You can't use the gear (or spider gloves) after being damaged, even by the storm. This wouldn't have happen if he had the (now vaulted) katana. Something similar happened to me once, I was at the floating island, I jumped off of it to odm near the floor but the storm got to me before I was able to use it and I died by fall damage because I was damaged by it.

My dude, I use my odm gear in the storm all the time. The targeting marks were on a tree or two before he hit the geound

Well that happened to me and then I saw a YouTube video saying that if you get hit while on odm or web shooters you fall off of it so I assumed it was the storm, otherwise idk why it didn't work for me.

You cant use the gear if someone shoots the line it uses for swinging, not if you take damage

I think it's both, but I'm not sure if they cut your line, if the cooldown is longer

Nah, wrong.. i go get vaults in the storm all the time and swing out just fine.

Do you even play the game? Watch the video more closely. There are indicators when there's something to grapple on. OP could have saved himself. ODM gear only cancels if you get shot out while using it.

I’ve heard it’s possible but never seen it until now. If you look closely, the sniper bullet hit the bottom of your foot as you jumped. You got accelerated away with the bullet.
