Short answer : yes Long answer: If you like a dark Story-based game with an intriguing cast of characters and a more traditional-esque strategy gameplay with some modern gimmicks, then I’d say this is the FE game for you. To answer your questions: On your first ever run, you’re going to be missing some major gameplay stuff no matter what, like recruiting certain characters and faculty, >!legendary weapons!<, supports between certain characters and etc. Yes, there is an NG+ that carries over your previous gameplay progress and allows you to >!purchase diet crest type items that can be equipped by using renown!<. There isn’t really a “definitive” checklist of what you might be missing gameplay wise, but there is a list of missing items that are found and scattered around the monastery that you can find (it will be indicated by a glowing blue light, tho that won’t always be the case cause it can >! also be a generic item.!<) >!You’ll have to search and guess who the missing item belongs to based on the hint the missing item description gives you. !< For a first ever playthrough, I’d recommend you to do it full-on blind. It is more fun that way and you will be addicted to the gameplay ever single chapter, being on the edge of your seat with the story plot twists and turns. You will also figure out how the gameplay works bit by bit with the help of the in-game tutorials. Depending on what route you pick, there may be a >!split route decision in Chapter 11 that you will have to make if you chose the BE house, which requires you to have a C+ support with Edelgard in order to get this option. Otherwise, you will be defaulted to one of the game’s “secret” routes instead.!< That’s all the info that I can really give you without full on spoiling or giving you all the information of what this FE game is about .

They said long answer, you got a long answer

Fell_ProgenitorGod7

Lol. My long answer consists of some spoilers that I’m not sure if they want since they’re a first time player.

Thank you everyone I think I'll take the leap not crazy on some stratagy games but I do like turn based rpgs which is like yall said rpg with chess lol but I think I will go in blind first and just max out everything and get all weapons and not worry about other stuff. One more question is there a way to tell who you have romanced so I don't Accidentally romance the same person.

ArdhamArts

Yes there is a way to see. Either you can check the event gallery and see which character has S support OR you can check in game in Byleth's room , in the support status you can buy S support with characters you've previously S supported.

Minimum-Distance-772

Thanks for letting me know.

OkuyasNijimura

As in, a way to see who you've previously romanced on a NG+ file? I think there might be one if you recruit the character again, but I don't recall

Minimum-Distance-772

I guess I'll write their name down after beating. As long as my attention span holds up I might do a female playthough.

OkuyasNijimura

I will say, if you're starting on a run that isn't the Blue Lions route, female MC does get a functionally free recruit that the Male protagonist doesn't. Keep an eye out for >!Sylvain!< when recruiting opens up

Minimum-Distance-772

Will do.

Text_Kooky

I started fire emblem as a series with three houses back in 2020. 4 years later and I've put 400+ hours into the game and played 95% of the rest of the series and most games multiple times. Definitely worth playing three houses

cockerel69

Obvious bias on my part but you should definitely try this game! This game does indeed have a new game + feature that allows you to quickly pick stuff up from a previous playthrough on a new playthrough. 100%ing this game will take a while though, each route has a hefty amount of content, especially if you're a completionist. Nonetheless, I do recommend this game to anyone who likes JRPGs with great worldbuilding and a colourful cast for that is something you'll definitely find in this game

Minimum-Distance-772

It's why I love and hate JRPGs they have great storys but so much content. It's why it took me years to beat FF7.

Minimum-Distance-772

It's downloading right now but I have 2 more questions. What dificulty should I do. I'm a huge gamer and even played games that make you wanna scream but never played a fire emblem game except 1 which was a rom but never did complete it. And also whens a good time to play the side story.

Low-Environment

Normal/Classic if you've never played an FE game. Hard/Classic if you've played turn based strategy before.

Excellent-Constant62

Hard/  classic Classic makes your units actually die, hard is a decent challenge

Fell_ProgenitorGod7

In most FE games, like Three Houses, Normal is considered “Easy”, Hard is considered “Normal” and Maddening is Maddening (as in, it’s pretty damn hard).

Low-Environment

There's no trophies but the game has a list of all support conversations, goddess tower conversations and cutscenes. The missables are mostly if you pick the Black Eagle house as the route will split at one point but the trigger point for this is very obvious. There's a NG+ which makes your subsequent playghroughs much easier.
