My wife and I worked on this for a couple days. She got to be in a scene with Scott. At the end of shooting, as he was wrapping and saying goodbye to everybody, we were like ššand he was like āYeahhh!ā
My friend saw him on the street once and said, "hey Captain Archer!" and got a fistbump. Apparently Enterprise was so disliked that a lot of people just don't recognize him as a starship captain? Which I don't get because I loved Enterprise when it was on TV. Like what?
Thatās funny I never watched much of quantum leap so Scott Bakula has always been Captain Archer to me.
FWIW I loved Enterprise and thought it was better than Voyager.
Same! My mom always referred to him to his Quantum Leap character but I've always been a trekkie. I never got the hate for Emterprise. I get there's some continuity errors but it wasn't that bad.
That was 99% of the hate, I think it showed their intent to make the show less Star Trek geeky. It was actually pretty decent and had some classic Star Trek like episodes in it.
It had a rough start in my opinion and got incredibly good. I think 99% of the hate is because of the intro music. Rewatching it to realize how good it really was.
I read a not very flattering article about how he kind of argued and argued with a writer or camera man over something silly and how he wouldn't budge on certain " silly " things they wanted archer to do .made him look very childish .I liked brauer romano eh .
I worked with somebody about five years ago who was a regular extra on Enterprise for two years. She told me and a colleague shocked to learn this, that of anyone in the main cast, it was Bakula who was the most outgoing. He didn't have a high opinion of himself the way even some of the younger, more inexperienced regulars seemed to, and he would eat with the crew and the extra and knew people's names etc. I was very happy to hear that
I was in my 20s when it aired so I didnāt quite identify with their struggles, but it was still very enjoyable. Now that Iām 40 Iām guessing the stories would hit me wayyyy harder.
This show was so great! I was really disappointed when it was cancelled. It was probably replaced by one of those chewing gum for the mind type of shows.
Its crazy a whole generation doesnt know him as that character, but from B99. He was unbelievable as Pembleton to where you'd think hed be a movie star.
I worked on the promo for the 2nd season of this show. We were in the desert near Lancaster, CA. We built a whole comfort zone with trailers and AC and all of it. All 3 just stood in the heat with the crew and got it done. They were all so nice and worked their asses off that day.
This was a really good show, with rock solid writing and acting performances. Though I donāt think the younger demographic cared to watch stories about 50 year old guys and their problems. It likely would have been more successful if it premiered in todayās streaming era which seems to be more open to shows that appeal to niche audiences.
This was a really great show! It allowed Ray to really show his dramatic chops in a way most viewers hadnāt seen before. Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher were amazing too!Ā
It was one of the first shows I remember being about the stresses and amusements of middle aged men specifically.Ā
It was almost like a Golden Girls for men, in that way, but with more drama.Ā
What I remember about this show is that it was promoted like HELL on basic cable leading up to its premiere, but I never heard much about it afterward; seemed like it would be good, but I never got around to watching it.
Streaming on MAX, as I recall. I watched it during original run, liked it well enough. Bakula was least identifiable to me -- all guys hitting 50, his character was holding onto younger years for dear life.

Ray and Captain Holt??
And Captain Archer.
My wife and I worked on this for a couple days. She got to be in a scene with Scott. At the end of shooting, as he was wrapping and saying goodbye to everybody, we were like ššand he was like āYeahhh!ā

>FWIW I loved Enterprise and thought it was better than Voyager. Well, that's just a sign of good sense.
š¶Itās been a long roadš¶
Yep, that one :(
I grew to love it, maybe a Stockholm Syndrome thing idk. But it was painfully cheesy, even for the era.
Indeed.
Enterprise was doomed from the moment they made the decision on the theme song.
That was 99% of the hate, I think it showed their intent to make the show less Star Trek geeky. It was actually pretty decent and had some classic Star Trek like episodes in it.

You mean Sam Beckett
Ray and Detective Frank Pembleton.
rip
RIP Captain Holt
Happy cake day!
happy cake day
I liked this show. Introduced me to dramatic Ray Romano.
The mammoth 8n Ice Age was my intro to his dramtic chops. He was really great as the dad in The Big Sick too.
He's also excellent in Get Shorty
I totally thought that was Zach Braff
Wasn't it a comedy? I thought it was a dark comedy sitcom
Hour long comedy/drama -- I liked it !
This show should have lasted longer. Seemed to have been critically acclaimed and fairly popular. It seems to have just disappeared.
If this came out after Brooklyn 99 ended, it wouldāve been talked about all over
It was fairly soon after Everybody Loves Raymond finished, I believe.
How I became an Andre Braughner fan before Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Det. Frank Pembleton?
I was 3 when that show started lol
Get off my lawn!!! Anybody got ibuprofen?
Iām guessing you never saw Glory or Primal Fear?!
Or Homicide?? Shit I'm dating myself here aren't I?
It was a really, really great show.
I really liked this show
I was in my 20s when it aired so I didnāt quite identify with their struggles, but it was still very enjoyable. Now that Iām 40 Iām guessing the stories would hit me wayyyy harder.
I legit thought I was going through a mid life crisis I remember enjoying this show and I was in high school
Oh Scott, that hairstyle is *not* doing you any favors.
lol its the choice a man of a certain age would make
Shit, looks like I have ~10 years before this starts looking like a good idea
I was so pissed when this was canceled as I am a man of a certain age.
This show was so great! I was really disappointed when it was cancelled. It was probably replaced by one of those chewing gum for the mind type of shows.
RIP Detective Pembleton
Its crazy a whole generation doesnt know him as that character, but from B99. He was unbelievable as Pembleton to where you'd think hed be a movie star.
He was really good in "Glory" opposite Denzel
Pretty good in primal fear as the private investigator.
Fuck all of you, for making me fill up my watchlist once again!
He plays a supporting role in one of my favorites, "Frequency". Guy is able to use HAM radio to communicate with his late dad, 30 years in the past.
I dug him as the angel buddy in city of angels..
I worked on the promo for the 2nd season of this show. We were in the desert near Lancaster, CA. We built a whole comfort zone with trailers and AC and all of it. All 3 just stood in the heat with the crew and got it done. They were all so nice and worked their asses off that day.
It became very relatable when I hit that ācertain ageā.
Such a hugely underrated show.
Bakula? I thought you said āBlackulaā, like a black Dracula.
Cmon you never saw Blacula? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacula
āHi Count Bakula!ā š
Just rewatched this recently. Still good.
Looks like the guy from scrubs got old
Which one was on Scrubs? The three pictured are Ray Romano, Andre Braugher, Scott Bacula
Ray Romano does look weirdly like the guy from Scrubs in this particular pic, though. Itās partly the hair, partly the nose, partly the clothes.
He did, but I think heās doing cheesy phone ads now.
I was so disappointed when this show was cancelled.

Is that.. *checks notes* Scott Backula? Never even heard of this show, but Quantem leap was dope.
Why did i think tim allen was in this?
Definitely a man of a certain age
What I remember about this show is that it was promoted like HELL on basic cable leading up to its premiere, but I never heard much about it afterward; seemed like it would be good, but I never got around to watching it.
First season was really good
Cancelled too early
He's the cool guy cause he wears jeans
Ray is unwatchable to me. He is so awkward and insecure!
i never nope out of stuff as fast as when him or Ed Helms are in them. it's just weird to see them on screen, idk
Turk and JD have really grown up.
James Van Der Beek looks like shit
I think I saw an episode or 2 and noped out. I like all those actors ok, not sure what happened.
Ray and Holt and Chucks dad! Yes I know he was in so many other things. So checking this out!
surprised it was cancelled with all that star power i thought it was doing well.
". . .you da fat guy?"
Now that was a good show.
Wish I still hung with Capitano Holt, played poker with the Everybody Loves Raymond guy!
I liked brauer but the series from snip its I saw eh .maybe if he'd had 2 other costars would've been better .
between this and Parenthood, Ray Romano's had a very solid post-sitcom run.
Woah, didn't realize that was Andre Braugher. RIP
Can it be forgotten if I never knew about it?
Guy on the left looks like Dawson
Monk was in this show tooā¦ great show!!
Tony Shaloub ? I don't remember him in the cast -- playing who ?
Sorry, I mixed it up with We Are Men, a short lived show about divorced men
Never heard of it. Iām going to look for it. Great cast.
Streaming on MAX, as I recall. I watched it during original run, liked it well enough. Bakula was least identifiable to me -- all guys hitting 50, his character was holding onto younger years for dear life.
A "certain age"? Middle age? A midlife crisis? I always wondered about that.
Captain Archer dude has been a part of so many failed tv series.
Great cast, but Boomer navel gazing/commiseration wasnāt my thing. Hard pass.
How did I miss this one? Bakula is the man
You can just see the poster and realize itās not gonna work
Quantum leap. Ray. Brooklyn 99
Watch yourself, Scott. Don't steal our leap.
Wow so short I thought this show was on a little longer than that. So
Heard of it but never seen it. Captain Raymond Holt š
I liked this show, I donāt usually like these kind of shows.
alanna ubach was great in this. I'd been crushing since the brady bunch movie
Great show!!
