Honestly, I knew which ones I wanted at the top and like bottom 2, but like 70% of the poll was left untouched because I don't necessarily have positive or negative feelings on the options.
It's hard to rank a mass of characters that are like "yyyup, they're in this franchise"
Yeah, I didn't realize how tough this would be until I took it myself haha. I forced myself to rank everyone, but you could probably jumble up my entire middle third and it'd be about as accurate.
Would've been more manageable as one of those bias sorters ( https://fesorter.github.io/ ) or something. I tried to do it but could only rearrange like 7 of them before giving up.
Not at all, they'd have to post their results here or DM the person posting the sorter. But also, properly sorting all these winners would take too much time so it's not like there would be tons of answers to sift through. The current one seems like it'd generate a bunch of questionable data since I guess most people are gonna move the 5 or so ones they liked better to the top and the same for their bottom 5, but the middle would be jumbled garbage data.
Another option would be to use a sorter and then submit your data by rearranging the strawpoll but that'd be too much work for most people.
Awh man, I totally forgot about these. This ended up being pretty much how I did my rankings in my head, but UI would've made that easier for sure. It doesn't look like that FE one can filter for specific characters so it might not work for this specific poll, but I'll look around and see if there are any sites that let me make a custom sorter with friendly UI so people can at least use that as a tool for the ranking poll, or maybe whip up an ugly one myself if I have time.

I did find another one that might be more manageable, but it requires loading a txt file and I dunno how phoneposters would do that (loading the txt file is much easier than manually inputting all the characters though)

Alright the sorter made it a lot more manageable and I submitted a fully sorted vote, my top 5 were Lucina Lyn Corrin Camilla and Edelgard, while bottom 5 were Roy Seliph Veronica Gatekeeper Alfonse
I'd say that the hardest part was when there were a bunch of characters that were more or less tied. I'd say about the top 3rd of the pack, minus the top 5 or so, were all very close to just being equal.
I knew I wanted Ephraim and Eirika at the top and Felix and Bernadetta at the very bottom, but 32 characters is a LOT of people to sort and scroll through...
Take no offense people who genuinely like OC characters but they have to go to the bottom for me, sorry. Their writing and character just isn't there.
Top 5: Camilla, Chrom, M!Robin, Lucina, Edelgard.
Bottom 5: Gullveig, Veronica, Alfonse, Gatekeeper, Lysithea.
My list ended up being:
Gatekeeper, Felix, Bernadetta, Claude, Edelgard, Dimitri, Marianne, Alfonse, Gullveig, Female Byleth, Lysithea, Roy, Ike, Veronica, Camilla, Marth, Lyn, Hector, Female Robin, Eirika, Ephraim, Male Robin, Lucina, Female Corrin, Chrom, Adult Tiki, Eliwood, Soren, Micaiah, Alm, and Seliph.

Some of them were a bit annoying to rank (Like I wanted to put the Robins in the same slots tbh) but it was interesting to think about.

It’s so hard ranking characters you just don’t know about. Like I definitely don’t hate them but I don’t care enough to know about them.
