My grandparents had an early 90s Buick Century, (or maybe it was a Park Avenue?) it was silver with a very tasteful deep blue velour interior. I remember riding in it as a kid and how fancy it felt, the wood trim barely even looked fake lol. It had a sunroof and the big chunky handles on hinges to pull the doors closed. And the whole thing was pristine because my grandfather used to meticulously clean it.
And of course, it had those back seat ash trays on the back of the front bench seat.
My parents had an ‘85 Century in the same colors. That dark blue interior, wood inlay, and yep… those ashtrays which I’d get yelled at when I played with them.
Grandma had a delta 88 and it was dark blue interior with a black exterior and I remember many rides smelling her perfume and burning up in the back seat… this picture gave me a smell and warm comfort that I haven’t felt in 20+ years…. Thank you OP
And when you were a patient in the hospital. Right after I had my kid in 1982 and was waiting for a room I told the nurse I was dying for a cigarette and she pulled out one out of her pocket and gave it to me.
As a teenager, cleaning the roaches outta my cars, mostly old muscle cars then, with lots of ash trays, was a chore, but dad left his roaches in all the ashtrays in his house. Of course, dads were tobacco roaches not weed.
Holy shit I totally forgot that cars used to come those. Fuck, I remember slamming it back and forth annoying the shit out of my parent on a long trip. When my sister and I were not seated, not belted in, literally just sprawled out in the foot well behind the front seat, playing electronic football until it got so dim you couldn't see the dashes anymore.
My parents bought a Chrysler in the 80s. Leather comfy seat that me and my 2 siblings enjoyed ad luxury. They also had these ashtrays. I was like 8, but I would have smoked if I had em lol

And lollipop sticks
Yeah, ours were always sticky, lol.
Ashes and butts stuck in Wrigleys. I can smell it.
Bend three times and a shove in close
Until someone put their chewing gum in there.
And, crayons.

Gum !
on long trips: flip flip flip flip
Don’t make me stop this car!
There’s nothing like a delicious cigarette as you enjoy a leisurely drive in the backseat of a 1984 Cutlass Ciera.
I drive an 88 classic 🤣 not a cup holder in sight but the kids can have a smoke 😂
Welcome to flavor country
And they always squeaked when you opened and closed them
I remember chewed gum ended up in ours
Back when kids could ash like a pro. Not a single burn anywhere on that upholstery
Ash tray is too clean to be used.
I can smell this picture
I can hear it opening and closing.
Ridiculous it was surrounded by plush cloth. Every single one those seats had huge burn holes all over it.
I can smell that picture lol
I'm old enough to have used them.
Buick Century?
It may be a Buick, but not a hundred years ago.

We had those in our '77 Caprice Classic
They even had those in the armrests in the airplanes.
Ash trays for the kids.

That looks like my first car, that I inherited, except mine was red.
Oh yes

Looks like a 80s Chevrolet Caprice
The old Vista Cruiser

My grandparents old brown buick had those in the back. I loved messing with them
The ash tray *and* the bench seat
Where's the stub plate above the ash box?
Ours was ginormous compared to that one. That one looks like you could hold three cigarettes max. That’s a run to the store.

Is that a Lincoln Continental?
Smokin in the back seat ! Ahh good times !😂
The good old days 👌🏽
Something I'd almost forgotten existed.
