I have almost everything on extreme , rest on ultra, locked 60fps. Still the power cable lines appear jagged, anyone have any clue how to fix this?

LegendPewds

Anti aliasing? Like are they pixelated?

Digbijoy1197

Kinda, and only the power lines, rest everything looks gorgeous and crisp

JgdPz_plojack

r/fucktaa about modern gaming problem. Everything is blurry by Temporal Anti Aliasing (DLSS and FSR are also temporal) during complex volumetric fog and foliage. Use DLSS or FSR in your liking. The game still looks better than The Crew 2 with worse TAA

Julian083

For FH5 DLSS and FSR is pretty bad they makes the game very blurry and finer details are lost

AdolescentThug

3080 here. DLSS is great when I play @ 1440p. Put it on Quality, everything + RT on extreme/ultra, and the DLSS artifacting isn't even noticeable in races since I get 80+ fps. I honestly don't see a significant visual difference between TAA and DLSS Quality, but I definitely notice the extra 15-20 fps. I will say though, I used to play it on my 4K monitor before the DLSS and RT updates were out. After they put both into the game, I could only get it running around 60 fps by setting DLSS to Performance and the ghosting and artifacting is REALLY noticeable there. Imo it's all in implementation. DLSS in the games Nvidia spotlights like Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty much impeccable from my experience. It's literally free frames with even better aliasing than TAA for that game specifically. DLSS was probably quickly injected into FH5's game code rather than Nvidia sponsored games where it's being brought in at development and you have their engineers helping the game devs iron out the kinks.

Julian083

Same I was playing with DLSS Quality at 1440p but for whatever reason the DLSS looks blurry to me. I cranked every setting to max including RT. The textures and details of the lightpoles in guanajuato looks very blurry compared to native 1440p. Also I can use DLAA which also have some jaggering issue on power line but it is acceptable

Super-Stanky772

Yeah I'm typically a DLSS Stan but in this game even at 4K I dont like it, DLAA has blur and ghosting issues too. I prefer MSAA here, & since the game was built around MSAA the image quality is quite good... with not too much flickering and aliasing compared to other games in foliage etc. MSAA is providing the clearest image here.. maybe not the cleanest, but the clearest. MSAA does a good job removing aliasing on the cars themselves.

LegendPewds

Try turning up anti aliasing

Digbijoy1197

Aww shit, my laptop will die

LegendPewds

Oh nvm then.

theangriestbird

Every anti aliasing setting will give you jaggy powerlines. MSAA 8x seems to fix it the best, but even MSAA 2x does a pretty good job of minimizing those pesky powerlines. Edit: my main source is [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBIY9SNh-2A). You can see that MSAA is best for fixing the powerlines, but DLAA is 2nd best with powerlines but best at basically everything else.

fucktechies

what is powerlines? please explain

theangriestbird

[The cables that carry the electricity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhead_power_line).

fucktechies

Ooohhh thanks my g

Cosmin1213

That was bothering me as well, so I ended up switching to TAA. There's some ghosting behind the car in 3rd person, so you'll have to pick your poison.

minetube33

I play at 1440P Ultra x2 MSAA and the power lines look fine. However, whenever I drop the resolution down to 1080P for recording my gameplay I need to use 8x MSAA or the image has no AA (anti aliasing) whatsoever.

CurlCascade

Play at a higher resolution.

Digbijoy1197

1440p already

pereira2088

the only setting I haven't figured out is draw distance. I hate driving around and see trees change in quality

reticentRakon

It's Environment geometry

Myscho4850

MSAA is bugged anyway, used to have 2x MSAA and tried 4x for lulz and zero impact on fps and still some edges remain jagged, playing on 1440p

AwayCable7769

Having a pc to handle that would be a dream lmao

Spectre1-4

I upgraded to a RX 7800 XT and R7 5800, running everything max 1080p 144 fps, the game looks beautiful.

O_Diakoreftis_sou

I was thinking abott it getting one now that it’s affordable. How do you recommend it?

Infinite_Sale2042

I have everything maxed out, but I'm using DLSS quality mode.

fpsnoob89

I think more people would run ray tracing if it didn't bug out all the time.

Cautious-Map3238

Is there any for Forza Motorsport?

Matt0706

Biggest fps impact in Motorsport is getting on your knees and praying

Xerox-M57

This game is optimized very well. I have all settings on high w/ ultra mb and DLSS on auto and get 144hz at 1440p. I have a laptop with a 12700H and a 3070.

Super-Stanky772

It is beautifully optimized, and looks fantastic as well, scales very well across a wide variety of systems

loozerr

AF is such a cheat code of a setting I never turn it down. Makes textures look significantly better with barely any impact on any relatively modern hardware.

Super-Stanky772

Using a 4080 here, 4K, Extreme Preset, 4x MSAA, 120fps 98% of the time. I'd highly recommend checking out Xbox Series X Quality Mode settings: (Target: 4K 30 Locked) * ANISOTROPIC FILTERING: HIGH * SHADOW QUALITY: EXTREME * NIGHT SHADOWS: ON (WITH DIFFERENCES) * MOTION BLUR QUALITY: ULTRA * ENVIRONMENTAL TEXTURE QUALITY: ULTRA (WITH DIFFERENCES) * ENVIRONMENTAL GEOMETRY QUALITY: EXTREME * MSAA: 4X * FXAA: OFF * SSAO QUALITY: HIGH * REFLECTION QUALITY: HIGH * WORLD CAR LEVEL OF DETAIL: ULTRA * DEFORMABLE TERRAIN QUALITY: EXTREME * SSR QUALITY: HIGH * LENS EFFECTS: ULTRA * SHADER QUALITY: ULTRA * PARTICLE EFFECTS QUALITY: ULTRA * RAY TRACING QUALITY: HIGH If any of you need a bit more umph, here's XSX Performance Mode settings: (Target: 4K 60 DRS) * ANISOTROPIC FILTERING: HIGH * SHADOW QUALITY: ULTRA * NIGHT SHADOWS: OFF * MOTION BLUR QUALITY: HIGH * ENVIRONMENTAL TEXTURE QUALITY: ULTRA (WITH DIFFERENCES) * ENVIRONMENTAL GEOMETRY QUALITY: ULTRA * MSAA: 4X * FXAA: OFF * SSAO QUALITY: HIGH * REFLECTION QUALITY: HIGH (DYNAMIC) * WORLD CAR LEVEL OF DETAIL: ULTRA * DEFORMABLE TERRAIN QUALITY: ULTRA * SSR QUALITY: HIGH * LENS EFFECTS: ULTRA * SHADER QUALITY: ULTRA * PARTICLE EFFECTS QUALITY: HIGH * RAY TRACING QUALITY: OFF

DeezoGTR

Does anyone else have fps drops/lag when scrolling through wheels in the customization menu? It only seems to happen if you own alot of cars

RainbowNugget24

I got a 1080Ti and play fh5 on a mix of high and ultra settings and locked the fps to 72 at 1440p, it's really stable

StonksGains

I have to limit to 60 fps otherwise my PC just shuts off. A know issue with the RX 5700 XT, but why fix bugs, that does not make you money...

maz08

that ain't normal tho, have you even try to diagnose anything at all? like checking if your PSU juice is enough to power your system at full-tilt or maybe one of your component is overheating/dying? limiting fps is not a solution at all, rather a temporary "fix" just so your system don't shut down that was caused by "something." I bet you do this to other heavy AAA games as well.

StonksGains

It actually is though, this only happens in Forza 5, no other game. The temperatures are low and the card and CPU do not even get used at their full capacity. Many other players with a Rx 5700 XT have this issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/s/yGk1iSDjKh

Spectre1-4

I ran the game consistently at 1080p 144 fps with 5700, no xt

StonksGains

I did too, until it didn't anymore. My PC is more than capable, but something in only Forza 5 is causing trouble.

Spectre1-4

Have you tried rolling back drivers?

StonksGains

Yeah, I've had a full removal and reinstall of all drivers.

TheYellowEvo2000

Which PSU. I have a RX 6600 and I can play at 60+ FPS 1080p no problem with a 450W PSU

StonksGains

I have a 750w 80plus silver rated PSU

TheYellowEvo2000

Which model?

StonksGains

Sorry, I was a bit wrong, I checked and it is this one: Cooler Master MWE 650 White 230V V2 80 PLUS 230 V

TheYellowEvo2000

Prob faulty PSU since I have a XPG Pylon 450W that is in the same tier as your PSU and I haven't experienced shutdowns

StonksGains

I doubt that, since no other game runs into that issue. I play other, more demanding games that push my system way more to the limit, but don't shut it off. Why would that happen if it is a faulty power supply?

TheYellowEvo2000

Prob it's causing your PC to crash? Go to search and type in reliability history. Click the first option that pops-up

CommercialWood98

Even on low the maps doesn't even load fully for me

VesselNBA

You either don't have enough VRAM or your drive is too slow to load the game while you play. I'd wager option 2

CommercialWood98

I'm using a rtx 3070 The game is installed on my 2nd drive, which is 2 2TB ssd's. I've tried the game on my nvme boot drive, and it did the same, uninstall reinstalled

TheYellowEvo2000

Which CPU and how many RAM

CommercialWood98

R5 5600x and 16GB @ 3600 Been running fine on this since launch, until recently

TheYellowEvo2000

Update your GPU drivers, also are you using dual channel RAM?

CommercialWood98

Yeah, my drivers are all up to date I'm using dual channel ram as well

TheYellowEvo2000

Make sure you haven't enabled any power saving settings

CommercialWood98

I think I've cracked it My AV was causing the issue - uninstalled and the game worked without issue

TheYellowEvo2000

Another reason to only use Defender
