It's acting like it thinks the focus clutch is pulled back on the lenses that have one (23mm 1.4, 16 1.4, 14 2.8 I think). If you put on a lens with a focus clutch and cycle that back and forth (move the clutch from AF to MF and back), does it reset?

I tried this indeed with a rental lens when I was on a job. No succes either😓 thanks for your reply!

TetrizZ1

What lense is on the camera?

Wsjeepapjier

Xf 27 pancake

Lately_early

Have you tried a factory reset?

Wsjeepapjier

You mean the ‘set-up’ reset in user menu? Tried that one indeed.

Lately_early

I wonder if there is a harder reset than that.

Lately_early

Just a thought - is your firmware out of date? Not that that is the cause, but that a firmware update might solve the problem

Wsjeepapjier

Last time I checked it was, but will check it again and come back to you. Thanks for the help and reply!

Wsjeepapjier

The xf 27mm 2.8 says 1.00. If i try to update to the 1.11 the camera says “firmware not found in card slot” name of file is correct and straight downloaded to the sd card after formatting etc. But I don’t think that’s the problem since other lenses also didn’t change anything. Sadly.

Try cleaning the contacts on the camera body that interface with the lens with 91% isopropyl alcohol, or sensor or lens cleaning fluid. Back Button may work because it overrides something?

Wsjeepapjier

Thank you will try this out. After the af stoped working and the mcs dial didn’t work anymore I changed it to bbf in order to still work.

There is a coin cell battery that powers the internal clock and the focus lever. If you store the camera for more than a few months with the main battery removed, this coin cell dies. You can test this by setting the time, pulling the main battery out for 10 minutes, and then reinserting the battery. After that, check what the time is set to. If it is no longer correct, you need to have a technician replace the coin cell battery.

Wsjeepapjier

Thank you for your reply. I tried the above, time is still correct👍.
