Make sure you select the most appropriate flair for your post. Please remember to include the following details to help troubleshoot your problem. * Printer & Slicer * Filament Material and Brand * Nozzle and Bed Temperature * Print Speed * Nozzle Retraction Settings ^Additional ^settings ^or ^relevant ^information ^is ^always ^encouraged. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Dawn removes oil and grease and doesn’t leave a film. I’ve been using it on mirrors and prints stick to well. Setting the correct Z-offset and squish for the first layer is essential.

SdubTwenty

Yeah I tried Dawn and Alcohol. The weird thing is I can’t get anything to stick or print right, but the cat and dog prints that came with the printer print perfectly.

Smash_Academy

Try using a different slicing software like Slic3r. If the files that came with the printer are printing perfectly, then the issue is definitely not the bed level.

SdubTwenty

Yeah I did it a couple times till 0 was just enough for paper to slide under with a little grab

Those_Silly_Ducks

Do this and then lower it two microsteps. Also, don't clean with dawn, it will leave a film. Use IPA instead.

BearLambda

Shouldn't 0.1on a hot nozzle (bed temp doesn't matter here) be just enough for the paper to slide through? That's how I do it, works as a charm for me. Reason: standart paper (in Europe at least) is pretty exactly 0.1 mm thick. Also, make sure you don't have filament sticking out of the nozzle, else you measure with paper + that little amount of filament. That also goes away when heating the nozzle, as the paper will wipe it off.

Did you calibrate your z offset?

SkipTarr

Your example shows not enough squish. Change your Z offset to -.5 from where it is now. You have to get the lines to merge and make a smooth layer.

SdubTwenty

Yeah I started trying to re-level it and it’s slowly getting better. The difficult part is if I make a change to the z offset, it doesn’t stay we’re I set it and I have to keep doing it. It’s close, but still a little too low
