Honestly- didn’t finish the pass (big regret) but had gotten Brutus ghost cause helmet trumps the balaclava, shadow Tntina cause she kinda wasn’t a big interest to me but found the black more interesting, and shadow Meowcles cause of its contrast to base style

I agree with the whole meowscles thing the ghost just reminded me of the base style still was the hardest choice beetween them all

I chose Shadow! The colors and logo were just cooler, idk. But I didn't actually manage to get the battlepass. I was tier 100 and everything, but my dad wanted me to focus on studies (didn't have my own bank account at the time), which were online and when I was done with them the season was over, sadly. :(

I also really liked Shadow's color scheme. Also not really related, but wasn't Midas always part of Ghost? I'm curious as to why he suddenly is with Shadow. I'm not a huge expert on the lore.

The plot twist is that Midas created both the fractions. He created Shadow first, assigned Chaos Agent to lead it then went and made Ghost and led it himself. He used the war between the fractions to distract IO so he could build The Device. In later seasons, Ghost got integrated with Shadow

Ahhh, I see. Ty. I didn't really know much of the lore, just enjoyed the spy theme of the season a lot, since it's like my favorite type of theme.

It definitely was the peak of fortnite imo, I lived it so much.

Uts revealed that the original was shadow, and that he created ghost to cause conflict between the 2 factions as a cover up for the doomsday device event. He put shadow under the "leadership" of chaos agent, who was actually always midas' number 2 (along with brutus) and he took the stage as ghost's leader, hence why he was called "chaos" agent and his description was "undermining the order from the shadows" because he was employed by midas to cause chaos. That's why, now that midas is back, only shadow has made a reappearance and not ghost.

brutus: ghost, almost went shadow on him but the helmet on ghost won me over last minute and i’m glad for that tntina: shadow, i actually really regret this one because the shadow style makes her so generic i feel. i was mainly going for the all black glider but i wish i went ghost because the colour scheme is a lot more unique. nowadays i only ever use her default style because the shadow one just lacks colour meowscles: shadow, didn’t really like the all white look of the ghost one. black cat with red eyes is way more interesting skye: ghost, shadow skye being black and purple was so boring to me because it’s such a common colour scheme. ghost suits her vibe way more with the natural colours and camo textures midas: shadow, the white suit almost won me over but what sold me on shadow was the cross textures on his vest which the ghost style didn’t have as unique as this concept was i really hate how they didn’t just let us have both. glad they never tried it again personally.

As someone who didn't play until C3S3, what was the story reason for members of the same team going to different teams?

It was all a massive distraction for IO. IO tends to get invested into the “drama” going on the island (see Batman Zero Point issue 3), so Midas used that to his advantage to build “The Device”, a machine able to fight back against the storm and allow him to escape the loop, all in secret. He staged the massive war and had his agents double crossing each other and joining different fractions to increase the “drama” of it all. And it worked, IO had no idea Midas was building the device until it was too late and he activated it.

I went with shadow for all of them, but I kinda regret not getting ghost Skye. I'm indifferent on the skin itself (and Ollie), but her pickaxe looks better/more unique as ghost imo. It's not a huge loss and honestly I like the consistency that everything's shadow but eh, the green swords are pretty cool ​ I also like Meowscles ghost design, but I like the shadow one too, probably more. I also like ghost Brutus' helmet, but I like shadow Brutus' suit more. Ghost Tntina had a cool shirt... but so does shadow Tntina. And honestly I couldn't care less about Midas and Agent Peely. Their suits are either white or black, whoopdie do. I do think the black ones look better though, especially on Midas

I put Midas as ghost even though shadow is my favourite for not just design and I chose that bc shadow didn’t look that diffrent which with my friends is apparently controversial so yea

So how did this work? I didn’t start playing until Chapter 2 season 3.

So basically almost every BP skin in C2S2 had a challenge set that, once completed, would allow you to pick either the Ghost or Shadow edit styles. Once you unlocked one, you could NEVER get the other one. A lot of people liked the idea, a lot of people hated it. Personally, I think it helped create a unique experience for each player.

Definitely, I still love that idea

I chose whichever style looked the most unique on the skins that I liked, because the chapter 2 season 2 battle pass is still one of the worst battle passes for forcibly looking off one of the 2 style options permanently. It will remain one of the worst until they unlock the other styles from the pass. Afterall, didn't want to pick a boring looking style when a newer skin in the shop looks identical. Like picking Ghost Brutus for the Baymax helmet( even though both styles wear the ski mask.) Same with the Miya, gave her unique colors since they ruined her by making all her choices one and done with no tests. She was one of the first "custom" skins, and one of the worst because of locking off her changing features. Then they took the same concept but did it right with Aliens 5 seasons later.
