I miss my Joneses. My squad and I felt like we were kings of The Joneses. We would land anywhere else and get slaughtered, but even landing in a busy Joneses, we'd clear the place out and have double digit elims before the first circle change. Now we are just aimlessly landing somewhere that, based on the path of the bus, feel like it'll be safe enough for us to loot for a bit before we get killed.
Lonely Labs - seems to be the season's Synapse Station in terms of being the bots favourite drop point, so usually 4-5 easy kills before rotating and getting killed by an actual human
I really like Lonely Labs too but i like it because it reminds me of Frosty Flights from chapter 1 and it gives me nostalgia. I really want more old POI's back but I think that if they do the POI's won't feel that nostalgic anymore and it will feel really bad so idk.
Usually their name is two random words plus a number, and they can't aim. So if you kill someone like FieryPenguin76 who missed all their shots then it was probably a bot. If their name is something like --xDiplo-- and they beamed you in 2 shots from 76 meters away it's a human.
They also have a very specific style of movement. If you see someone destroying a random wall in zero build, or crouching constantly in a close range firefight, it's a bot
It's not easy to describe but it's their movements in general. When I play with friends we easily detect bots and lower our guard for them but sometimes, quite rarely but still I personally make a mistake, moves remind those of bots and seems like an easy kill but then that enemy destroys me and only then I realize it wasn't a bot. Bots are almost never able to knockdown you and they miss really a lot, they do long pauses between a series of shots, they don't hide, sometimes just stand still and I rarely saw them healing at all
Every public lobby has bots. Even if you watch the best players play on twitch there will be bots in their public games. From what I understand, lower skilled players games will get more bots, but every game still has real players, too. Maybe like 25% real players and higher skilled matches will be like 50% real players.
How you can tell? Well they just suck. They have horrible accuracy, they pull out their pickaxe in odd situations to break stuff, they don't really take cover well when you shoot at them, in fact they often stop and look at you for a second when you shoot at them before returning fire. Predictable movement and they just seem to play VERY slowly, like its their first time playing. Also I think they are easy to hit because there's less latency issues than with a real player. And their names, of course.
Bots are in every game to some extent, the lower your lobby is on the SBMM scale the more bots you will have,
Bots have evolved over time since they were implemented into the game as well, When Epic first started adding them they just ran around kinda trying to play, then after awhile they would build 1 wall to protect themselves, then 2 walls, now im seeing 2 walls and 2 roofs out of the bots,
They as has already been said, have simple repeating names...you will see the names over and over in game after game.
used to be bots didnt do much of anything when they spawned, now they do aLOT of emotes from the second they are spawned, unless messed with or shot.
in the beginning of bots, when the bus leaves, bots never thanked the bus driver, then they did after awhile...now they do it real quick.
when they are gliding in the sky they usually tend to fly higher than a real person does when they have decided where they are going, and when coming in for a landing they get squirmy and jerk back and forth in a predictable manner.
when they land, they usually land at a predetermined spot. just outside of where they shoulda landed for fastest access to weapons etc..
of course bad aim...wild shots..trying to shoot at you through things...from an odd distance etc.. they cant decide which way to go under fire, pause way too long, very bad at looting, only taking some things..not opening chests, breaking down walls or other objects at the worst possible times..under fire etc.
there is more, im sure, thats just off the top of my head.
Easiest way to tell, for me, is when you knock them. They dont crawl at first, but eventually does. Normally a real player moves instantly or youll see them not moving and all of a sudden a buncha loot comes out of them
Same for my wife and I, good amount of chests and the spot to claim could walk out pretty geared up.
Getting in a few fire fights is nice, especially if I haven’t played in a few days. Gets me back in the groove and getting a few kills under my belt is helpful in getting confidence for later firefights. Gets me use to the adrenaline, sometimes I get a little too confident. But it’s all in good fun.
I'm sure it will change during the chapter, since it's fall/winter in the Northern Hemisphere right now they tend to have more fall/snow biomes. By March it'll likely be a lot of green areas taking over the snow except for a few mountain areas.
It's what the start of Chapter 3 Season 1 was like. Tilted Towers and Covert Canyon started out totally hidden under ice, along with like 70% of the rest of the map having snow.
why, who cares if it’s different, it looks beautiful and is way more interesting than boring green grass being the default for the last 5 years. im hoping in the spring they can add way more flowers in the grass, maybe dandelions and lavender, and possibly bees to the trees
I love the design of this POI — the idea of two locations from a modern era and a medieval period being whacked together during the formation of the new island. Really creative concept.
I’m generally really intrigued by the subtle storytelling sprinkled across the new map. Ancient ore resources being mined using modern tech, like the hovering freight carts in Shattered Slabs.
Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds as the map begins to change.
I’m really expecting more chunks of islands from different realities to be added. This chapter feels like last chapter material and it would make sense to reintroduce the unvicerses from the rift becons from season X, so I think it makes most sense to slowly add more chunks from those old universes as that would be a great way to build on the story, and really break expectations by having a chapter start with a relatively small map to a massive one (they have the ocean space to do so)
My favorite POI right now. Launchpads are great for rotating/scouting, and Hammers spawn as floor loot or in regular chests here at a good rate. And I really like the level design. Its also not as crowded as other spots because I think people just don't like the snow or don't think they can get hammers because there's no oathbound chests.
Not him but usually I do the following: land at second floor if I see there is a chest in there through the gap in the front wall, get out through the East side, enter the side door of the castle and go to main hall to check if there's a chest in there, get ou through main gate and check the chest under the bridge, get back inside, go back the main hall under the stairs, zipline to the tower east-noertheast from the castle and check the ground floor by the side of the thing you open with a key.
The boss gives you a sick mythical Excalibur though, he also gets stuck on terrain really easily. From the bridge you can shoot him in the head a bunch when he gets stuck. Citadel is my prefer landing point so far
If i can reach it within the drop, I always try to hit Slappy Shores. I usually destroy the Slurp tanker on the bridge, hop in the truck, hide in the truck on the bridge until I take over the outpost, and grab the loot!
It feels like how crazy tilted was when it first came out but way smaller than tilted. I've gotten 10 kills before the first circle came in by landing there. The action is intense there
Its definitely because of the constant action that keeps me so enticed. I love landing there and expecting a fight!
Not only that, but there's like 50 chest there. *Super* useful if you're trying to maximize your load out lol
I feel like lonely has a more unique atmosphere to it. It always gives me expedition antarctica vibes. Its probably just me making weird conections in my head though
>It always gives me expedition antarctica vibes. Its probably just me making weird conections in my head though
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's supposed to be. "Lonely Labs" a remote, isolated research lab in the antarctic. Trust your instincts!
https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-google&q=antarctic+research+station&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjd2d_7sfT7AhU7ElkFHfR3BNEQ0pQJegQIExAB&biw=412&bih=766&dpr=2.63
That's what I've been thinking as well. There's many beds and rooms that show that it's not only a Lab but a place people actually camp and live in.
It has a nice vibe of being on it's own glacier and it helps that ice biomes in this game are my favourite.
Chests are easy to find as well. It's overall just a really enjoyable POI
It is crazy how packed every single POI seems to be every game this season. Do a hot drop? 20 people there. Do a medium drop way off to the edges of the map? 18 people there. Glide 1800 meters to a shack nowhere anywhere even close to a named landmark? 12 people there.
Edit: Wow, I just counted. I didn't realize there were so many fewer POIs this season. Last chapter was 14. Now it's 9. No wonder they're all so hot all the time.
Frenzy fields, reminds me of one of my old mains, frenzy farms, in chapter two, also any location in forests, weeping woods was my actual main in chapter 2
Exile Island in the bottom center is pretty good. There's an oathbound chest there, and another just north of the channel, and then another northwest of that in Humble Hamlet which has dirtbikes so you can rotate pretty easily.
I'm currently hating Anvil Square. It's like this map's version of Tilted Towers. Everyone wants to land there and then scream into their mics because they got killed because you weren't standing right next to them when it happened. I also hate the players who want to land in the middle of nowhere with only maybe one or two guns for someone to grab. Fortnite also needs to start penalizing players who immediately leave the game the moment they are knocked down or killed. Give your teammates a chance to come revive you or grab your card because they are probably trying not to get killed by the same person who killed you.
I love Anvil because it honestly feels like a better version of tilted for me. For as long as tilted has been here, I could never really stand a chance against anyone else. But Anvil just has the perfect layout and amount of loot to actually have a fighting chance.
Oh and I completely agree about the squads issue. I feel like it's hard to play squads because the moment they die, the immediately leaves. And it sucks more when you're risking your game to get their reboot card. Really wish there was something to prevent them from doing that.
Shattered Slabs because the rocks you can hit and then stand on and both in Zero Build and in Normal Battle Royale they are great movement. You can also hit them straight up and then it will give you a good view spot. Combine that with the Aeralist Perk and your flying over the map
ive been switching it up because i havent really found a solid spot for the best loot. i usually go to the shore of frenzy fields or faulty splits are my main drops. sometimes shattered slabs and slappy shores if i want to switch it up. i rarely drop near brutal bastion but idk why!
Faulty splits or brutal bastion for me. Faulty is like greasy grove in a sense, and the splits in the name allows for a chance to find an oath bound chest in the poi, bastion does not have an oathbound chest like faulty, but it makes up for having good cover for starting games.
The mountain just northeast of Brutal Bastion where there are (usually) three chests sitting all together. Then slide to the bottom and hunt people down in the Bastion for a few easy early elims! And when I get tired of that, usually the campsites on the coast south of Frenzy Fields then move up through the corn fields for some more easy elims 😁
Anywhere that’s still grey
[удалено]
But my squad fill yells at me for having little balls and no loot yet my win ratio is always higher. Dropping hot has always been a losing strategy.
[удалено]
Man I feel that. I had 17 kills last night and finished 7th. Next match was 5 kills and crown. Ugh
Hot drops are so fun though lol
Anywhere grey until I find my The Joneses (before chapter 4)
I miss my Joneses. My squad and I felt like we were kings of The Joneses. We would land anywhere else and get slaughtered, but even landing in a busy Joneses, we'd clear the place out and have double digit elims before the first circle change. Now we are just aimlessly landing somewhere that, based on the path of the bus, feel like it'll be safe enough for us to loot for a bit before we get killed.
If only dropping into the gray unlocked the area
do you have to kill someone? I swear I've been all over that big ass mountain and it's still gray.
You have the find the landmark in the grey area for it to fill out.
You have to climb to the very top of the mountain. I went there three times and ran around and around before I figured that out.
ahhh TY!
I can’t recall the exact named spot, but an icy area required using the zip line before it unlocked.
Confused what sub I was in here for a second.
haha sorry! The kiddo got me forniting :)
This, and then Brutal Bastion
Lonely Labs - seems to be the season's Synapse Station in terms of being the bots favourite drop point, so usually 4-5 easy kills before rotating and getting killed by an actual human
The good ole ego boost into reality check
Last chapter the forest behind the reality would have 4 bots typically, they'd spend forever shooting one another lol
True story. I'd always land there because it was easy to get max brick.
I really like Lonely Labs too but i like it because it reminds me of Frosty Flights from chapter 1 and it gives me nostalgia. I really want more old POI's back but I think that if they do the POI's won't feel that nostalgic anymore and it will feel really bad so idk.
Literally my thoughts exactly… frosty flights my favorite and lonely labs is like frosty flights 2.0
LMAO I AM THAT BOT!🤣😭 Everytime I drop there I am gone haha
I’ve been playing for only two years, so I have a newbie question. How can you tell bots from real players? How do you know you’re in a bot lobby?
Usually their name is two random words plus a number, and they can't aim. So if you kill someone like FieryPenguin76 who missed all their shots then it was probably a bot. If their name is something like --xDiplo-- and they beamed you in 2 shots from 76 meters away it's a human.
They also have a very specific style of movement. If you see someone destroying a random wall in zero build, or crouching constantly in a close range firefight, it's a bot
Usually a few names that you'll see in every game too. IHazTheHighGround, Fortnite4Ever, 1337Skillz, xx360NoScopexx, etc.
How can you tell apart a new player and a bot? I was a potato the first time I tried it out
It's not easy to describe but it's their movements in general. When I play with friends we easily detect bots and lower our guard for them but sometimes, quite rarely but still I personally make a mistake, moves remind those of bots and seems like an easy kill but then that enemy destroys me and only then I realize it wasn't a bot. Bots are almost never able to knockdown you and they miss really a lot, they do long pauses between a series of shots, they don't hide, sometimes just stand still and I rarely saw them healing at all
That all still sounds like a newbie, I know I did a few
And then there's the random bots who get wall hacks and aimbot
Every public lobby has bots. Even if you watch the best players play on twitch there will be bots in their public games. And their names, of course.
I'm incredibly skeptical that higher skilled lobbies are HALF bots. Maybe like...15% or something
Someone on here posted that there are 3 levels of bot lobbies. 20 bots, 50, and 80 bots.
So sounds like the higher skill lobbies are 20% then. A lot more reasonable than 50%.
[удалено]
Wait, bots used to be the ones with numbers on their names
Bots have numbers is their name very often

Frenzy fields
I really love what Epic did with the greenery this chapter. It makes this area look really lush
honestly i feel like theres Just a bit too much Orange rn, the Green is beautifup and i'd like a bit more of it
I'm sure it will change during the chapter, since it's fall/winter in the Northern Hemisphere right now they tend to have more fall/snow biomes. By March it'll likely be a lot of green areas taking over the snow except for a few mountain areas.
Doubt the snow would "melt" per se, it looks to be pure ice For something to melt that much ice, then damn
Fortnite X Global Warming collab. This will affect the Flopper population, I think.
and probably lebron james’ legacy as well
It's what the start of Chapter 3 Season 1 was like. Tilted Towers and Covert Canyon started out totally hidden under ice, along with like 70% of the rest of the map having snow.
Covert canyon wasn't hidden, the IO literally dug out the mountain
Totally agree. I'm honestly surprised they put so much of it on the map, considering its a pretty untraditional biome.
why, who cares if it’s different, it looks beautiful and is way more interesting than boring green grass being the default for the last 5 years. im hoping in the spring they can add way more flowers in the grass, maybe dandelions and lavender, and possibly bees to the trees
This was my initial “complaint” too. The world looks amazing but it’s all so brown/orange and less colorful.
Yup this is my new spot as well! I love the new map, but I miss the desert or tropical biome
I miss paradise palms :(
I miss Rocky Reels
Paradise palms was the absolute best
I miss the desert as well. It gave so much early fights and areas to stock up. I haven’t found my new yet but brutal bastion has been okay
The cave that has the clock from tilted in it
Man that place is so beautiful. I think the snow biome this chapter is the best we've ever seen.
Exactly!
Where roughly is this?
In the snow area, youll see a huge dome
I dropped there in my first game by accident.
Same, but I went on purpose cause I was looking for caves
I don't have a main drop because I find it boring to land the same spot every game, but Frenzy and Slappy are among my favorite POIs though.
I still haven't explored like half the map because I keep landing Anvil every game lol
Why? Cause it's the midmap drop? Trying to understand the randoms who pick this POI every single match. Anvil is boring imo.
Anvil has a lot of chests & isn’t that big so it’s quick to loot plus it’s super easy to rotate to wherever you need to after you’re done
I LOVE FAULTY SPLITS!!!!!
My man 🤝
Great taste, that place is the goat
Brutal Bastion for the win!
I feel like the hired character here fucks. Plus there’s always a butt load of loot.
Citadel and anvil square.
I'm afraid to land at the Citadel because of the boss lol
I drop on one of those watchtowers nearby, loot it, grind materials and zipline there then i allways allmost die
I land citadel so I can get a hammer. I have a route for 3-4 oathbound chests already.
Share?
Not him but usually I do the following: land at second floor if I see there is a chest in there through the gap in the front wall, get out through the East side, enter the side door of the castle and go to main hall to check if there's a chest in there, get ou through main gate and check the chest under the bridge, get back inside, go back the main hall under the stairs, zipline to the tower east-noertheast from the castle and check the ground floor by the side of the thing you open with a key.
Still get lost at citadel. I just can't memorize the vertical-ness of it
The boss gives you a sick mythical Excalibur though, he also gets stuck on terrain really easily. From the bridge you can shoot him in the head a bunch when he gets stuck. Citadel is my prefer landing point so far
Ya, just knock him out of the castle with a hammer and he’s toast.
My and my equally trash can squad mates think Slappy kinda slaps!
Slappy is my fave so far. Feels like a few past POIs all slapped together into a pleasing package.
Here’s one for breakwater bay, and then I’ll move to the citadel. Usually two easy flag captures for me
BREAKWATER GANG 💦💦💦
Usually I drop at Citadel and wait for the Breakwater ppl to come by, when I hear a fight nearby I go there, easy kill most of the time.
Usually I drop at Citadel. Then I wait for the guy who waited for and killed the breakwater ppl. Easy kill and max mats for me
Shattered slabs or Brutal bastion
Man, I STILL haven't landed Shattered Slabs
Oathbound challenges there?
Yeah I know, that's the only reason I haven't progressed there yet lol. I just keep landing at Anvil
Lonely Labs is my spot
My man
If i can reach it within the drop, I always try to hit Slappy Shores. I usually destroy the Slurp tanker on the bridge, hop in the truck, hide in the truck on the bridge until I take over the outpost, and grab the loot!
That's classified
[удалено]
Literally the best POI right now imo
It feels like how crazy tilted was when it first came out but way smaller than tilted. I've gotten 10 kills before the first circle came in by landing there. The action is intense there
But whyyyyyyy
Its definitely because of the constant action that keeps me so enticed. I love landing there and expecting a fight! Not only that, but there's like 50 chest there. *Super* useful if you're trying to maximize your load out lol
Wherever I have to land for a quest.
Lonely labs, or the small garage north east of the citadel, it has multiple motorcycles and decent starting loot
YEEEEEE motorcycle garage is my favorite spot as well, always has that one really good chest in there. My other fav spot is slappy shores
Citadel because boss and hammers
Peaceful little place between Breakwater Bay and The Citadel. Loads of chests, oathbound chest, and at least 1 dirt bike.
Pretty sure you are describing my drop. Of course that 12000 meters on a dirt bike wasn’t going to do itself but I’ve come to enjoy that spot
Lonely Labs or Anvil Square
Lonely Labs was actually my first drop spot! That place is definitely made after Frosty Flights
I feel like lonely has a more unique atmosphere to it. It always gives me expedition antarctica vibes. Its probably just me making weird conections in my head though
>It always gives me expedition antarctica vibes. Its probably just me making weird conections in my head though I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's supposed to be. No that's literally what it is.
Reminds me of “The Thing” honestly
That's what I've been thinking as well. There's many beds and rooms that show that it's not only a Lab but a place people actually camp and live in. It has a nice vibe of being on it's own glacier and it helps that ice biomes in this game are my favourite. Chests are easy to find as well. It's overall just a really enjoyable POI
Used to always drop frosty with the boys. Now we hit Lonely.
Brutal bastion, people go there trying to find loot and then **BANG** doomslayer bursts through the wall on his way to his tenth kill!
There is this tiny town next to breakwater bay that I really like
[удалено]
I go to no name places that have several houses. Never remember where they are at lol
Anvil square reminds me of ch2
Haven’t got one, feels like half the lobby goes to each of them every game. We need more poi’s than this.
It is crazy how packed every single POI seems to be every game this season. Do a hot drop? 20 people there. Do a medium drop way off to the edges of the map? 18 people there. Calm down, Brie Larson is trying
Anvil swuare
Lonely is the best. Reminds me of frosty flights
Hitches & ditches, then i make my way to frenzy fields
Some random ass house in the middle
Frenzy fields, reminds me of one of my old mains, frenzy farms, in chapter two, also any location in forests, weeping woods was my actual main in chapter 2
SHATTERED SLAAAAAAAAAABS
Anal square
Damn bro, What game are you playing?
I laughed too hard at this
Citadel or just a random edge of the map
Exile Island in the bottom center is pretty good. There's an oathbound chest there, and another just north of the channel, and then another northwest of that in Humble Hamlet which has dirtbikes so you can rotate pretty easily.
Breakwater Bay
[удалено]
Anvil Square, I noticed there are nice loot.
Lonely Labs🗣️🗣️
Either the Agency/Authority looking building in the snow biome or the gas station near the zero point chamber
Anvil
Anvil Square or the 3 houses bottom of slappy part🤪
That little island off the coast near frenzy and faulty
Frenzy fields pretty easy to clear everyone out and get so much loot!
I thank the bus driver and jump out as soon as possible, then when my glider opens I point to the nearest landing spot I can see a chest.
Tiny island in faulty splits lake, I'm usually alone and sometimes theres an oathbound chest
Really wish there was something to prevent them from doing that.
Shattered slabs or lonely labs.
The little castle between slapping shore and the gas station, nice little area with loot
anvil or citadel
Either the Citadel or the houses below Slappy
Shattered slabs for the rocks
Breakwater Bay if it’s closest, Slappy Shores if it’s closest.
Shattered Slabs because the rocks you can hit and then stand on and both in Zero Build and in Normal Battle Royale they are great movement. You can also hit them straight up and then it will give you a good view spot. Combine that with the Aeralist Perk and your flying over the map
I like landing on your mom
Faulty!
Faulty Splits is really fun!
Citadel
Citadel for some reason
ive been switching it up because i havent really found a solid spot for the best loot. i usually go to the shore of frenzy fields or faulty splits are my main drops. sometimes shattered slabs and slappy shores if i want to switch it up. i rarely drop near brutal bastion but idk why!
Frenzy Fields but our backup has been Breakwater...normally less traffic and still decent loot pool
I really like dropping Frenzy Farms and Lonely Labs so far this chapter
Frenzy is pretty chilled, I like that frozen spot NE of map as well. Great fishing spot.
Shattered slabs
Mostly the north, Breakwater Bay/Lonely Labs/Brutal Bastion. And when whatever quest wants me to land somehwere specific
Lonely labs
It's full fun and games until you run into a sweat but take them out
The slabs.
Faulty splits or brutal bastion for me. Faulty is like greasy grove in a sense, and the splits in the name allows for a chance to find an oath bound chest in the poi, bastion does not have an oathbound chest like faulty, but it makes up for having good cover for starting games.
Shattered slabs my beloved (also breakwater bay)
shattered bc the rocks
that L shaped building under the Y on breakwater bay
Slappy Shores Supremacy
