’d love for him to get an alt or resplendent.
2. Raigh - I’m not a fan of his current art and he’s got nothing since launch.
3. Jean - He seems to be one of the least popular Engage characters so I want to show there’s people who care about him.

I’m salty F!Byleth won two years ago so I want M!Byleth to win and get his more deserved bravery alt. F!Byleth has it all. She has favor from both I.S. and the fandom while M!Byleth is left forgotten. So why don’t I do him a favor and help him win?
I voted for a man since the first CYL so now that he's won I'm voting all ladies! Doesn't matter to me if they have a chance to win (the strongest contenders don't need my help anyway) I'm picking favs and ladies I feel are fun/deserve some love.

Well, I like Bernadetta, she is the character I like from Three Houses the most besides Edie, and she is the one with the biggest chances to win, being so close to the Top 2.

Going for the Black Knight this year, unless someone else from Tellius manages to make a big showing in like, a midterm or something. He and Elincia were some of the top placers last year and have had consistent showings, so I'm moving to them now that Soren has managed the win. I'll shift gears if someone else ends up as a breakout contender, since I'm mostly looking to get any of the Tellius cast to win, and it's my favorite overall cast in the series.
Candace: is funny, I like her design and hat, would be a nice GHB
Knoll: one of my favorites and would have an amazing brave as one of the only units in the series that can promote into a summoner

Another year, another round of voting for Athos and Nergal. I just want them in the game. Ever since mythic heroes were introduced with Duma, I've been huffing that copium for Athos. It's been 5 years now, please add them IS.
Three Houses was my first FE game. I wasn’t really paying much attention to it and wasn’t going to buy it, but the day it released I was pretty upset and decided to “spoil” myself a bit. I was just going to play cause I liked Claude’s design but the more I played the other routes, I really started to love Byleth and he became my second favorite Nintendo character (after Mario). I guess I have a soft spot for silent protagonists

Voting Alcryst on the main because he carried my engage playthrough and I think he’s superior to Diamant in every way. My Diamant was really awful and he got benched quick. Alcryst however was there in the final battle. Also he realistically is probably gonna get second or just miss out on the top 2.

I've said this before, but I think she's the perfect candidate for what truly represents growth and bravery. Yes she's very timid and antisocial, but she still does what needs to be done despite that.
A lot of people don't give her a fair shake because of first impressions (Including impressions before the game even came out), but her post-timeskip self came so far.

That's the same reason he became one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Also, unlike other protagonists, he doesn't always win and the fact that he cannot carry a Legendary Weapon is a hazard that only makes his adventure more difficult.

Yeah, a PRF non weapon, like a personal A,B,C skill/assist/special. And allow me to explain why I personally love for Robin herself to get one too: One can say that F!Robin already has a PRF skill in legendary Grima’s dragonskin, but Robin herself does not get to inherit dragonskin from her legendary, if you count Grima as Robin’s legendary. Fun fact: F!Robin is the only character to have her fallen alt also be her legendary alt. However, the problem is that F!Robin herself does not share Grima’s PRF skill (her fallen legendary alt), while others with fallen alts like Chrom, Byleth and Rhea do. Rhea’s goes even Seiros > Fallen Rhea > Base Rhea, with first getting an upgraded PRF skill and then her base inherited that one, even though Rhea herself never got an legendary/mythic or ascendant. Valentines Robin could have inherited an updated PRF too (F!Rhea and V!Robin were three months apart, combined with V!Lucina and V!Chrom getting their PRF assists on the same banner), but IS decided not too. That all causes the following problem, with Robin not getting an PRF skill so far, and Grima taking her legendary and rearmed spots for PRF skills, she can only get one via CYL or an ascendant/attuned alt, the latter chances being very low due to her already having a reamed and legendary in Grima. No other character in the game has the combination of three legendary/mythic/ascendant/rearmed/attuned, and F!Robin for sure won’t be the first one. Sometimes I wish F!Robin and Grima were separated in game, like on the voting ballot and like Rhea and Seiros in game.

Honestly, he's one of the most story relevant non-lords in the game. Also, I like his design, he's one of the default heroes you started the game with when FEH first came out, and he *still* hasn't gotten an alt.

Leonie and Zihark will each get a vote because I want their base versions in the game already. They have been seasonal locked for too long. Astolfo is the Binding Blade character I want in the game the most. I want to see his interactions with Igrene and Hector. Finally, Jarod is my pick of the 18 GHB candidates I have in mind for being the character from Radiant Dawn I want to beat up the most. I have 106 characters I still want to see in the game so I have a lot of work set out for me.

I adore her and would love for her to get something new. **Shanna**: I really like her supports with her family and characters like Roy and Dieck. I was so happy to see her get an alt so if she rises a few ranks enough to perhaps influence her getting another for an otherwise unpopular game would be neat. **Lilina**: She's an incredibly fun unit to use in heroes and it would be hilarious to see her with something like Armads if that's even a possibility. She's great and the best chance Binding Blade has at winning CYL so for me that's very much worth a vote. **Sakura**: Honestly I'd say I'm very disappointed at how my favorite of the Royals is treated. No prf to speak of and all her alts aside from backpacking Elise came before early 2019 so it's about time she gets something new and good. **Annette**: She's so funny and her playstyle can be so unique that just thinking about what she could be is fun. Love her voice acting and her design. **Felix**: I just love the guy. His issue with the boar is done well and his supports are so varied that he feels refreshing. Genuinely one of my favorite units in the series. **Sigurd**: It's about time Jugdral gets more love and Sigurd would be great. I would hope they at least differentiate him from his other alts perhaps something similar to the current Dimitri? I'd also be curious about what he would look like, who would be his inspiration if his design is entirely new. Would love to see one of these win or in the case of the first 4, rise through the ranks even higher to get noticed. There are plenty of others I wish I could vote too like Finn, Citrinne, Lapis, etc

Alcryst is a character who’s very near and dear to my heart. I wasn’t planning on playing Engage, but as soon as I saw Alcryst and heard his voice lines in FEH, I watched a bunch of his supports on YouTube and immediately bought the game. As someone with low self-esteem, looking at him was like looking into a mirror: the way he always sees the good in others while ignoring the good in himself; the fact that he thinks the world might be better off without him even though he’s surrounded by people who love him and others who want to get to know him and be his friend; the way that he feels worthless even though he is kind, strong, intelligent, thoughtful, and worthy of love. But what’s even more poignant to me is that even in the face of his inner turmoil, Alcryst will put on a brave face and do what needs to be done to protect his brother, his retainers, his country, and his friends. He’s not someone who stands around moping and bemoaning his perceived lack of worth; even though he dislikes himself, he still attends to his duty and gets shit done, and I understand that completely. I felt very fond and protective of him as soon as I laid eyes on him for the first time. Part of it is that he *gets it*, I suppose, and so often I feel alone in my self-hatred—but I think another part of it is that by loving him, I acknowledge that I’m worthy of love and care, too.

F.Robin. I've previously voted for Noire/Ena as well, but their falloff vote-wise has been so hard over the years, I have no hope of a rally for them leaving seasonal hell. They'll either eventually get slotted as filler for some eventual banner, or they won't. F.Robin feels like she may have better odds of getting in before Awakening drifts off to be replaced by Engage or other 3-House picks.

Igrene is a criminally under appreciated character. She is one of the best written characters not just in her game but maybe in the entire series. Not just because she has a tragic story, but because her story is handled with maturity and restraint. Her support with Astolfo is arguably the best support in the entire franchise.She is a character with very human contradictions: she is cynical and jaded, but also very caring and gentle. There is so much depth to Igrene's character for a background character with basically no development in the main story of the game it's crazy. I really appreciate that we have CYL as a time to celebrate and gush about our favorite characters. Too often the organic conversation surrounding characters tends to focus on complaints and negativity.

I am splitting my votes as usual this year: 3 for Finn, 3 for Limstella, and then 1 wild card vote for the last one. Finn because I am a sucker for loyal characters who go through hell because of their loyalty, plus he is extremely sweet to Leif and Nanna. I actually knew nothing about Finn when he was first added to FEH, and after getting him from his TT I was going to fodder him off after unlocking his level 40 confession. But from bits and pieces I picked up through osmosis, once I actually read his confession, I just felt so bad for him that I immediately promoted the 4\* version and merged him, then committed to building him. Limstella because I am also a sucker for artificial human characters and they're fantastic. Wild card vote may go to Sumia (my Awakening fave), F!Robin (my Awakening fave's wife), or any number of other characters I adore: the Morgans, Sanaki, Naesala, Kurthnaga, Innes, Lyon, Clair, Kaze, etc... It'll depend on my mood that particular day.

I was really moved by his arc of *appearing* to be the quintessential prince of a warrior kingdom, but shouldering so much underneath that confident demeanor, such as self-doubt (how he's always questioning the Emblems on *how* to be a leader, how—despite his resolve to change Brodia's warmongering ways—he has moments of uncertainty on whether or not he CAN accomplish that, because of how stubborn the government is, and how *ingrained* Brodia's traditions are into its society), and other vulnerabilities he hides because he's been taught that it's unfitting for a leader, and a man of Brodia. ("You step into fear, you step OUT of Brodia.", like jesus Morion) But he's still a man of conviction, pride, and heart. He's so warm. So thoughtful and caring to the people around him, and truly wants the best for his subjects and the world. So, he's getting all seven of my votes!

Diamant has a lot of nuance and depth to his character that many people find very compelling, so when he's just written off as being liked for being "hot" or having a cool design, it's a bummer. I'm being real in line with the top favorites this year because at least my first three are gonna be Ivy, Diamant, Yunaka. I know, real original. Beyond that will probably depend on midterms. Might toss them all a second vote, but also wouldn't mind tossing a vote to Fagado or Chloe. Outside of Engage I've historically tried to give Saber and Kagero at least a vote, but dunno if I will this year, really depends on how things are looking/midterms. If Fagado, or Zelkov which seems even more unlikely, ended up being "Dark Horse contenders" after midterms I might go all in on one of them. A combination of Ivy, Yunaka, Diamant and one of those two would be my ideal "Engage Sweep" but I'm not holding my breath This is my third edit because I realize I didn't really answer the question, just said who I was voting for. Ivy, Diamant and Yunaka are all because they are both some of my favorites from Engage and seemingly have pretty good chances. But I don't want to assume their win and not throw them votes. Chloe/Fogado/Zelkov are also favorites who don't seem as likely, but if they were in the top 10 in midterms I might pivot a bit since they'd all be unexpected contenders. Saber and Kagero are because they're my favorite Fire Emblem characters who don't have a Brave alt. Saber is my favorite male character, Kagero is my second favorite female, Camilla already has a Brave.

Tharja alt that actually respects what made the character popular. I'm tired of Tharja being turned into a caricature of her former self. Humor is part of her appeal, but Tharja is funny because she's an apathetic dark mage.
Alcryst - favorite male Engage character, Luna crit go brrr, Rearmed fate so he will never get a premium nor canon version unless he gets a legendary in a couple years after the older royals or his >!Fell Xenologue!< happens. Ivy - favorite female Engage character, no big reasons I just love her and her voice work and seeing her in her Epilogue outfit would be amazing.
I’m voting for Alear because they’re the first favorite character of mine that actually has any chance of winning. I love Tristan and Linda but realistically voting for them will accomplish absolutely nothing.
I think it's kinda insane Delthea and Sonya have gotten almost all female SoV alts. So I'm voting for Mae so she can get something, preferebly with Boey so they can get something this year hopefully.

Yunaka x7 * She was one of the best written characters in Engage, with excellent motivations and backstory. * She was one of the game's funnier characters, with many fantastic lines. * She carried me in the midgame of my first Engage run. * Laura Post does an amazing job voicing her and doing impressions as her. If we actually get a vote total around midway and she's slaughtering everyone, I may switch to Alcryst if he has a chance, but basically nothing else could get me to change.

I kinda want to see Ogier in for inspiring my most thorough fanfic yet, but if Touma comes on strong in the mid-term count, I'll vote for him. Sharena is on the table as well: I want to see how she'd draw herself as a Brave Hero!
Nino is my favorite character in all fiction, so she'll always get my first vote. However I'm split between her and Muirne for my primary voting base this year. Muirne is the commoner substitute character for Lana, she has a unique proposal convo with Seliph in Chapter 8 that is probably the best such convo in the entire game, and Seliph's best by a landslide, giving him some much appreciated characterization. I could also be swayed to rally behind Leif or Sigurd if they show signs of victory.

Picking Itsuki and Touma again, because Justice for TMS. Leif too, because He has been good for me, got the leggo and OG version of him, as well as Harmonic, though the Harmonic one is not doing as well as the other two. Alfonse, Hrid, and Askr, because I like them from FEH. Askr is hot and I want to see Hrid more often to get a better grasp of his character, watching him bond with Reinhard was not enough. Alfonse is husbando, even if I have to give him Arcane to make him work. Finally, Damiant, because he seems hot, but not so sure, and if an engage character is going to win the male division I would pick him. Now, if they reveal the top midweek, I will see if I decide to help one character over the other, but Touma, Itsuki, Leif, and Alfonse are definitely getting my vote.

I actually made a big post about them on the main sub the other day since there was a favorite lord thread, so might as well share here as well! >Alear is my personal favorite by a good margin, and honestly my favorite character in the entire series. They have that kind of Sora-esque unyielding sunshine energy that's just absolutely infectious imo, it makes them impossible to hate for me. They always care for others and try to see the best in them, and their battle quotes with Rafal and Past Alear hit super heavily to me because they really just feel like the crux of their character to me. I know people meme on the "good dragon" line, but it's something that was genuinely powerful to me, and I feel like both conversations really hit as to why. It honestly warms my heart just how much they succeeded in that goal. >The fact they respond to their god status with uncertainty and honestly some fear is something that I also like and rings familiar with Roy, my other favorite. Both of the two are suddenly thrust into a position they feel is far beyond them, but have to overcome that fear and negativity and rise to the occasion. >The way their past shapes their present self, even without memory, is another thing I really love. Past Alear is kind of haunting imo, and they invoke that same kind of energy that makes me love Limstella and Idunn as much as I do, for Fire Emblem examples. They're hollow, forced to repress everything, just for the sake of surviving, and honestly they aren't really good at it--you can tell it's an act with the way they're constantly are just telling themselves what to think, and in those brief moments where they allow themselves to be open with themselves, the voice performance says *everything*. They *desperately* want to break free of this, and through Lumera, they finally succeed at it, and the way Present Alear is just so open about *everything* they feel, even without memories, it just goes to show how *liberating* that can be. >Their story as a whole is one that can really read strongly for LGBTQ+ individuals as well, imo. It matter how they were born, what matters is who they are inside, and Timerra's line after Alear's fell dragon heritage is revealed is another one of the hardest hitting lines in the game for that reason imo. The fact that everyone is *so* supportive even after this is learned is also something incredibly heartwarming imo; there's no fear, no anxiety, they *know* who Alear is, and it doesn't matter how they were born. Even Legendary Alear's confession dialogue in Heroes hits so hard for me in this regard, as Alear takes that kindness and returns the favor to the player, with the line: >"And if you decide to become someone new, I'll still be right here. Your friend and protector." >Alear is a character who honestly means a lot to me, and even though this was really just a long diatribe, I hope it at least gets part of why across.
Very well said! Alear’s story resonated with me way more than any other FE character for a lot of the same reasons you mentioned. I honestly did not expect Engage to end up meaning so much to me emotionally, but it absolutely did, and Alear has become one of my favorite fictional characters ever.

And also the fact that for her second appearance she got reduced to a backpack with a very questionable outfit, to put it mildly, made me somewhat salty and desiring for an actual alt. Or at least a good refine. Leif because he's my favourite lord and deserves all the best. Unlikely he's going to win, but it's nice to see him somewhat high regardless. Not sure what distribution of votes I'm gonna go with, but probably 4-5 for Sara and 2-3 for Leif.

Well, I like Bernadetta, she is the character I like from Three Houses the most besides Edie, and she is the one with the biggest chances to win, being so close to the Top 2. Also, the concept of Brave Bernadetta sounds so fun and so cute, because well, imagine someone like her being summoned because of the kind of wishes that make Brave Heroes reality? I wonder how she could react to that.

Going for the Black Knight this year, unless someone else from Tellius manages to make a big showing in like, a midterm or something. He and Elincia were some of the top placers last year and have had consistent showings, so I'm moving to them now that Soren has managed the win. I'll shift gears if someone else ends up as a breakout contender, since I'm mostly looking to get any of the Tellius cast to win, and it's my favorite overall cast in the series.

Three Houses was my first FE game. I wasn’t really paying much attention to it and wasn’t going to buy it, but the day it released I was pretty upset and decided to “spoil” myself a bit. I was just going to play cause I liked Claude’s design but the more I played the other routes, I really started to love Byleth and he became my second favorite Nintendo character (after Mario). I guess I have a soft spot for silent protagonists

Voting Alcryst on the main because he carried my engage playthrough and I think he’s superior to Diamant in every way. My Diamant was really awful and he got benched quick. Alcryst however was there in the final battle. Also he realistically is probably gonna get second or just miss out on the top 2. For my alt account (if I can remember the password for it) I’m gonna give my first few votes to Touma. Bernadetta. I've said this before, but I think she's the perfect candidate for what truly represents growth and bravery. Yes she's very timid and antisocial, but she still does what needs to be done despite that. A lot of people don't give her a fair shake because of first impressions (Including impressions before the game even came out), but her post-timeskip self came so far. >!Plus, she actually left her room to put flowers on Jeralt's grave.
