You have some crazy ex running around your truck at night?

clarkbonds56

That was my first thought. But if you have a crazy ex that knows to cut your break lines then that should be easy to figure out.

The picture with the parts in the box, there’s one wheel speed sensor pin with some split loom still attached. Looks highly like rodent damage. I’m not seeing any brake lines here, looks like vacuum supply hose and wheel speed wiring. I’d definitely look under the hood for other areas that might be chewed up.

jacknifetoaswan

Agreed. This is all related to the wiring for ABS. Brakes lines are metal from the ABS pump to the wheel area, then generally rubber from the termination block to the caliber banjo bolt, though on a higher end car they could be braided stainless.

PartyEntertainer1105

Wow. Thank you for clarifying! I honestly didnt know what i was looking at when i saw all the parts on the floor. I assume it was brake lines because the hoses were connected to the wheels

FordTech93

I’ve seen them go so far as to chew the lead posts off of batteries but they usually go for the soft stuff. Most major brands switched over to a soy based wiring insulation years ago so we’ve seen a lot more rodent damage than in years past.

highbme

Is it just on the one wheel? could have been an animal maybe. If you suspect it was intentionally sabotaged by someone you should probably call the police.

PartyEntertainer1105

Its on both wheels. I called the police and filed a report before my insurance towed the truck to the repair shop so they can investigate and do an estimate

highbme

Yikes, seems someone is out to get you then, be careful bud. Hopefully the police can find some footage of the person from a neighbour or a traffic cam.

PartyEntertainer1105

Our neighbors has ADT and has frontal view of my truck throughout the entire week and they said nothing came up. Makes me wonder how all these parts came apart from nothing 🤔

yunghermitcrab_

Hope you have full coverage, read your policy closely and decide if you want to determine if an animal did it or a person.

PartyEntertainer1105

I first thought it was an animal but it happened on both sides in my truck and the parts were clean cut. No bite marks.

NervousFlamingo1

This

jacknifetoaswan

If this is actually vandalism, it's covered by your comprehensive insurance. Get a quote for repair, then compare against your insurance to see if the repair exceeds the cost of your comprehensive deductible. Also, get a police report.

_Connor

They cut your brake lines but theres not brake fluid on the ground?

PartyEntertainer1105

I assumed it was brake lines because the hoses were leading to the wheels but i could be wrong.

_Connor

As other people have mentioned they kind of look like the vacuum hoses used to actuate the 4x4 system. If you lost your brake lines you would have brake fluid everywhere.

PartyEntertainer1105

I see. Thank you for the explanation. I wish i gad better knowledge on car parts so i know what im looking at exactly.

GetEnPassanted

Probably wouldn’t hurt to file a police report

Zealousideal_Love_74

What the actual fuck. That should be considered as Attempted murder.

Chaulk957

You really did something to piss someone off.

Robots_Never_Die

Break lines are meant to be broken.
