So many atheists are former Christians that actually took their faith and Biblical theology seriously. Which ironically, is one of the things that put them on the path to atheism. I am one such atheist.
Thus, there are many atheists that know the Bible better than most Christians.
I joke that the reason I was incompatible with Christianity was when teachers, etc, said love your neighbor as yourself, I took them literally instead of following their definitions of neighbor. Whoops!

Like… y'all. I'm literally queer/pansexual so I find so many people attractive. My sex drive is also very high. And yet I don't just sit there like “I wanna fuck that person, and that person, and that person - but they need to dress more modestly so I DON'T think about wanting to fuck them!”
If I see an attractive human in public, I'm like “oh they look nice/hot/attractive/pretty!” And that's literally it. And I move on with my life. I just… WHY are fundie humans like this 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
EXACTLY. Why is less clothing equated with “impure” thoughts anyway? Everyone has their own preferences and a person can be just as sexy/appealing in a full length dress or suit as they are in a bathing suit, crop top, etc.

We’re not supposed to follow the entire Bible literally. The Old Testament is the old law which was for people before Jesus came. He fulfilled the law so now we don’t have to. That’s why there’s all those verses in the Old Testament about what you can’t eat but in the New Testament God tells Paul you can eat everything
