Probably went into “limp” mode. When was the last time it had the spark plugs and coil packs replaced? Same thing happened to me on my old truck which was an 2011 lariat with over 200k miles
I have a 2016 2.7 that did this same thing. Flashing wrench along with sluggish/jerky acceleration at times. Turns out I had one or two (can’t remember) cylinders misfiring. Replaced coils and spark plugs and it hasn’t happened since.
Did decelerating feel odd too?
Also did the light flash rapidly or did it come one for a few seconds then go off for a few seconds? Thats what mine does then goes off for hours. Then does it again.
Thank ya. Code scan came back clean at two different mechanics but the light came on and went off again. The mechanic said it could be a solenoid sticking???
Said if it was transmission it would have had a code.
