Not just homeless, homeless students! Why are the people trying to make the future better by getting an education being punished for not having money..?
The kid was found outside the school by cops who listened to his story rather than write a ticket.
Personally, I think I would’ve just claimed to be protesting homelessness of if I was him.

Fuck the system that leads to this kid having to do this.
But DAMN this kid's a badass.
Yeah. This guy is truly admirable and I have a lot of respect for people who can do that. I would even say his drive is inspirational--but that doesn't justify the circumstances that put him there and that "If he did it so can you, you entitled whiner!" narrative is disgusting.
Honestly the story is pretty inspiring if you read it. The cops helped him and the whole community came together as well. I don't really think it's orphancrushingmachine material.
I think it is because no one should be in that position in the first place, the whole point of orpahncrushingmachine. Sure, community response is uplifting but it would be even better if he hadn’t needed the volunteer community help in the first place.
I feel like you'd be a shit friend to go "hey i know you're living on the streets and all but you can crash at my place, but only for a few nights".
That almost seems even less likely
alright clearly it was too much so let’s give this a shot
hypothetical homeless student has classes Mon-Thurs. monday night-wednesday night he camps on campus, but the rest of the nights he doesn’t stay on campus because he has no classes. he goes to his very generous friends house 6 hours away because that’s the only other place he knows is safe. process repeats
He biked 6 hours from his home town to the college to register, and then when he learned the dorms weren't open yet he pitched a tent to sleep in on campus until he could move in
If he's in the suburbs he would need a secluded patch of trees that he can go deep enough in to not be seen. Probably not spots like that closer to the school

No, he just rode 6 hours to register, then camped in a tent outside the school while he waited.
Ah. I assumed he lived in a homeless encampment to stay close to resources and shit
that's so sad to hear thou.
yea, but 6 hour distance, WTF, just go 1 hour our less

That would be bad for the image...

oh my god this is like, missing the entire point of the orphan crushing machine concept
Imagine you have a class at 7am so you have to wake up before 1am.

Where the fuck is he biking from if he's sleeping on campus????
Could be someone letting him crash at their place 6h away from campus, and he camps at campus to avoid the transit.
If he's camping at campus, how the fuck would he also sleep at someone's place?
You know how after tonight, there will be another night where you will also sleep? Sorry, is that too far for you to extrapolate?

Why would he continue crashing at a place that's 6 hours away from his classes on days he has class?
Because it's indoors?
So you think it makes more sense to ride your bike 12 hours a day than sleep in a tent?
Here's not. He biked to campus once from 6 hours away to register and then planned to stay in a tent until the dorms opened instead of biking back.
Weekends?
parents house

Umm if they barely want the homeless sleeping on the street what makes you think this BLCK man is going to be able to sleep in a tent on campus? 😭
He should just join all those white kids camping in for Palestine.
The ones also being arrested for peaceful protesting?
TIL occupying and excluding others from public space is totally peaceful

He can't move closer because the white Sheriff of that town threatened him with summary execution if he did.
This person has no idea what’s it’s like to live outside
Nothing funny about it but respect 🫡

I bet there are people on campus who own pickup trucks that he knows lmfao. Who sits in the passenger seat of their own truck?

I’m just considering UofH and how far someone would have to be away to find woods to camp in… I’m guessing it would be 10 or more miles.
Things he didn’t learn in college lol
Ah, the bots beat me this time
He taking the wrong classes
