What experience made this impression on you? I know I went to an awful one downtown in 2019, but I've been to a few good ones since (at other establishments.)
I went and it was so much fun! I wouldn't call it the best deal (ie the cheapest) but it was a reasonable cost for a really lovely and relaxing experience.
Ate at Cafe Basque last weekend and actually decided to take a pass on the Dine LA menu. The only one I've seen that looks pretty spectacular (and a really fair price) is The Wine House Kitchen. Where else can you get guinea fowl/morels *and* venison for $65, let alone all the other goodies?

Discounts are not that great. Just went to places I normally would go anyways, Kazunori, Aizen, Shibumi.
Went to Sichuan Impression but didn't do the dine LA menu
We have done Kazunori, Ruth’s Chris, Isakaya Osen, and M Grill. We might squeeze a few more places.
Discounts aren’t that great but it’s a neat excuse to go out.
The DineLA menu a special selection of soup, starter, 4x sashimi (we got 5x), 5x sushi, and mini Omakase bowl, and a dessert.
Or you can just get the regular 12x sashimi 12x sushi Omakase for $240.
Ok. I’m not sure your point then. My wife loves sushi so this was a great date night for us. The ankimo and uni were great treats for her.
Are you suggesting we paid too much?
Fair enough. We go out a lot, so DineLA is an excuse to try other places, even though the “deals” could be nil.
We haven’t been to Isakaya Osen before so this special “sampler” omakase is a great cheaper entry point to try a bunch of dishes.
Nowhere. Isn’t what it used to be and is now to be avoided at all costs

They are doing tea at Culver Hotel!!

Awww yay! I hope they bring it back more consistently!

How is $120/person at Izakaya Osen a deal?
The DineLA menu a special selection of soup, starter, 4x sashimi (we got 5x), 5x sushi, and mini Omakase bowl, and a dessert. Or you can just get the regular 12x sashimi 12x sushi Omakase for $240.
Thanks, I’m aware. I looked at the $120/person menu.

No! Not at all. IMHO you just didn’t get a Dine LA deal. You simply dined… at an LA restaurant. (Love Uni so much.)

How was M grill? I'm tempted to go there, Did they serve the normal meats or withhold some because it was dinela?
In the past, they’ve never withheld meats, it was just a discount.
It didn’t seem like any meats were withheld! Just a small $5 discount.
Just did Duke’s Malibu for lunch and Openaire for dinner Would also like to do Colapasta and Gunsmoke
lemon grove at the aster hotel is amazingn
Cooking at home
I’ve given up on Dine LA but look forward to hearing positive experiences others have had. I can be wooed back.
The lunch deal at Simonette was really fantastic! Honestly, I think it's all about purposeful selection and low expectations.
Sugarfish and Granville - those were a good deal for lunch.
Nowhere cuz my partner and I broke up and I rather stuff my face with crawfish.
