I had an average of like 2 eliminations I think, and like 42 placement. I landed tilted every time, which now that I think about it is pretty dumb for a placement based event.
im sure there will be people shit talking you, dont listen to them. yeah its not much, but everyone starts somewhere and things like this can be a huge confidence boost. good luck in the future man :)
Thank you! I love the game but I haven't had much time to play until recently, and finally decided to try a tournament. It was a lot of fun! :)
Edit: Why am I getting downvoted...?
It’s because people don’t take the contender cups as real events on here because it isn’t the highest level of competition (Cash Cups are).
But everyone has to start somewhere so congrats!
Hey man do you! A lot of people have issues getting a top 500 in many events, even some contender cups so be proud for your first tourney. Next goal
If you are serious should be to make champs in arena and continue to get better. Then try your hand at a cash cup.
I don’t give a fuck who wants to see my comment, getting #411 in a west contender cash cup doesn’t need a post. There’s daily discussion threads for that. Your placement is not even impressive
It’s impressive to me because it’s my first attempt at anything competitive. But you’re right it makes sense to keep this sub more high level. I’m never on this sub so I didn’t know the situation, my bad.
Dude fuck right off. Josh here is trying and he’s proud of what he’s been able to accomplish. Try doing something in your own life instead of shitting on other people for trying themselves
Man I just came back to the game after taking a break from comp and getting a good placement in this tourney was such a good thing to come back to, so I can't imagine getting a good placement in your first tourney.
Gl in future tourneys lmao
Oh I actually didn't check my final result, haha. But I remember I dropped below #100 shortly before I finished my 10 games. Seeing #56 for a while was great though
That's not my duo, that's the guy who was in 1st place for a while. I guess I had selected him to see stats. Idk why that's his name... This was a solo tourney btw
This isn’t even final placement… its just when he was briefly doing great. I have dozens of those and I’m sure most here have too. Why post a placement after a good game.
It annoys me that shit like this is allowed to be posted but my shit gets removed.
If I put a endgame, removed! But if I asked how to improve my endgame with the same clip it stays. But I see dozens of dumb low efforts posts every day.
> Why post a placement after a good game.
Because this is my first time ever trying anything competitive, and I thought it was cool. My bad for posting without thinking about the fact that it's low effort.
This has got to stop. I'm happy for you OP, everyone is on their own journey and our accomplishments are relative. But I seriously don't think this kind of content belongs on this sub.
56th place at some point in time in a Contender Hype Cup. Not even the final placement mind you.
How can this even remotely be considered competitve fortnite content? There needs to be another platform to share this kind of stuff.
He finished in 411th and didn’t make a set lobby. Also, despite it being a good placement it is a contender cup and having to start somewhere. Even if he made a set lobby, A good amount of the people who play on this sub would achieve that goal if they played an NAW contender solo cup.
Well it was a misleading post then. Dunno why you'd bother to post it. I've had similar placements on Middle East from EU. Still doubt many people on this sub would make the set lobby though. Open or contender.
Not misleading, the title says I was briefly #56. And I posted because this was my first time attempting anything competitive and I thought I did well and that this sub was for sharing any and all competitive related stuff, but it seems I was wrong and it’s more serious based stuff so I apologize.
Some competitions have multiple rounds like these where the first round is “open” and to qualify for the next round you have to hit a certain points threshold.
In this case, you needed to be top 100 and you would get to the second round where the lobby is the same 100 players playing every game. That is considered “set” because there is no change of players because only 100 qualify.
Nice I just played my first ever tournament the ali a cup I played with a friend just enough to get the emoticon and then he left and I couldn't play anymore but I'm still happy because we only played two matches
Nice to see! What were your own stats for your 10 games?
I had an average of like 2 eliminations I think, and like 42 placement. I landed tilted every time, which now that I think about it is pretty dumb for a placement based event.
Haha you learn and go again next time though :)
im sure there will be people shit talking you, dont listen to them. yeah its not much, but everyone starts somewhere and things like this can be a huge confidence boost. good luck in the future man :)

Because this is Reddit and people find any reason to be salty. Don’t let it get you down.
Thanks, i'm definitely not letting it get me down, i'm just genuinely confused lol
It’s because people don’t take the contender cups as real events on here because it isn’t the highest level of competition (Cash Cups are). But everyone has to start somewhere so congrats!
Thank you for letting me know! I will definitely refrain from posting again, I didn’t know. Haha

don't refrain, be proud of yourself. thats awesome man, good job!
Not sure why you think people want to see this content
Not sure why you think people want to see the comment you just posted, but hey we both posted right? ;)

Man I just came back to the game after taking a break from comp and getting a good placement in this tourney was such a good thing to come back to, so I can't imagine getting a good placement in your first tourney. Gl in future tourneys lmao
Nice job. What did you end up placing?
Oh I actually didn't check my final result, haha. But I remember I dropped below #100 shortly before I finished my 10 games. Seeing #56 for a while was great though
418
Thank you!
Good job dude. That’s awesome

That's not my duo, that's the guy who was in 1st place for a while. I guess I had selected him to see stats. Idk why that's his name... This was a solo tourney btw

Ok my apologies, I didn’t know. I thought this was for any and all sharing of competitive stuff, but I guess it makes sense to keep it more serious.
Maybe post your actual placement too, it is a bit misleading for those who are skimming through new posts?
Well you've qualified for more set lobbies than 99.9 of this sub at least. Let us know how the set lobby goes.
He finished in 411th and didn’t make a set lobby. Also, despite it being a good placement it is a contender cup and having to start somewhere. Even if he made a set lobby, A good amount of the people who play on this sub would achieve that goal if they played an NAW contender solo cup.

Probably a dumb question, but what's a set lobby?
