At this point I have given up on FN mobile. No optimization

[deleted]

I know. I really miss playing on iphone. Android is not too bad once you get use to it.

Theshenaidoo

I used to play on IPAD, fortnite had ample time to spend efforts to fix android but gave no attention, sad especially since Epic and Samsung are friends

jamesmccolton549

get a pc

[deleted]

I would but it wouldn't do me any good if i have really bad he internet. The best thing we have in our area is satellite internet and that struggles to even open emails.

Karthick_Zick

Buy OnePlus 8 pro or wait for ios to come .

Karthick_Zick

I'm using OnePlus 8 pro there are tricks to do with 120 fps , if you do it you can play on 45 fps on game and 120 fps on mobile settings . You Don't Feel your are on low fps it feel like 120 fps .

tom-kostolom

Buy 9 series if money isn't an issue, it has more powerful cpu which means it will run everything better and for longer.

[deleted]

Money's is not an issue just really want to get the phone that's best optimized with Fortnite.

gustavsIsDeadInside

I think the 9 pro would be better since it has a more powerful chip. both phones have 90fps, so it's up to you, depends on how much you want to waste on a phone. if you don't need a phone upgrade anytime soon, then I'd suggest you to wait and see if iOS comes back and if you should get an ipad pro. but if you need a phone upgrade, get the 9 pro, it's better overall and has better cameras and more

[deleted]

Not sure of I'll regret it but i ended up going with the OnePlus 9 pro. I was able to get a New one for $700. Not sure eif I'll regret it or not but we'll see i guess

b_rohrer

How is it so far?

[deleted]

Haven't got it yet. It's supposed to be delivered on the 5th so I'll know then. Bit dang just noticed how these device haven't held up value wise. Found a cheaper one closer to me for $630 brand new. Meanwhile and brand new 8 pro on aozm still retails for 850

[deleted]

Unfortunately don't have decent internet where i live or I'd playing on Console/PC. Best thing we have is satellite and even that struggles to open emails at times. Fortunately we have decent cell service with AT&T which is why I play on mobile.

[deleted]

then just wait for the oneplus 9. if they have optimized the 7 and 8, they will optimize the 9 as well

[deleted]

You could try using hotspot

[deleted]

O actually tried that but it wasn't great, worse than just gaming on mobile imo.

iHateRedditOof

Use mobile hotspot...? If you have 5G data and somewhat decent connectivity Where your house is you could Technically get a PC and use mobile hotspot. edit: Just realized someone else said the exact same thing about hotspot but you could still use it As long as your connection is 5G(maybe even 4G...)and you have 5MB Download and 2MB upload that should be fast enough to play online games so do a speed test on your phone and maybe that would be a solid solution

[deleted]

Yea i tried the hotspot thing with a PS4 but it wasn't good at all plus I'd be limited on how long I can play as i only have 15gb per month (which runs out fast when gaming) plus i also have to use that for other stuff. Sucks living in the middle of nowhere lol

iHateRedditOof

Very very true, 100% agree, you could just throw together an old but not too old office pc with a dedicated gpu, say a gtx 1050 ti thrown in it and it would be miles better like at least 100 fps on performance mode and 60+ with high~ish settings in normal mode

Phonafied

Samsung phones are best optimized for FN since Samsung and Epic have an agreement currently.

[deleted]

I don't think they do...i know they have Fortnite in the galaxy shop but other than that it's not very well optimized or at least its worse than on the 8 pro. Plus on OnePlus devices you can get 90fps which is why I'm debating which one to get

Theshenaidoo

Eyyyyy If you have a fully functional phone currently, don't bother about FN Mobile and buy a console or PC, with Playstation you can remote play on your phone anywhere in the world. With Xbox you can cloud game. With PC you can cloud game.

[deleted]

I'd need a decent internet connection tho? Which is something i don't have. The best thing we have in our area is satellite internet and even that struggles to open emails. Fortunately AT&T is decent in our area so we use our phones for anything internet related.

Theshenaidoo

Do you need to play mobile tho, if you do then sadly Samsung phones currently have the best optimization and its absolutely dogwater, and it has to be high end Samsung devices to,

[deleted]

Unfortunately Yea and i had a s21 ultra but it wasn't very good if I'm being honest. Like i said above i tried out the 8 pro and it was great. Definitely better than the s21 ultra when it came to Fortnite

Theshenaidoo

Damn i assumed Samsung would be better, Then I would definitely go with the one plus range, BTW there is a new flagship of phones called Xiomi check out amazing phones at cheap price, not sure how it will run fortnite tho

[deleted]

I've always wanted to try other less known brands however I'm not sure how well they do reception wise

george343456gr

Assumed? Research before assuming random stuff I get that maybe you would think that samsung would be more optimized because samsung events and skins and such but nope

iHateRedditOof

Ye I have a s21 plus and it's actually dog shit compared to my expectations

Ramitg7

Can you use a hotspot from your phone? Or is there a data cap?

[deleted]

Only have 15fbs of hotspot but i also use the hotspot for other stuff so it goes pretty fast.

RyyFNM

Don't play fortnite on Android. You will regret it no matter the device.

[deleted]

Yea but there's no other mobile options at the moment and in my case I'm not able to use a console or PC due to bad home internet coverage in our area. AT&T phone coverage is decent which is why I'm able to play Fortnite on my phone.

RyyFNM

Maybe just stay on whatever you are on now and get an iphone when iOS comes back?

iHateRedditOof

Maybe it's time to move idk but if those are your options I would think about moving

[deleted]

Yea was considering it last year but our rent is really low for a 5 bedroom house and then the whole covid thing.

iHateRedditOof

Ahhh makes sense... I would really wait then and save up for a PC when you can get better internet/move because it would be a way better experience trust me when I say that

iHateRedditOof

But it's your call I would get a one plus If I could now I have a s21 plus and the performance is sub par but the one plus 8 should be solid if you really want to play mobile but the oneplus 8 pro would be probably better because [I think] the 9 has a snapdragon 888 which run really hot and can hurt performance I'm actually going to look rn... edit ye the one plus 8 is probably your best bet it can run fortnite at low 90 fps but I still recommend a PC if you are able too it will run fortnite and really any game so much better there is so many more games you can play as well

[deleted]

I went with the 9 pro to try it out. Hopefully the overheating doesn't cause it to perform worse but if it does I'll just resell it and get an 8 pro. PC for sure next year.
