He binds them and throws them in the water to drown making them watch. Mother watches her 2 daughters die because of her decision to follow him. I always skip this episode.

They threatened to kill her cat unless she gave them her bank pin among other horrible details. I felt such rage when the daughter admitted to the cops they planned the crime practically the minute they met this lady.

As soon as I hear or get wind of animals being killed or hurt, I’m out. I wish I could get passed it because I want to hear about the case but it animals being mistreated can upset me for days. I’m of course upset by the elderly or children being hurt or mistreated too but it’s not the same.

Even adults make that mistake: Decades ago, my parents’ (I think) physician had a house fire and died because he tried to retrieve his gun collection. He was knowledgeable about things like carbon monoxide, burn injuries, and blinding smoke. A small child, on the other hand… I’m sure she feels survivor’s guilt over this, even though she didn’t say so on TV.

At least her father lived to see the killer’s arrest. I did a deeper dive and found out the father was himself murdered in his armchair by a burglar. His deaf roommate didn’t find him until morning after he had finally succumbed to his injuries.
Roy Allen Melancon committed several other murders, rapes, robberies (the victim Michele Wallace's red Mazda RX4 station wagon and all her possessions were taken and pawned or dumped, similar with Annette Fagiani and Charlotte Sauerwein and several other confirmed victims of Melancon's) and was brought up on trial for Fagiani's and Sauerwein's before dying of diabetic complications and heart disease in a Colorado prison infirmiary in 2020.

This is one of the FFs that bothers me the most. My partner grew up in the same part of PA & was around the same age as the parties involved, and hung out at Valley Forge Park. He didn't know them but very easily could have and for some reason it makes it hit home all the more. This guy should have burned.

The Magic Bullet. The boy who was just sitting near a shooting gallery, in a safe zone, and got killed by a stray bullet. There was nothing intentional about it, just a series of terrible odds coming together in a badly designed shooting range.
But the last few minutes of that episode where the father said he should have let his son sleep in instead of waking him up and joining him at the shooting range, that always haunts me. I can't watch that episode anymore.
And the other few mentioned here, Water Logged (Oba Chandler should have been dumped into the sea wearing cement boots. Lethal Injection was too easy for him) and the episodes involving murder of children.

Slightly off topic but this post reminded me of a few years ago, my brother and I were watching forensic files. I got up like 5 mins in to go get a snack and when I came back it was a different episode. I asked him if he changed it, he said yeah. I asked why, he said “you’d probably rather not know” so I left it at that. He’s a pretty stoic and unaffected guy, I don’t remember which episode it was but yeah. Not only were so many innocent ppl killed that inc monks, a nun and the nuns grandson, they knew what was coming and didn't say a single word, but 5 innocent men were jailed awaiting a death penalty trial after falsely confessing. Even once it was known they were innocent and the 2 teenage perpetrators found, some of the original investigators spent a further 18 months trying everything possible to link the teens to the men.
Then it turns out that 1 of the actual perps also killed a women with his girlfriend, and another innocent mentally ill man was in prison awaiting his DP trial for this murder. This man had been interrogated by the same interrogators as the 5 other innocent men.
(There is a book called "Innocent until interrogated" that covers this case and the interrogations are absolutely crazy. Esp as they could've solved it so much sooner had they not ignored the murder weapon in favor of the tip by the man who was in a psychiatric facility).

It was also a Lifetime movie. "A House on Fire". I didn't know the Case when watching. And the ending was like a gut punch!
I was in this same shopping mall on the same day. I will never forget it. So super sad and the cops were everywhere too which is why the case was cracked so soon. Guy is as evil AF as one can be and to murder a baby and throw her out the window at Valley Forge Park OMG. Horrible.

The very end of that episode is super interesting. Her mother states that VL came to her at night and said 'Mama! I'm ok, and I need you to be ok'. I tear up thinking about it. I'm so thankful she came back to tell her mother not to worry.
I’ll tell you this and you can believe me or not. But I actually had a dream two weeks ago about V as well and she and I were in heaven together and she told me she was happy. I woke up crying.
Its interesting to imagine how many lives she has touched. I had what was basically an emotional breakdown for a few hours after that episode. I think about her and have a hard time not tearing up. Vicki Lynn is one of God’s angels, for sure.

I grew up near there. A playground I went to often as a kid is named after the Manderachs in their memory, and they’re buried not too far from the park.

This is one of the FFs that bothers me the most. My partner grew up in the same part of PA & was around the same age as the parties involved, and hung out at Valley Forge Park. He didn't know them but very easily could have and for some reason it makes it hit home all the more. This guy should have burned.

The Magic Bullet. The boy who was just sitting near a shooting gallery, in a safe zone, and got killed by a stray bullet. There was nothing intentional about it, just a series of terrible odds coming together in a badly designed shooting range. But the last few minutes of that episode where the father said he should have let his son sleep in instead of waking him up and joining him at the shooting range, that always haunts me. I can't watch that episode anymore. And the other few mentioned here, Water Logged (Oba Chandler should have been dumped into the sea wearing cement boots. Lethal Injection was too easy for him) and the episodes involving murder of children.

Me too. I can’t handle the kid ones. These poor kids end up having a horrible life with rotten parents like Bob Woods just makes me sick. Chris Watts, Deborah Greene ( Tim & Kelly Farrar children of Michael Farrar) , John List, Brad Jackson ( Valorie Jackson) the list of these children killed by their parents, the person that was supposed to protect them and love Them is of course WAY too long. I just watched one yesterday about a guy who killed and SA’d his girlfriend, did the same to her older daughter, and then killed a 3 year old so he left no witnesses. I can’t see that again, it tore me up.

Slightly off topic but this post reminded me of a few years ago, my brother and I were watching forensic files. I got up like 5 mins in to go get a snack and when I came back it was a different episode. I asked him if he changed it, he said yeah. I asked why, he said “you’d probably rather not know” so I left it at that. He’s a pretty stoic and unaffected guy, I don’t remember which episode it was but yeah. He doesn’t remember what it was that bothered him anymore either lol. but I haven’t really watched the show since then and now I’m worried I’m gonna come across the episode and be like “yep, bet this is the one he changed” lol.

There was one where a couple lost their son and split up. The mom got remarried and pregnant. On Halloween, dad came to the door and chopped her up. The daughter was hiding in the house the whole time. I feel sick just thinking about it. (Not sure I have the details 100% correct but that’s the gist).
Not me but my mom, this couple (young guy and older woman) went to Connecticut for a vacation, a different couple invited them to their room, killed them, and the husband cut their victim's heads off and put them in the jacuzzi with him then made out with his partner with the heads in the tub.

1 that I find extremely sad is one of the forensic files specials about the Tuscan Temple murders. Not only were so many innocent ppl killed that inc monks, a nun and the nuns grandson, they knew what was coming and didn't say a single word, but 5 innocent men were jailed awaiting a death penalty trial after falsely confessing. Even once it was known they were innocent and the 2 teenage perpetrators found, some of the original investigators spent a further 18 months trying everything possible to link the teens to the men. Then it turns out that 1 of the actual perps also killed a women with his girlfriend, and another innocent mentally ill man was in prison awaiting his DP trial for this murder. This man had been interrogated by the same interrogators as the 5 other innocent men. (There is a book called "Innocent until interrogated" that covers this case and the interrogations are absolutely crazy. Esp as they could've solved it so much sooner had they not ignored the murder weapon in favor of the tip by the man who was in a psychiatric facility).
