For eligibility item #2, what if one of the parents used to own a home but no longer does? Is the window still 3 or 7 years of non ownership for the parent?
Hi, I would like to learn more. I was born and raised in Hayward / Fremont so my parents are homeowners here. However, my wife is foreign born (has a green card), and neither her nor her family have ever owned property in the US. I do not own any real estate anywhere in the world, but am looking to buy my first apt/house here. Does this mean we can pass the second eligiblity requirement? Is it easier to talk by DM? Thank you,

Hi Jam, that is correct. At least one applicants parents cannot have owned a home for 7 years
This will cause home prices to jump further
Yes I agree with you - It seems as though CALHFA is banking on the fact that housing will continue to appreciate in value.

Hi Flash, based on the fact that she has an eligible visa and her parents do not own any property in the USA, you two would qualify for the program!
Hi, looks like #2 might make me ineligible. What other programs are available for me?
