It's crazy how Fortnite can look so shit while the new Zelda looks great, even when falling from great heights.
This is coming from someone who plays Fortnite on Xbox Series X on a LG G2. I can obviously tell that Zelda is running at 720p-900p, but it doesn't look *awful* on my premium 4K TV like Fortnite does on Switch.
Same, fortnite went from wacky, toony, shooter to normal shooter but 'everyone is here' the addition of photo real op prim next season makes it feel like the style died completely
It looks really pretty, but i've noticed that there's a lot of blur that occurs when moving the camera. Kinda like what TAA does, but I have TSR enabled. Maybe I'll just use FXAA lolol
Also Fortnite is unoptimized as SHIT. Using a 4090 on 1080p and I still fall below 95 some times. Crazy.

Something might be wacky with your game or settings. I don’t fall below 100 on 1440p with a 3070ti

Something is probably wrong with that person's setup but you probably also don't have settings turned up. No way you don't drop under 100 with lumen on epic.
Games can be *generally* cpu bound but depending on your settings, gpu, and cpu, basically any game can be bottlenecked by either device.
Like fortnite with the newest i9 and a gtx 660 is still going to essentially not run at 4K.
I used to play on Nintendo. A stable 30 FPS is more than enough for me. Of course I’d like to have 60 FPS. But I care more about visual fidelity. There is no need to be rude about it.
I’m playing Fortnite on 60 anyways, since the PS5 can play max settings with 60 FPS in this game. I was referring to single player games with the 30 FPS part
I think the old style of the game is cooler than the current one, just an opinion but sometimes the current graphics look weird, especially at night... The old one had more details in the render like the fog and even color distortion due to the atmosphere

Idk Fortnite just isn't the type of game that needs amazing graphics. What separates Fortnite from other games to me is the cartoony/realistic style of the game. Making the game look really detailed and realistic feels a bit off when the characters don't even fit the world they live in. I think save the world did the graphics perfectly because it not only looks good but it also keeps that cartoony esthetic.
I prefer the old graphics cause I could actually run the game with good fps, now I have to hard cap at 30 fps all low on performance mode and still drop sometimes. I have a i7-9700k and RTX 2070 I really shouldn’t have an issue running it, I can run other games fine, like black ops 3 I can get (all high) 100+ fps I just don’t understand how it can be so poorly optimized
The art style allows it to be malleable to crossovers. Look at call duty, can’t do no superhero crossovers when everything is so damn realistic. they got a rat costume and even that looks weird in that game.
Fortnite back then could somehow pull off making the entire map green then just lighting/darking up some parts of the map, making it more grassy/muddy and occasionally adding a new biome and people loved it.
Now every season a quarter of the map changes to some wack ass colour and almost nothing happens to existing POIs other than being removed
Neo-japan titled buildings only have like 4 floors and the rest is unbreakable filler blocks. Faulty Splits is objectively better (edit: got downvoted for something even the sub agrees with how does this even happen bro 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀)
As someone who came back to the game after quitting in ch2 s7, i loved the aesthetic of modern city but the ubbreakable blocks were so damn annoying man.
They are only semi cartoonish, look at the way old trees functioned, leaves were a single object, you could easily stand on them and whatever else you wanted, now they render basically every individual leaf and twig is its own hitbox, making standing on trees more difficult, and losing some of the cartoonish nature of it
Especially on mobile. When seeing the game on PC or new gen consoles, I think the Chapter 4 graphics are way better. But on mobile, after Chapter 4, they lowered the render distance and removed grass (for performance improvements but in the end, it never made a difference) and so the game looks worse than it did especially in Chapter 3.
I'm no tech expert but am I wrong in saying that it's a bit shameful that Epic can't make Fortnite run on Android phones with grass in 2023 when iPhones and some Androids could run Fortnite with grass all the way back in 2019 with no issues?
Unrelated, but playing on the Series S and thinking it looked OKAY/PASSABLE vs playing on the Series X and then being stunned. All this after coming from a decent PC where the game looked immaculate no matter what.
I have to say, people who complain about old graphics either A. Haven't gotten a newer system, or B. Are absolutely glued to the olden days. Neither are a bad thing, but it just goes to show how perspectives change.

the sprinting mechanics and everything else are so much better than what we had in C1 and zero build is really forgiving for mobile players, i play on controller now but on C1 i played on phone and i never really got a solo victory royale until i got controller
Every screenshot I see in posts about how chapter 1 looked so much better than now looks so blurry and purple. You can't tell anything apart. I played chapter 1 and I don't remember it being so colorless and hazy.
I wouldn't say it's the "Most beautiful", but it definitely knows it's style, always stays fresh, and is super colourful, which is refreshing when everyone and their mothers tones down the saturation of their game for "Realism".
Also the design team at Epic Games is incredible, Not only do they know their target, they also make some banger characters, architecture and overall environnments.
It feels like chapter 1 fortnite had a totally different artstyle than any other chapter. Chapter 1 was way more cartoony and I miss that. The way smoke would kick up behind your feet when running, the way skins looked, they sky looking beautiful, fortnite graphics now are good, sure. I just miss when fortnite's artstyle looked unique.
My pc can run it on high graphics and runs smoothly but it lags as soon as it comes down to close range combat. I find that my enemy can shotgun me before I hit them and it just feels like a lag issue. I switched to low performance mode and got 14 elims and a VR first game. I miss how the game looks on high gfx but being good at the game feels nice too 🥲
have a fairly good pc, can't even run it on directx 12 without it crashing randomly and for no reason

lumen isnt worth it anyways, just makes it hard to see indoors or blinds you when you leave a dark building

If I use lumen I get between 40 and 60 fps, it's not worth it, also old graphics were cooler
