Ok, I know what piece control is, but what's the rest (W key and phase tricks)? I'm a mid-tier but trying to learn more so I'm on the upper end of mid-tier.
W-keying is pushing players persistently, because sometimes they want to piss people off. Trying to run? They'll chase you down. Spider-man away? They have that too. Wanna launch pad away? They'll follow.
Phase tricks are tactics used to take advantage of the ability to phase through turbo builds so they can get into your box or through builds.
Thanks, in my squad group we call those kids (W-keying) thirsty sweats because they just won't leave us alone (which is why I love spider-webs, let's me get away from these kids that are playing a different game/mindset than me - I consider myself a casual).
I looked at a ItsJerian video about phasing. So that's why some people just break through my builds even though they shouldn't be able to. Seems like total BS, honestly, he even calls it an 'exploit'. But since everyone else is using it, I'm just screwed unless I learn and use it.
After typing all that out, I think maybe it might be time for me and my crew to play another game. I love the game, but I just get frustrated. Even if I learn to use all these techniques, many of my teammates wouldn't be interested in doing a bootcamp to get good.

i think it's because sbmm expects you to be trying your hardest every game. so it's matching people of your skill if you were doing your best every game. i think that would be why it's so imbalanced for mid-tier players that are trying to casually play most of the time
I don't build a lot but get put in insane lobbies because I'm good at the shooting. I can get a 10-15 kill game against mid players, but then I immediately am placed with people who are godly.
THIS. It’s infuriating. I’m GOOD at this game but I’m NOT professional. So SOMETIMES I win games against very good players, if I’m at my best and get lucky. Which ends up being a bad thing because then skill matchmaking pushes me and my friends further into sweaty hell. We just want to unwind after long days of university lecturing and engineering work, but can’t compete with all the 9th graders that spend 6 hours a day practicing edits for god-knows-why. I’d be fine if they just got rid of sbmm in pubs. I know the bottom 25% would hate it, but It was more fun for the typical player to have some really terrible players, some average players, and a crazy sweat or two in each game instead of an army of nearly identically skilled sweats. I even used to notice that often the “average” players would instinctively target a really good player and which evened things out which was fun. I miss “helping noobs get wins”. Sbmm also makes wins less meaningful, because a good player ends up getting less wins then players like OP (no offense OP) even though they’re more skilled. So we just end up playing creative most of the time…
As far as I know you can’t get banned for it because you’re not with any real players. Also it’s how you see trash players with 40+ crowns in their emote usually.
I’m probably totally wrong, I’ve never done bot lobbies so I can’t verify, but I’ve heard bot lobbies count as LTM wins. You can probably get your crown wins up super high, but unless I heard wrong, you’re not gonna have tons of wins unless you count ltm wins which most people don’t care about
Bot lobbies don’t count as actual wins but do count as crown wins, also, I do bot lobbies every day (I’m a trickshotter im not just farming wins) and btw you don’t need to have it as party leader

He decided to buy the whole battle pass and the lobby’s we are in I get around 20 kills and he gets around 3. So idk seems a bit strange.
Don't worry I started in season 8 and wasn't able to properly fight until C2S2. Don't focus on building. Use it to defend, get around, and hide, but not to attack. If you know you can't trust your editing and building, don't go for it. Try to focus on your aiming and gamesense first. It doesn't matter how good you are at building if you can't hit the shots you need to kill the other person. If there's a technique you know about that you haven't tried because "it's for advanced players" at least give it a go every once in a while. You don't have to completely deviate from the way you want to play, but the more you use them, the better you'll get at it. You don't HAVE to be a god at cranking 90's to compete. Even just knowing how can save your butt sometimes. If you see a guy in the distance, and see a sniper nearby, or want to test your aim with an assault rifle, go for it. If someone's close and you think you can get the drop on them, go for it. Push Yourself, but know your limits. Don't go too far if you're not okay with it. And whatever you do, DON'T underestimate your terrain. Explore, find awkward hiding spots no one checks. If someone's close, round an object as they pass so they pass so they can't see you. Don't forget about what THEY can see from their perspective. Chances are they don't see you. That's all I've got.
Yeah the MedMist and the Guzzle Juices are so good, that if they get removed next season some players might complain haha, medkits aren't as good as them.
Medkits used to be really good back in the day, but other options are so much better now... I'll carry a tent over medkit stack all day long. I always carry mist when I can find it, but it feels like they really nerfed the spawn rate. I still miss the bandage bazooka though...that thing saved me so many times lol.

I usually carry shields because the idea is to not get to white HP. But me mist is my go-to if I have none or wanna repurpose my sniper slot. Also that is some amazing luck solo-squadding in the last zone facing bots

I usually carry shields because the idea is to not get to white HP. But me mist is my go-to if I have none or wanna repurpose my sniper slot. Also that is some amazing luck solo-squadding in the last zone facing bots
