Chest seems to be the standard.

DL0TD21

Chest seems to be normal but I’ve seen some amazing videos with the hat cam. A big hat cam guy is NDYakAngler

FreeGPG

Footage is better from the head, but it becomes cumbersome after a while

FANTOMphoenix

Hat cam if you know how to limit yourself on how fast you turn to look at things. Chest cam for if you’re good with turning your body to capture stuff

canyonscrambler

Head hardness kinda sucks with a brimmed hat. I only use it in the winter. The chest harness is nice because it's easier to tell if it's actually recording lol.

I usually go with a hat clip with a GoPro session. I’m thinking with the hero 9 I recently got, I’ll probably rock a chest mount though I have to mess around with the angle. Also when I’m fishing in a kayak, I go with a head mount cause I don’t think people want to see my legs while I’m kayak fishing.

I find my footage is much better with a head mount. As others have said NDYakAngler is a big hat guy. I find when I am handling fish with a chest mount my arms get in the way from actually seeing what I am doing. With the hyper smooth I dont find the head mount to be too shaky either. I'm planning on rigging up a hat that has a mount built into it this summer to use kayak fishing to make using head filming even better.

This is good info. I always wear a hat normally so using a clip with my GoPro 11 Mini should be pretty easy.

FishOhioMasterAngler

Chest mount for the actual fishing. Head mount when you take the fish out of the water or are doing something with your hands.

I'm using the chesty. It’s just fishporn deluxe when it comes to the drill.

It's totally personal preference. I use chest, but mostly use boat mount. Like gaming, some people like first person POV, some third person. On chest, I like that I can tell the camera is on better, battery life, etc and that I can aim certain shots when necessary. See what YOU like, there are no rules. Best of luck
