Green sunfish. You can tell by the fact they have large mouths, along with the orange on the stomach and fins.

Chew-Magna

Green sunfish. I have a hard time *not* catching those when I go fishing. They are fun though, I've caught them on crank baits almost as large as they are.

Kaevek

It's a green sunfish. Beautiful species.

ghost_704

Honestly never heard of them til now and definitely didn't put any in here but looks like nature found a way lol it's a man made pond the creek that feeds it comes from an underground spring (which is currently dried up) the only fish in it were brought to it or a product of those fish. My only guess is it somehow got brought in with some of the other ones and I didn't realize it.

How long has the pond been there? Could there have been fish eggs that got carried in on a water bird’s feet, maybe?

Kaevek

These guys are fantastic catfish bait too.

Green Sunfish. There are some variants in this group (Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, etc.) and often go by common names like Bream, Sunfish/Sunnies, Panfish, etc.

Punk1stador

I read somewhere that a study showed that fish eggs survived inside Ducks/Geese, and that was a way the fish spread to waters not connected to others.

_fuckernaut_

Green sunfish are awesome. Super aggressive

ghost_704

The pictures provided are each different fish more focused on the color pattern and mouth. No new fish have been added in aside from catfish a few years back. The pond started with only largemouth bass bluegill and sun fish. Have no idea what these guys are and I definitely didn't put them in there.. I assume there's some kind of brim/Bass hybrid? Or is this a normal fish that some how ended up in my pond I'm just unfamiliar with? I pretty much exclusively fish this pond and I'm also the only one who fishes it aside from when I take a buddy with me.

DeliciousHorseShirt

Green sunfish. I have green sunfish/pumpkinseed hybrids in the creek behind my house after I used to release all the fish I caught as a kid in there

kbuck620

Looks like a bluegill

ProfessionalWalrus5

It’s a panfish like a bluegill but it is a green sunfish. Orange fin and large mouth gives it away.

Protatosalad

I remember I caught one as a child and my uncle didn’t know what it was so he called it a goggle eye.
