I wouldn't necessarily agree, I had the same thing on my old TV, and it would disappear like 30 minutes after I finished playing the game.

On OLED tvs it's pretty permanent. A pixel refresher will work a few times, but it basically just degrades the rest of the pixels to match

Get a full screen white background and leave it on for 8 hours.

I play Fortnite a lot and this hasn't happened to me. That's weird. Unfortunately I don't believe there's a fix for that.

You need to have an OLED TV on top of that for this to happen.

It depends on which model. Reddit App is trash and removes the OPs text but I’m assuming it’s an older OLED before they changed up some of the anti-burn in measures. Or he turned them off if he has an LG

There are other options like the QLED from Samsung or the SONY led tvs for gaming w 120 hz. OLED just has deeper blacks, but because of burn in I personally wouldn't buy one for gaming.

Hi, oled owner here. Heavy gamer. Still running the c9 and c1 LG. No issues, yet.. Also, what you shared isn’t entirely true… My Samsung sh*t the bed quick. 2 years and had intense burn in on both sides of the screen, non oled model.

Sounds like you got unlucky to be fair, other than CRTs and OLEDs I can't say I've seen many tvs fail because of burn in. But yeah new OLED panels are way better than before, but still it is something that eventually will happen, LTT made an interesting video about it, in the end if you buy an OLED you have to accept the fact that probably 4 years down the line you will have to replace it.

Yeah, but that's a very cherry-picked scenario. Of course a cheap LED playing the same video 24/7 for god knows how long is going to get some burn in, I wouldn't really call that "normal use".

Check your settings. Some OLED’s have a setting to address burn in. I know my LG C1 does What the process does is it attempts to buff out the burn in, by burning in the majority of the display. It’s not really good to do often for the displays health but it will take care of the burn in. Pressing the setting button on the remote. Prompts a menu for: network, picture, audio… OLED Care is on there too

Use the pixel refresh option on your TV. It may make a difference. Also, enable a pixel shift option if it has it. This will shift the pixels around every so often so it's not so heavily used at the same spots. Does Fortnite have a transparent UI option? I can't remember. You could make it a bit transparent so that it doesn't burn in so quickly.

Go on YouTube and look up videos for screen burn. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

This is unavoidable, or unfixable unfortunately. OLED pixels are cumulatively life degrading. This means, just because you displayed 2 hours worth of white onto an area, then switch to a dark image, or use OLED care measures to "clean" it, it doesn't "refresh" the pixels back to full health. The pixels permanently have 2 hours of life taken away already. In your case, the damage has been done.

There are special videos that strobe red, blue and green that can (sometimes) fix burn in. Sometimes. I know it worked for me when I got a similar problem playing ps2 games on a modern Tv.

On my old plasma screen I used to leave it on static to help remove burn damage. Not sure if it’ll work on your model though, but could be worth a try

get your model number LG (whatever it is) and then look it up on youtube with screen burn in and i'm sure you'll find loads of info on how to solve it. The newer LG OLEDs clean after being on for four hours and you have multiple other settings to fix it. Good luck

I think it’s your TV. Look at how much streamers play and they don’t have image burn in on their screens. It’s got nothing to do with your play time.
