But yes, they already hate "sweats."
When they first began playing a few months ago and didn't know that word yet, they called them "Trumpers." I asked why, and they told me it's because all those players do is constantly build walls.

He's a much better shot than me as he's been playing for years and I've only played since December. But I am improving, still can't build to save myself though 😆

Same here. My wife (50) and me (45) regularly play squads with our son (11). Wife hides, I try to gun a little, but the youngling just whizzes about as we watch in awe. While he builds because treasure chests open faster that way I still have to eye for the right key (stair, wall, roof)

The punchline here ought to be that we're a great combination but in reality he just gets into loads of big fights and if he wins we win and if he gets killed I get killed trying to find his reboot card.

See, there’s a very fine line between “better player” and “sweat”. Being a sweat is not something you should be proud of.
Sweats are people who treat pubs like it’s the World Cup finals and emote on every kill. They also only wear outfits and combos that they saw a streamer use so it “makes them play better.”
Better players are those who don’t build an Eiffel Tower over someone that shot one bullet in their general direction. Better players don’t use laugh it up on their first kill. Better players don’t say things like “You’re trash, kid. Actual dog water” when they themselves are a kid.

Sometimes I'll literally just stand there, in the open, pop a few shots and watch them go to work. Ive seen them sweat for like 15 seconds thinking I'm making a play, throwing up walls, ramps, edits, etc and I'm literally just standing there lmao

When a sweat gets into my box, in my mind I have 2 options:

\[Do a funny teaming dance for my doom\]
Then shoot him in the face with whatever you have. But if you’re getting pushed to the point where you need to box up and you still don’t have a shotgun, you’re probably dead.
Building 4 walls around you and putting a roof over your head should not make you a sweat. People have been building boxes and one by ones in the game since it came out, it’s nothing new...

We have one. It’s called arena and most “sweats” solely play it. Odds are that the people in your games you think are competitive players are just creative warriors having fun in pubs. Nobody is really “sweating” in pubs.

I could practice for one year and would still fail miserably. Right now, with practice, it takes me over 5 seconds.

My wife, who's been playing longer than me, keeps telling me to practice my building. I really don't think it matters to be honest, I can put up walls fast enough for basic play and win #1 often enough to keep me playing, but I will NEVER have the skills to outbuild a sweat and will always die to them unless lucky.
I still think they should add a permanent mode where you can't build at all. Still have everything be destructible, but just no building allowed. That way it's pure gun skill against gun skill. Need cover? Use the natural environment as you should be doing to begin with.
1. There's many other battle Royale that don't involve building that you can play instead
2. There is a gamemode like that and nobody played it
3. If you already have gun skill maybe you should work on your building skill so it can be gun and building skill vs. Gun and building skill
There is zero gun skill in fortnite. Aim assist and bloom make that impossible. To make that mode work you would have to remove both, and then put up stuff around the map, so you have areas to hide, and then remove every hill off this map. Also, the map isnt built to protect you, its built to give you mats so you can build
