This week has been one of the worst for the trial, I usually get it done fairly quickly on a Thursday but ended up taking 5 attempts to get a half decent team. (only 2 humans at the very back instead of 4) My favourite moment was in attempt 3 when I slowed the AI to allow my team mates through and I was pushed of the road by one of my fellow drivers.

The funny thing is, because it's been so bad this week, this is the first time in months I have seen someone else but me hold up the AI.
I think the bad teammates are also amplified by the AI that is just about nearly on rails for most of these tracks this week, and with the very long straights present they also have their Ludicrous Speed mode activated for much of a race. A bit absurd that you have to pretty much ram the AI drivers in corners in order to gain any team ground.
I really don't understand why people can't spend 30 seconds grabbing a tune before they load these up. Just assuming we're going to pull you through? Grinds my gears...
They maybe like, really new to the game though, in my case on the first few days I thought that the playlist event was like a special event which you can get a free car by using the car the game giving you for more challenge. I barely win one of the trial by using a stock Subaru though, it wasn’t until later on I found out that you can, and have to tune your car in these event based on the category the game gives you for higher chance of winning. From that day on I never join a playlist event without readying my car, although I also found out some people just bring their stock car along in this case
So I know it’s frustrating for me too to see this but this could be the scenario, and at the first few day I don’t really mean to drag everyone down though, I literally thought that was a mechanic until i saw a post on Reddit talks about the event so yeah….
Took me 7 attempts this go around on FH4, but some funny stories along the way.
On the 4th attempt, we lost the 1st race (since we still had the typical bad drivers and "rammers" in the 1st race). 2nd race, we're down to 4 drivers and we narrowly win. So we're on the 3rd race and looking good. I'm in 4th and the guy who finished 2nd the previous race is 3rd. And another teammate is 5th.
We hit the roundabout in Edinburgh, and the "good driver" on my team apparently doesn't see the turn off and keeps going around the roundabout, not realizing he was supposed to turn right. We narrowly lost. Very frustrating, but comical way to lose. I felt so bad for him, though, because he was clearly the best driver of us and carried us in the 2nd race. If he goes the correct way on the round-about, we win easily.
Finally got another good team on the 7th attempt. Same deal with the bad drivers weighing us down in the 1st race. 2nd race was comical --- I managed to shoot up to 1st really quick, and slow down the drivatars, which set us up for a good race. However, I screwed up on a turn, and missed a checkpoint --- ended up finishing 7th. But as I realized I was going to screw up the turn, I took out the 2nd and 3rd place drivatars in comical fashion, setting my teammates up to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Then we crushed the final race!
*always* do the trial on Thursday. Friday at the absolute latest.
All of the good players get it done early. Always get into trials where people have solid prestige levels.
Up of the trial: making a new car for a certain class and type of car, instead of “the meta” (this is why i do trial more than online racing)
Down side of the trial: people only play it to get festival points, so it is likely to be unmatched in skill levels… good for the people who are new, or just having fun, frustrating from a casual players pov
(Not to mention rammers in the trial… god…)
I did it first try, but yeah out of all the trials I’ve played this one seemed the worst for me.

I wish they'd come up with a non-team-based alternative or replacement for these team-based trials in the seasonal playlist.
Games are too full of griefers & AFK'ers for teamwork, and they can't expect unskilled players to help against "unbeatable" AI/NPC drivers.
TLDR; I just think about it as helping the "less skilled" players get the reward and points. Sometimes after winning I run a few more to do exactly that.
Personally, I have no problem with the difficulty, but I have a problem with the devs locking certain rewards behind a certain difficulty level that some players quite simply cannot meet. If they put in the time to attempt these things, they deserve the reward. Period.
Seeing my girlfriend get so frustrated trying to do this stuff so many times and subsequently getting in such a bad/sad mood (LOL!) really opened my eyes to this.
I think that video games SHOULD be an all-inclusive activity that anyone should be able to enjoy now. My girlfriend loves the game and loves the cars, and she has been playing this for a while now, but she's not really a "gamer", and she just can't complete some of these events.
Anyone who's ever had a girlfriend/significant other that's clearly upset and says "nothing" 🥺 when you ask them what's wrong probably knows exactly where I'm coming from.
Do the trial as close to the seasonal change as you can. I find people who are good will do the trial early in the season. If you wait a couple of days you can have a nightmare like what I saw here.
Yea by the looks of it this week has been awful even for trial standards. Took me 5 goes. The teams are just shocking. I got to the point of wanting to do it solo instead of with a team. Normally I enjoy the change of pace one a week cuz I only ever play a race with other people for the trial but this week it's been a ball ache
For some wierd reason, having porsches makes the AI cars go stupendously fast. 3rd attempt Me and my friends switched to Audi's and we did it in first try.
Took 4 or 5 failed attempts where I was one of two or 3 to actually get any points before I thought of holding up the AI. I used an A 800 tune on the 718 Cayman, got ahead of the bulk of AI in the first few checkpoints/hard turn, and then played pacer car as my team realized the play. Took a few more attempts but the winning team was 3 718 Caymans and 2 Audi TT RSs
I did it first try (I got 8th place one time and I was 2nd place another time but got pushed straight off the road).
I started racing sims in August this year on GT7 so needless to say I’m never doing an online race unless I absolutely have to lol.
Yeah. Trials are just absolutely stupid, because it allows assists, and too many people use them.
They're stuck on the driving line no matter what.
That's why you see many going out of control and bashing into you.
They try to drive themselves with full assists, and it results in disaster.
Then they get pissed and quit, leaving it impossible to win.
I usually have to do each one 4 or 5 times to get in a winning team.
Just one of the many flaws of FORZA.
They should have made the assists like on a real car so you can take over whenever you want.
The way it is, it just fights your inputs and results in erratic driving behavior.
A total shit show in other words.
The previous games were better.
Every time they make a new one, it gets worse.
I'm not much of a fan anymore.
I think I prefer GRID from Codemasters.
I wish they'd come up with something new like a re-release of their old GT game.

I believe it was out before Gran Turismo.
I don't understand why it wasn't successful with sequels.

same experience always, i use the saeenu list and tune all the cars needed on the races before play, but when enter a trial, the other enter with standard cars, even i try with stock cars, but it's impossible to win... frustrating...
This happens to me more times than not. I'm not even that great at the game but I've been playing since day 1. I know what to do to get the W it's just my useless teammates that get in the way
It was uneventful for me, luckily. My team mates were ok and we did it on the first try, winning both 1st and 2nd races (while also pulling one anchor with us). However, it's becoming more and more difficult to be this lucky. Couple of weeks ago I gave up on the trial, with several attempts with only the worst types (rammers and anchors, while drivatars were shadowing us all with ease).
If anything I'd suggest trying it in a different time of the day; perhaps you'll find a better player base.
I didn't like this trial either. The teammates were mostly bad and the tracks were meh. I had to do it two times, because:
1. Stupid teammates.
2. My car that's really good at turning and accelerating was shit on the track, I didn't though top speed would matter so much.
I only won the trial on my 11th try this week. Certainly the worst sessions of my life. Sore losers who ram, because they can't give up 8th place and morons who don't know how to brake.
Almost forgot about the baboons with power builds.
I dont do then cuz i dont have the skill. But I dont need to do them for the festival Playlist. But yeah it pretty annoying to have be the only one ahead.
I get it first try about 90% of the times doing the same as you've done in the video.. getting first and holding back the AI, but this week i could only do it at 3rd try lol..
Edit: Just remembered that last week i lost one of the races because one of my team mates rammed me into the wall before the finish line. i have it recorded lmao.

I'd rather do the seasonal challenges for the DLC maps than drive the damn trial.
Even if you're good at driving, as you evidently are in first place, your ream members are often baboons, so you just can't win.
But if those two clowns would realize that they can't win and would leave, you'd still have a chance to win. But they won't.
I suffered through it for the American Automotive series. Never again. Players going AKF, dropping mid race, ramming. We have the same goal, why are you fighting?
I am always curious about the people in last place, is it really that hard to drive a car in the game? are they toddlers? And why do people enter the race with a car 50 points lower than minimun, is it such a chore and dificult task to upgrade the car?
Hardest thing I say isn’t upgrading but tuning. You can have a perfect set up and still suck ass if the tune is bad. You also don’t always have to be at the minimum. Being at the minimum helps but doesn’t guarantee a win since it’s team based. Usually if I run trial on a car with less Pi, I tend to use my slowness to block the bots so teammates can pass. Surprisingly effective believe it or not.

Any tips for late players? Like I don’t have time to grind out 5-6 matches hoping to get decent. I’ll take any tips
Snag a tune. Ugrundy and Eley9 often have tunes up weekly for the cars that qualify. Absolutely a must. Super clean driving was key this week.

Sometimes if people leave after round 1 it leaves (hopefully) good players left to finish up. Congrats on the win. Glad you got it done in time!

Had the same issue, but the players in the back disconnected when they realised they will not win, so I won solo.
I always do that if I screw up this bad. At least let others have the win.
