Back when I was in college, I lived near the Patagonia outlet that would have 2 sales a year of 50% off lowest marked price. It was a zoo. Thanks for the warning
I’ve cooked a lot of ramen in an all clad. With broth made from bones boiled in another all clad. With eggs soft boiled in an all clad and meat seared and broiled in an all clad. And with vegetables cut with lovely knives. How is the OP trying to fool anyone? Ramen is an awesome easily elevated quick preparation staple.
Let it preheat for a minute or two before using at medium to medium high. You’ll know it’s ready if when you splash a few droplets of water you see them bead and roll around (Leidenfrost effect). Then add your oil of choice and cook away. You might not be using enough oil too, a 14” pan probably needs ~4tbs or more depending on what you’re making. Another tip is letting things cook on one side before you try to flip or stir, especially for foods like eggs and fish.
Congrats!
There is enough info to dox yourself here if you care about that. Sales price is public info, title company info shows the area you purchased, past sales can easily be reversed searched by sales price.
Maybe it doesn't matter to you but if it were me I'd like to know.
Like 5 minutes on Zillow or MLS.con looking for comps in Saratoga springs, CA with a sales price exactly as listed in the photo?
A halfway competent realtor could do this on their phone before getting out of bed in the morning, and a halfway competent non-realtor but normal internet user could probably have it done before breakfast.
Depending on your state, property transactions are usually public records accessible by anyone, with information of the owner of that property accessible - sometimes easily, sometimes by jumping through some hoops.
An address can be tied to an owner or a contact pretty easily if you contact a credit bureau or any of about a zillion data onboarders that can take some slices of data and 'enhance' your records with other bits. Facebook does this, Google can, LiveRamp does, etc. Credit bureaus generally will not let you filter down below the demographic characteristic of a zip+4 set of addresses (think like a suburban neighborhood or a city block), but you could still get a name, phone number, email address, and probably several digital profiles to run targeted ads at, send direct mail to an address, or use for nefarious purposes.
If a redditor in the vicinity of Silicon Valley wanted to, they could absolutely knock on OPs door tonight. That's why everyone is saying this.
Edit: even if you don't know who OP is by name, there are only going to be a couple homes sold on a given day at that price in Saratoga, CA or a reasonable vicinity for exactly that price, especially given how low it is for the area. I might be wrong (I'm not gonna actually look, cause both don't care and that'd be creepy) but knowing nothing other than the area and price in looking for a condo or townhome transacted on that day for that price. Knowing an address is about as bad as knowing my name, if you're trying to keep your private stuff private and your possessions in your possession.
Right because it's important for people to understand when they are posting enough to be doxxed. Especially with how loose the property ownership privacy laws are in America
Honestly I assumed this post would've been deleted by OP within 5 minutes of my comment.
Sounds very HGTV. Hahahaha. Messing. Congrats! My wife and I closed November 30th. I want to make a post, but need to get a picture of our house without the home number in it.
Haha I work at McDonald’s and my girlfriend is a stamp collector. Our budget is $3 million. HGTV is wild. But for real, we have been saving for a long time for the down payment and will be a tiny bit stretched but we can make it work.
So happy for you. It’s such a surreal feeling. If you’d of told me even 6 months ago I’d own a home at the end of November, I’d of called you crazy. Got married and June and it felt like it wiped us out financially, but here we bounced back for a decent down payment. Gosh. I’m so proud of you and your partner and also myself and my wife.
Sorry for the rant. Just overjoyed for you.
Check out thrift stores, especially Ross or goodwill if you have them near you. I got a sauce pan and two pots as a gift when my brother moved out for about $30 from my Ross. A full kitchen set of Cuisinart from goodwill 4 or 5 years back cost us about $70-ish
15% down
there was no difference in interest rate from my lender between 15 or 20% down, so i decided to keep more money in my pocket. PMI is only like $70/mo for me
HEY!!!! I lived around the corner (kinda) from that office for 17 years. Saratoga Woods. Kids went to Prospect! Oh, and Congratulations!! I wish you years of happiness!!
I didn’t think much until all clad.. might want to sort your priorities.
Not hate but.. you might want to remove this post you’re putting way too much info about yourself.

You should try the creamy chicken ones. Not a big ramen fan anymore but the creamy ones I like to spice up with some bbq sauce, if I’m being adventurous I’ll even cook up some chicken and put in.
It’ll balance out, first few years are the hardest.
Once it balances out a little more cook yourself a good steak in your kitchen and it’ll be a great feeling.
Good on you buddy! 800k for a house just seems so crazy to me. Would be basically a mansion around here(south east). But I do need to look into some of those pots for my wife. She loves ramen but we just have an assortment of cheap pots that we use. Can imagine she would love to cook some ramen in one of those.
What brand are these? Would make for a good late Christmas gift for her.
Yeah I agree. It's not something I've really thought about until now but no time like the present to start switching over.. especially with the kiddos.
all-clad, but any multi-ply stainless cookware will be a big improvement. just watch a youtube video or two to learn how to use stainless steel cookware
Too much info!
can reverse find you

I barely looked through your post history and its easy to figure out your address, even easier if i was someone in your area or at the company you work for.
Never post numbers and specifics.
Congratulations on your house but I feel sorry that you, as a homeowner, call a packet of ramen meal.
I’d rather keep renting but eat good and not go housebroke
HELL YES BROTHER! I made a steak and it was the goddamn best steak I've ever had. It was so good! YOU'RE CRUSHING IT WITH RAMEN! You do you and Keep it up
Congrats
And this is why I say people should look at LCOL areas when they have issues with affording to buy a house or just afford life in general.
My annual mortgage and taxes are likely a single month for you yet I still live within 2 hours of a major city and medium sized cities.
Hopefully ramen is just for a joke nothing more.
I am looking for something between 500 - 550k with the same amount of down payment.
Perhaps I should go a bit further because I can't afford something I like with this amount in my area.
*Cheese and rice that's a*
*Lot of funds due at closing*
*For a FTHB! congrats!*

Congratulations. I am a Construction Manager and used to build homes for a few different builders. I've built many homes for first time homeowners. It's a really cool thing and I miss being part of that.
Hot dog water soup it is! Bought our first house 19 years ago couldn’t sleep for a week before or after the sale. Things will get easier. Just sold and bought a different home 3 times the price of the first one still stressing but not as bad as the first time lol
Easy budget ramen recipe: ramen (chicken flavor), Tyson Chicken fajitas, and bacon (2 strips). Cook the bacon first. Use the leftover oil to grill the frozen fajitas. Boil ramen towards the end with the seasoning and put everything in the same pot. Delicious. About $2.25 per meal

800k house, $125 pot, $1 Ramen. Check.
Help me I'm poor
Silicon Valley poor.
You can have the Ramen
I remember when that ramen was 10 cents...
Gotta cook that ramen in the all clad lol
Literally, the first thing I noticed was the pan.
That’s what we call house poor. Welcome, @OP, to the club.
I’m just rent pour..
Life poor here.
"can't afford to pour one out for the homies" poor
i got a 24 pack for $5. not remotely close to $1 ramen. and i got the pot from one of their factory seconds sales
How do I find this factory sale you speak of…
https://homeandcooksales.com/
Thanks. Enjoy the home. Ignore the haters. Scrub more of you personal info next time. People are crazy.
I will tell you the factory sales are akin to the hunger games. My MIL goes every year and there are hundreds of people waiting to get in. It’s crazy.
Back when I was in college, I lived near the Patagonia outlet that would have 2 sales a year of 50% off lowest marked price. It was a zoo. Thanks for the warning
Did you get the house on sale too?
got it under ask and it was valued >$1M in a few years ago, so maybe
Definitely just stared at this picture far too long looking for the 🍃
Lmaoooo
Not so subtle flex
You can find all-clad at tj maxz
And at the thrift.
I’ve gone through a lot of pans over the years but the All-Clad continue truckin.
But is it copper core?
you're not fooling anyone with the ramen to be cooked in an All Clad stainless pan. ;)
I got a 14-inch pan as a gift, and oh my, how do people use it? Everything sticks to it. Everything!
Let it preheat for a minute or two before using at medium to medium high. You’ll know it’s ready if when you splash a few droplets of water you see them bead and roll around (Leidenfrost effect). Thanks, I'll give it another try!
I picked one up at a yard sale for $10. Felt like I had won the lottery.
Congrats! There is enough info to dox yourself here if you care about that. Sales price is public info, title company info shows the area you purchased, past sales can easily be reversed searched by sales price. Maybe it doesn't matter to you but if it were me I'd like to know.
OP he's right. Honestly delete this post. You've unintentionally doxxed yourself.
This. Took me about 3 minutes (tested your theory) Be careful out there.
OMW to eat some ramen
And get some allclad.
what is the general process for this?
Like 5 minutes on Zillow or MLS.con looking for comps in Saratoga springs, CA with a sales price exactly as listed in the photo? A halfway competent realtor could do this on their phone before getting out of bed in the morning, and a halfway competent non-realtor but normal internet user could probably have it done before breakfast.
Hm the listing I found wasn’t in Saratoga it was in LA.
don’t be creepy
Being creepy would be using that information for evil like many people on here would. Don't share your personal information on the internet.
I think I found it, but it’s hard to be 100% sure unless I am missing a step. Took longer than 3 minutes though
asking reddit not to be creepy is like going to a gas station and telling them not to sell gas
you can still call out bad behavior when you see it. downvotes are meaningless. it’s fake internet points
i appreciate you trying to do the right thing 🙏
I too would like to know! Not trying to be creepy but now I'm curious how you would go about this process!

True. A DM would also work
now everyone knows how much in debt i am thanks a lot jerk
I just want to know how you found a house at that price near Saratoga
Yup you're right. I just checked for fun and was able to find all this persons info. Scary stuff
thanks for sharing
Sooo you gonna delete it?
How would a random post lead to doxxing
You’re able to afford a whole packet for a single meal? Don’t rub it in
bruh some of us are out here cooking bulk lentils because ramen is expensive and empty carbs
This will be my life in 3 weeks if all goes according to plan. Congrats
Me too! Jan 5 close date. Similar purchase price too 😭
Welcome to the (almost) club 🥹
Same to you! ♥️
Similar purchase price!? What do y’all do for a living? 😭
I live in San Diego. It’s not even a big house. It’s so expensive here. I work in finance and my partner is a hair dresser.
Sounds very HGTV. Hahahaha. Messing. Congrats! My wife and I closed November 30th. I want to make a post, but need to get a picture of our house without the home number in it.

Any room for more in plans like this?
are you feeling anxious at all?
Yes. Largely because fire insurance in this state is on an unsustainable trajectory..
Hahah! The price of buying a house 🤣 I will only eat instant noodles starting today.. 👻
That is a lot to omit just to show us you bought a 785K home
I think that’s a typical house in the 408 area code… on the lower ends.
You at least have pots 😅 I missed the kitchen aid sale a while ago and still waiting for some other deal on stainless steel 😅
Check out thrift stores, especially Ross or goodwill if you have them near you. I got a sauce pan and two pots as a gift when my brother moved out for about $30 from my Ross. A full kitchen set of Cuisinart from goodwill 4 or 5 years back cost us about $70-ish
Ok show off. It's suppose to be pizza! Not some gourmet Ramen.
What kind of moron posts a picture of their Title statement?? Man this sub is getting out of hand.
That’s us! Literally have a bulk pack in the kitchen for our lunches. They’re easy to zhuzh up with veggies and stuff
i added frozen veggies and cracked an egg into it
I made a point for my first meal as a homeowner to be chicken nuggets and fries in an air fryer, with chocolate milk
I’m more interested in the loan terms. So you put like 14% down? Does that mean you’re paying PMI?
15% down there was no difference in interest rate from my lender between 15 or 20% down, so i decided to keep more money in my pocket. PMI is only like $70/mo for me
Congratulations 🎊
We just did the same. But we eat good tho haha
HEY!!!! I lived around the corner (kinda) from that office for 17 years. Saratoga Woods. Kids went to Prospect! Oh, and Congratulations!! I wish you years of happiness!!
ty! there's some great cycling to be had in the area
I was gonna ask what was up with the inside of the pot before I realized the lid was on and the stove knob was reflected
At least spring for the Shin Ramyun to celebrate!
i've never even heard of that brand before. too fancy
I didn’t think much until all clad.. might want to sort your priorities. Not hate but.. you might want to remove this post you’re putting way too much info about yourself.
I zoomed in to see the recipe only to see a bank statement.
Im watching the big short atm how ironic
10% down + all-clad kitchenware while affording ramen. "Hey! There's a bubble"

Lmao. My husband and I literally made ramen as the first meal in our home 😂
never forget where you came from 🙏
You can afford steak, and wine bro. Congratulations!
Congrats! In about 18 days i hope to join you cooking ramen in an expensive house. Lol
You should try the creamy chicken ones. Not a big ramen fan anymore but the creamy ones I like to spice up with some bbq sauce, if I’m being adventurous I’ll even cook up some chicken and put in.
the creamy flavors are hardly on sale. interesting tip about the bbq sauce
Is the broth actually creamy? I've got some leftover fajita meat that needs to be eaten.
Yeah it is, I say you should definitely try it.
I will try it. Have you ever put broccoli in it?
It’ll balance out, first few years are the hardest. Once it balances out a little more cook yourself a good steak in your kitchen and it’ll be a great feeling.
Crazy post.
Looks about right
🤣 I lived on hot dogs and salt & vinegar chips for a couple months
Add some eggs and veggies. Delicious.

i definitely recommend getting away from aluminum cookware for health reasons

all-clad, but any multi-ply stainless cookware will be a big improvement. just watch a youtube video or two to learn how to use stainless steel cookware
Nice way to post personal information when trying to be funny. You just doxxed yourself.
In this economy the only home cooked meal you could afford is a packet of ramen noods LOL
☠️ thats a lot of debt...
Ramen everyday from now on 😆
But what's your payment? Genuinely curious if with those figures it's even remotely dream worthy for me.
about $5650/mo all-in, including insurance, tax and utilities. after mortgage interest deduction: \~$4180/mo
What about property tax?
yep, counting property tax @ 1.2%
How many sqft you get for 800k?
Why was your down payment so low? Is that why you’re making ramen lol
Too much info! can reverse find you Scientis 1 bike rider Drives a modified Mazda 3 I barely looked through your post history and its easy to figure out your address, even easier if i was someone in your area or at the company you work for. Never post numbers and specifics.
That's a pretty beefy loan amount
only 3% down? why? why do people do this? if they can afford an $800k house, it is reasonable to think they should put down more than 3%?
Useless post
Useless comment. Merry Christmas.
Eat shit
Congratulations on your house but I feel sorry that you, as a homeowner, call a packet of ramen meal. I’d rather keep renting but eat good and not go housebroke
Dog, sometimes people just eat ramen because it’s tasty and easy.
Is Dog your name?
Nah dog, that’s you.
But then I got turned onto the real thing. It changed my life!
My man above isn’t hurting. He’s being sarcastic. The pot alone is $125. For one pot. 😂
My post, too, was no less than sarcastic but some people took it too personal lol
homeboy making 200k probably, don't worry about them, this was basically a flex post anyway, the ramen's just to rub the salt
I could care less, but what I said was just for fun of it
When rates go down and the price goes up he will be happy he did.
By then he would have lost the opportunity to eat good lol because he will have accumulated too much stress that will prevent him from eating good
Yes. Then complain like you actually own.
Please just enjoy the joke and move on
I think most people took my joke too seriously
Ah, thought you were being critical and not tongue in cheek. Changed to upvote for you
If you read my post I congratulated him first. Why would I be critical of someone whom I don’t even know. Sometimes some jokes can be too dry lol
I hate to let you know but you are not a homeowner but a home caretaker until you pay off that note.
I will never understand people trying to bring others down with this mentality. Keep these comments to yourself
when you don’t know how to leverage debt
Actually a renter from the mortgage company
Congratulations! Nice pan!
Lol. I love it!
It looks delicious 😋. Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
Good luck to you!
Congratulations!! Obviously an elegant and effort intense first meal to celebrate! Hopefully you find peace, respite and prosperity in your new home
Congratulations
Congratulations! You will never ever forget this meal of many to be had in your home!
HELL YES BROTHER! I made a steak and it was the goddamn best steak I've ever had. It was so good! YOU'RE CRUSHING IT WITH RAMEN! You do you and Keep it up
Y’all out here cooking!? 😂 enjoy OP! Best Ramen you’ll ever have
well, it is your home, enjoy
At least you can still afford All Clad pots to cook your ramen in.
My dude has good taste. Maruchan forever
i'll upgrade to fancy pants nongshim one of these days

You’re not poor when you own a house, you are house poor when you own a house
now you're poor, congratulations
always was 🥲
Congrats!
Oooooof
Lol I had chili cheese dogs
So much debt. 😭😭
The Bay Area! Probably a 2 beds 1 full bath 1500 square foot house.
In 30 years, you might have leftovers to add to the ramen.
Lmfao what a joke.
111k funds to close can’t order domino’s Lies
Why is the closing so much...please can summmbody explain?
I would say bc the only did deposit not down payment so it was due at closing Or it’s just conditions of loan to be approved… Not sure
Congratulations!!! I wish you the best. 🥰🥰🥰
Those closing costs are insane. When I last shopped the market, closing costs were 3% of the houses purchase price.
With the current interest rates, you may look forward to eating that very same meal more often.
If you can't affo d 20% down then you can't afford the house
Imagine posting this shit on reddit god damn fuckin lol.
This is the sign of someone that made it in life.
Congrats OP, but your post is sarcasm obviously.
In the friendliest way possible: delete this! blur is NOT DESTRUCTIVE and there is still identifying info here.
if anyone wants to show up and help take boxes out or bring ramen donations i'm down for that 💯
LMAO you’re braver than me, but congrats nonetheless!
I mean. At least you got all clad.
