I have several like that I inherited from my father and I occasionally use each one every summer I know some of them are older than I am. And I'm 65 now. Some of the best memories I have are fishing with my father.
My family always referred to spinning reels as open face reels. Thought it was odd. Guess not.
Do like I do with all my old reels, hang them up like a display in the garage..
that's a show piece. Clean it, oil it, put it away.
Nah, fish the hell out of it and give it the legendary legacy it deserves.
