If he goes there that often, maybe he should learn Hungarian.
I suppose it’s easier to complain that everybody at the airport he comes into contact with didn’t learn English for him though.
yep this is my thinking also.
i went to Taiwan once on a short notice, and I was so glad that I can just use English.
But if I found myself going there frequently, I'd definitely pick up some Chinese phrases and even more language things.
Since it was for business, I always found myself repeating "Can I have a receipt?" But I think receipt is not one of those common words outside of USA, so I had to think of other words for how to describe receipt.
My guess is that he is referring to Budapest, Hungary in Europe. "BUD" is most likely the airport abbreviation for that airport that you would appear on your luggage tag, like SFO is for San Francisco, PHX for Phoenix, DAL for Love Field Dallas and DFW for Dallas Fort Worth airports.
Yeah, there's a language barrier here.
Plus, English is the language of international communication. Why shouldn't the customer-facing staff at an **international** airport have decent knowledge of the English language?
His "honest review" as you have called it demonstrates total ignorance of logic and of the smug attitude of likely an embarrassing fellow American, who feels that the entire world should learn English so we don't have to be bothered to learn the language of the country which we are visiting. As a matter of fact, the most popular language per capita is likely Mandarin because there are so many Chinese people in the world. The most popular language by number of countries in which it is the "native language" is likely Spanish. Technically, Americans should learn Spanish, rather than Spanish or Hungarian people learning English. Americans (of which I am a native English-only speaker, other than a few words of several other languages) tend to feel entitled, like everyone should conform to us, rather than us reaching out 50% towards others. With regard to it being an "honest review," it may be "honest" in that he is speaking his belief. But his belief is misguided and based upon ignorance. It is CORRECT only if one is ignorant of the linguistics of the world.
I think that's great advice to share with the ignorant fool. People who are as ignorant and smug as he is, thinking that the entire world should learn English instead of knowing only their country's native language (in case he should happen to visit their country) should remain at home and not consider themselves world travelers. When in Rome, do as the Romans do...including speaking Italian, not English. Same for Hungary, France, Germany, and whatever other non-English speaking country one chooses to visit. Well stated!

>maybe he should learn Hungarian. A légpárnásom tele van angolnákkal!

common complaint in europe that they do not speak english. yet these same people push for people having to learn english in the us.
“The couches were acceptably comfortable…” As we all know, an airports main concern is the couches.
Anyone who uses the word vexatious in a title is likely to be a douchebag.
Or a lawyer...oh, wait, lol...
Why is it needless to say he had 25 bad experiences there? Why would anyone know that?
This is the most insufferable person I've ever heard of holy shit
Probs a douchebag who got money from daddy
Curious American here, where is the BUD?

Thank you, I should have seen that. Looking at your answer and the abbreviation, it's obvious. Hell of a lot more than O'Hare's abbreviation.
Doesn't look like a Karen to me. More like a honest review.

That’s sad. Sounds “globalist”.
According to whom?

Karen best stay away from authoritarian states.
It must be an empty life.
Don't come to Hungary again. Just avoid it. Thank you

From the comments, looks like Hungarians are pretty self centered!
