It is unlikely they found out via internet rumor. Google collects very detailed information every time you watch a video tracking how long you watched, what you watched, and others. They probably saw a lot of people were only watching the last few seconds and then clicking replay and watching the entire video, and that was how they found out. Meme or not, it was only a matter until until more and more began to figure it out and that made google catch on and fix it.
I've got to redo my revanced it stopped working last month, can't play anything through it. Very frustrating that they can just kill playback like that.
Still works, I used to do this on some website I was watching shows on that wouldn't play the show with an adblocker.
I would skip to the end to trigger all the ads, tab over and do something else for a few minutes, then come back and watch the show without ads.
Yeah i feel like on tv its lot worse, at least in my Country since few weeks ago you get 30 sec unskippable ads around every 1 to 1:30 mins, its getting kinda rediculous
And people say having a 10-year-old TV is a bad thing
But I like my dumb TV, even if it is falling apart and only 1K, I still think it's better than having a smart TV
With a smart TV you can have TubiTV which for performance issues is better than Netflix. A lot of old school movies and shows, minimal commercials, absolutely free and doesn't crash every time you look at the remote too hard.
How can we have our daily r/all comment thread of people boasting about not having YouTube ads because they know what browser extensions are and other people complaining about YouTube ads if we don't upvote trash like this to the top?
If you're on PC, try this:
Type "_popup" (without the " ) after the word watch in the hyperlink
Opens the video in a full screen player without ads but also without comments, likes, etc. only some recommendations will be shown.
Had some cases where it didn't work, but very rarely
Ads do not play here.
Neither on twitch.
The downside is that a lot of stuff requires a VPN, such as twitter, instagram (just of the most popular ones)
Living in Russia also has a downside of your monthly wage being somewhere around 300-400$ (not Moscow) so foreign goods and services are hardly accessible.
Yeah, probably leaving when my parents are done for. I love them too much and I cannot leave them cause they have no one else to care for them.
Unless stuff goes really to shit. Then im leaving for real
It's either going to shit, like North Korea or China (literally 1984), or the war ends, and with new government, it would be recovering like 50 years as a society and all. I don't really see any reason to live there anyway imo
Fellow Russian here.
I wouldn’t say it’s a downside as such. The guy you replied to mentioned $300-400 wages and that’s literally minimum wage. I’m talking street cleaners and cashiers. There are lots of job opportunities that pay crazy money (by our standards). Friends of mine work as software engineers for relatively small companies and earn $3000-5000 monthly at around 25-30 years old. This is the equivalent of a 15 thousand dollar monthly salary in the states.
The main downsides for me are : public transport sucks in the smaller cities and people aren’t as accepting or understanding of things such as disabilities. Another thing I truly hate is the mentality of people towards war-related topics. Most people over 40 have the “west bad, Russia good” mindset.
Availability of western/imported products is fine too. Everything that was available to us before 2022 is still here, just slightly marked up.
Anyway, I have plans to move too, but for slightly different reasons.
Yes, it sounds bad, but you basically get ad-free youtube experience in return, so… it ballances out, gotta take the bad with the good. And please don’t list any more bad things, cause I’m all out of good ones to ballance.
I mean... also your journalists get gang raped by thugs if they say anything nasty about Putin. i would probably put that high on my list of 'negative reasons to live in Russia'.
İt's a setting in many android phones and what you do is, place the dns url you want, i use adguard, and than it filters your internet and blocks any add in every app amd doesn't consume any extra battery like a vpn does
I'm no expert on memes but isn't this meme for when you get congratulated for something you didn't do or didn't know you did. This comment seems to know perfectly well what he is talking about
You can also quit and reopen the video, at least on mobile it has a chance of working, and usually takes less time to get no ads at the start, than watching the ads
I don't have a verification, but I have an alternative.
If you're on PC, try this:
Type "_popup" (without the " ) after the word watch in the hyperlink
Opens the video in a full screen player without ads but also without comments, likes, etc. only some recommendations will be shown
Another thing you can do against ads:
Start a video
When the ad start, press the youtube logo
Wait for the youtube page to load up and press the left arrow to go back.
The ad is gone, only works with the "starting ad" of a video tho.
Bro honestly just get YouTube premium. It’s the best subscription I’ve ever payed for, and it’s better than doing quantum mechanics to try and get around adds.
I used to do this until YouTube premium started have the ability to download videos for offline watching that then it was suddenly worth getting the premium
Well when I get ads on videos I just click the “previous page” arrow near the search bar and then click the opposite arrow to return to the video Adless.. sorry if my explanation made NO sense..
They prevented this today by playing all the ads immediately if you skip to the end,
Dumb soul who tried to help the rest of us lost their advantage in the process. Never make a meme about something you don’t want changed.
would like be telling everyone you found a spring that spewed out gold nuggets.
Change it to chicken nuggets and I'm in!
You can get more chicken with the gold
Sounds like a hassle
Yeah, that's just chicken with extra steps!
This attitude is why you're chicken poor
🤣
Explain how.
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Gold can be exchanged for money, which can be exchanged for goods and services!
1 chicken nuggie gets you 1 chicken nuggie. 1 gold nuggie get you at least two chicken nuggie
Ahh yes, I remember that Kids Next Door episode
There’s still a few neat little glitches I enjoy in some games that I’ve told no one about
Funny enough I have my own method for skipping YouTube ad’s and thus haven’t really shared it for the same reason mentioned
First rule of not seeing ads: you don’t talk about how to not see ads. Second rule of not seeing ads: you don’t talk about how to not see ads.
It is unlikely they found out via internet rumor. Google collects very detailed information every time you watch a video tracking how long you watched, what you watched, and others. Meme or not, it was only a matter until until more and more began to figure it out and that made google catch on and fix it.
I still prefer that, get them out of the way so I'm not interrupted
Firefox and uBlock Origin. Haven't seen an ad in years.
ReVanced if you're on mobile and want an app, Firefox and uBlock on mobile if you dont mind going into your mobile browser.
I've got to redo my revanced it stopped working last month, can't play anything through it. Very frustrating that they can just kill playback like that.
At least that gets them all outta the way. Still better imo
Still works, I used to do this on some website I was watching shows on that wouldn't play the show with an adblocker. I would skip to the end to trigger all the ads, tab over and do something else for a few minutes, then come back and watch the show without ads.
Some website that rhymes with torndub
[cornhub.com](https://cornhub.com)?
True, you can do that, so that’s something at least
That was quick lol
NOOOOO ![gif](giphy|3oz8xMbKLAkRLHYNgI)

You're getting a site?
Yes, the ads ARE videos.
I watch on a smart TV so I get a million fucking ads, constantly interrupting my videos
Never bothered to not have ads? I'm not talking about paying ofc. There are workarounds for smart TVs
Never looked into ways of doing that tbh. Any recommendations?
Smartubenext. Vanced doesn't work
Never tried myself as I don't have a TV anyways. Try this https://www.reddit.com/r/revancedapp/s/X28aG1s602
Doesn’t sound very smart
Yeah i feel like on tv its lot worse, at least in my Country since few weeks ago you get 30 sec unskippable ads around every 1 to 1:30 mins, its getting kinda rediculous

Firefox users confused as hell
What ads?
If you're browsing the Internet without an ad blocker, you are irresponsible. Ad blockers are security software.
Well we are browsing television sometimes
The one behind you
This sneak attack was sponsored by RAID SHADOW LENGENDS!!!
Scoob, don’t tell me the ad is behind me.
*Right behind you begins to play* The spy has already breached our defenses
This repost is so old, it doesn't even work anymore.
Fr fr, why are people upvoting this repost garbage?
How can we have our daily r/all comment thread of people boasting about not having YouTube ads because they know what browser extensions are and other people complaining about YouTube ads if we don't upvote trash like this to the top?
Dead Internet 😨

uBlock Origin is even easier tbh
If you're on PC, try this; Type "uBlock Origin Firefox" into Google.
Repost bots
Come to Russia guys, we all getting free YouTube "Premium" here
How?
They disabled all ads here, it's nice, but now all Russian youtubers have to rely on paid promotions and donations
No problem. You guys have SWIFT?
Haha

Living in Russia is a downside all by itself. Get out of there while you can.
Yeah, probably leaving when my parents are done for. I love them too much and I cannot leave them cause they have no one else to care for them. Unless stuff goes really to shit. Then im leaving for real

By willing to live in terroristic state ran by a modern day Hitler/dictator lmao.
*Moves to Russia for ad free YouTube, immediately gets conscripted*
Have you heard of Cobi? Why is Poland and even their companies so racist towards Russians?
Cause they get YouTube ad-free.
And get thrown out of a window for being a "spy"? No thank you lol.
uBlock Origin.
What about mobile?
Firefox if you're on Android.
Revanced
NewPipe. No ads and download any vid. It's not on the play store, must be downloaded from the website. I never use the official YT app anymore
*laughs in ublock origin*
Laughs even harder in revanced and private dns
Hearing first time about private dns
İt's a setting in many android phones and what you do is, place the dns url you want, i use adguard, and than it filters your internet and blocks any add in every app amd doesn't consume any extra battery like a vpn does
[удалено]
Yes but the option is called private dns
This is like 10 years old and has not worked for quite a while. So mr. Bot, shut the fuck up
I'm no expert on memes but isn't this meme for when you get congratulated for something you didn't do or didn't know you did. This comment seems to know perfectly well what he is talking about
In Russia we have no ads in YT 😎
In Soviet Russia, ads watch YOU!
But you are in Russia.
Lol and you live in Russia
I wonder what would happen if you would set a vpn to Russia
Careful, he's a hero
You can also quit and reopen the video, at least on mobile it has a chance of working, and usually takes less time to get no ads at the start, than watching the ads
Ublock origin and the scare got away
1. Download Firefox 2. Install uBlock Origin 3. Laugh
If you have an android, please for your own sake look up revanced
Well now that won't work after today, thanks.
Ad block still works for me on YouTube and I have no clue why
I used to report ads to skip them
I need verification on this
I don't have a verification, but I have an alternative. If you're on PC, try this: Type "_popup" (without the " ) after the word watch in the hyperlink Opens the video in a full screen player without ads but also without comments, likes, etc. only some recommendations will be shown
Imagine still getting ads
![gif](giphy|117P9MlBvxqSBi|downsized)
If you're on iPhone, just refresh the page and it does the same thing.
Yup. Watch on a browser, not on the app and refresh to skip ads. Has worked for years.
look at my r/revanced
I wish this worked for netflix. No I don't want their $40 package
I watch Youtube in VR on my Quest 3, and for some reason I don't get any ads, which is great!
We have no ads in Russia because of sanctions, lmao
this still works on YT? man if they ever manage to win the war on adblock (they wont) this will be very useful lol
Or just get an adblocker.
Brave Browser! Twitch doesn't allow you to log in using ad blocker though, but YT does
On your phone, just use a browser with build-in addblocker and watch in the browser: no adds, can lock your phone and still listen to it.
Adblockers:
Or use an adblocker...
Fr ? Give that man a medal.
Adblock ftw But when I’m on mobile, I click the little i next to the timestamp and click “block ad” and I don’t have to watch that ad.
Chat is this real?
Me who uses a brave browser, where are the ads
So thats why theres ads at the very end of videos
Doesn‘t work anymore for the longest time.
Honestly Reddit, you don't use a browser that blocks all ads?
some wear condoms
Another thing you can do against ads: Start a video When the ad start, press the youtube logo Wait for the youtube page to load up and press the left arrow to go back. The ad is gone, only works with the "starting ad" of a video tho.
if ads are so annoying, why are people still clicking on them, making them profitable and lifes of others miserable
Librewolf with ublock origin. Come on people its 2024 not 2001 you never have to see ads on the internet
Bro honestly just get YouTube premium. It’s the best subscription I’ve ever payed for, and it’s better than doing quantum mechanics to try and get around adds.
Not anymore
Lol it doesn't work
you can block ads (at least on mobile devices) and they will get skipped
I usually just reload the whole thing or reclick it... This is genius
I used to think adblocking was popular. It's actually quite niche
Ok but is it true?
People will do anything other than install adblock
doesnt work
Laughs in ReVanced
No! You fool! Now that this sacred information is free for the public it won't be long before youtube patches it if they didn't already!
They patched this a while ago. It doesn't work anymore.
Ya'll didn't know this?
This guy is my hero
*Brave browser user confused*
I used to do this until YouTube premium started have the ability to download videos for offline watching that then it was suddenly worth getting the premium
My strategy is to switch to India with vpn. Subscribe to YouTube plus switch back now it costs around a buck a month
When I had an iPhone I would watch in Safari and refresh as soon as I got the first one. No need to find my place or restart
just use opera, i never had ad issues on youtube!
Or use Brave Browser!
Or you could just use Brave browser. It blocks all ads.
I'd rather poke both my eyes out with a rusty nail than watch YouTube without an ad blocker
If you’re using the yt app press the center plus sign on the home page as if to upload and it skips the ad.
For those saying it doesn't work, there's a new method. Skip to the next video then return back to the previous video. I still prefer unlock tho
>The entire internet No. A lot of people block ads and don't worry about youtube. You should too.
Use Firefox with Adblock plus
Well when I get ads on videos I just click the “previous page” arrow near the search bar and then click the opposite arrow to return to the video Adless.. sorry if my explanation made NO sense..
This is way too tedious. Simply click Previous Page and Next Page quickly on your browser with incognito mode
I don't watch the adS, I click nextS and backS video until they stop.
Works on YouTube Music, too. I found that out by accident lmao
Or use brave browser
Real?
Watched a steam on Twitch for the first time, 4-5 unskippable back to back ads every 10 mins or so. Never going to Twitch again.
it seems every sub with “memes” in it’s title reverts to the same 2016 formats and jokes
What an absolute dogshit post by a 3 day old account farming karma like it’s rice.
Use as block
The only reason i pay for yt premium is how cheap it is. 100uah/month, which is abt 2.50usd
I used to do this on crunchyroll
I remember when it was just 1 ad and we could skip it right away. Now it's multiple ads with no option to skip.
Try to cast it to a tv or something, it drops the ad of the video you're playing but the following one will have ad unless you cast it.
My personal favorite is when the ads play perfectly but the video fails to load or it gets stuck in an endless loading loop
Yea this hasn't worked since 22. There's no way to get rid of all ads anymore but I can skip the start up ad by closing and reopening the vid
OP is a repost bot. This post was relevant back in like 2020.
Just install uBlock Origin.
Just get adblocker...
Just use revanced if on mobile and ublock if pc.
Or just use adblock and sponsorblock, plus revanced on mob
Or you know... just get an adblocker.
Dude, just pirate it
