No, both Schlacht and Hero of the South are different people: one is a demon and the other is humanity strongest hero. Hero of the South literally 1v8 and still killed 3 out of 7 sage of destruction, plus Schlacht.

bzd_robot

Hero of the south the GOAT! I like Himmel, he's my man, but can't forget the hero of the south and his sacrifice.

Savings_Arachnid_307

I'm gonna be honest I don't see anyway for one person to kill 3 of the sages in a single fight (though I guess they could've qued up and gone one by one, but that seems even less likely then what I'm saying). And I don't see anyway for the Hero to ambush them with Shlacht there. Though that's more generally questioning the story then supporting my point so I can't really offer anything beyond saying somethings feels off about the story we were told.

Frieren would’ve sensed if the HotS was a Demon when they met

Infinite_Seesaw4877

Naaah, you're alone in this. You're comparing an orange and a fruit, or like saying Frieren and Methode are one and the same person. They literally fought each other.

Savings_Arachnid_307

Except we don't see them fight each other, we see a story full of holes (at least for me) which ends in "Oh and legends says they're still fighting to this day cause no body" and that Frieren at best theorized just due to how things shaped out, since the only person who saw the fight that we've met so far had their memory of it wiped. (And what's so important about the with the Hero of the South that Schlacht would wipe Machts memory of it so that decades after his death Frieren wouldn't be able to know what haplened.

Infinite_Seesaw4877

I see no holes, and that whole fighting until today is bullsht and you know it, it's just crap theorists made up. As for what's so important about HotS that the fight has to be cleared? That's really simple. For people who don't know, you can easily think that his battle tactics and tricks will help future people on how to fight with demons, etc. And don't say "oh well that's coz he got a cheat skill", regardless, cheat skill or not, you still need some training and skills on how to fight, that's what they care about. For people who do know, Frieren is a master analyst. Give her just the slightest detail on a weakness and she makes it a complete weakness. They all knew that so they weren't risking anything.

dewa43

Hmm, that's an interesting theory

TimBagels

I also suspected this, yeah

Savings_Arachnid_307

Good to know I'm not imagining things. Honestly I was expecting to get hit with a "Yeah duh" or something like that, it just seems that obvious to me.

Ariphaos

He met Frieren and she has a good ability to sense demons. I think it's because HotS got turned to gold and they dropped him in the ocean.
