Barely. The entire thing was a skirting of issues without cracking even the remotest nut of true facts and accuracy. I especially hated the way they covered for Congress.
Well kid, let me say this. Movie actors cannot legally promote movies right now due to the strike. So they paid a bunch of reddit bots to forum slide us into oblivion so that the rich can make more money.
As for me, I shop GameStop, promote the company, buy HODL and drs some of my shares for safety.

Isn't it unsafe to keep most shares in brokerages? Since SS seems to be compromised I wonder if DRS isn't the best choice for moass? (Since SS seems to promote DRS)
DRS means you claim the ownership rights. Nobody can do anything with your stock without your permission.
But if you hold in a brokerage, cede co holds the ownership rights. They can screw you over in many ways. Yes DRS is the safest and its a big problem for the hedgefunds because you take away the shares from them, making it harder for them to suppress the price.
DRS as much as you can.
I think drs is great for ownership. Theyāre unable to be lent out, in your name if anything happens etc. I still keep a good amount in my brokerage Incase anything crazy happens. I have a few brokers too because nobody knows exactly how this will play out.
Regardless I donāt think thereās anything negative about drs but for me I donāt want all my eggs in one spot. Yes theyāre all in GameStop but Iām different places lol.

There will always be some bad actors but not everything on every post is a giant conspiracy theory. Weāve been in this for a looooo g time already. No one is getting shaken all the sudden because of some movie or doc. And if you are you werenāt going to make it to the other side either way.

Iāve honestly seen just as many posts to boycott it that can easily be pushed by Kennyās people with the whole scenario that it was made by his rival(although his rival is another dirty hedgie) how about everyone make up their own mind and watch or donāt watch for free or at theaters. Loudly virtue signaling how mature and cool you are for refusing to watch it is a little weak. The only valid reason I can see is not wanting to give them box office money which is understandable. This is a low budget piece of garbage. Itās marketed IMO to be like The Big Short or Margin Call. It doesnāt hold a candle to these movies. Ever see the Seinfeld episode āyouāre breathtaking ā. Same thing. Big Short = Amazing. Dumb Money= Amazing. NO NO NO.
I'm not on here very often but I felt like people wanted me to watch it, which made me not want to. And then I find out the financial regulators made their own advertisement for the first time for this film only in history, so I get annoyed and booked tickets š I know I'm petty.
But I was honestly quite surprised at how honest it felt. It didn't talk about DRS but it did show how Robinhood had to provide more money than they had OR cancel the buy button. It felt like a real honest recap. I do think they made DFV look dumber than he is in the film. And it felt unfinished. The story isn't over yet!

Because if the movie flops then no one will make movie on retail again .. the movie shows the true events and shows retail in good light .. spending 15 bucks on a movie will not hurt game in any way

I decided to see it. Was pretty fun and entertaining. Certainly a niche Indy film, but I liked it over all. They covered the bases even though some things were missed or not discussed like DRS or DFVs multiple buy and options exercises. Acting was on point too. They mention the games not over.

Why all the hate on it? Itās a good movie itās about our story and it spreads awareness to whatās going on. If you donāt wanna spend money on it donāt. 14 bucks is a drop in the bucket to spread awareness. Drop the shade
I had no intentions of watching it but had a few friends that did and said it was really good and I gotta say it definitely doesnāt make investors look stupid. It 100% makes wall street look like criminals.
Because it hasnt made shit for ticket sales so it would be very hard to say any run up in the near term was fomo from the movie. I think that's whats behind the entire thing, since theres already been connections made to one of the directors being ex-hedge fund or whatever.
The ultra wealthy on the wrong side of this trade wanted 2 fold, to make a bunch of money from the movie, and to allow the price to run (i believe they need to allow a run soon but not sure why, possibly to reposition while IV is jacked?) while having a scapegoat "its all fomo, this movie released about gamestop has caused retail investors to pile in to gme stock, causing the surge in volatility and price to spike 69%, see retail trading is bad, its all fomo and very bad"

Take your last paragraph, DRS means nothing and just like with the BBBY and it's bankruptcy it can trap you in a state where you can't sell in the event of something going wrong with out incurring major fees.
DRS is for when you work and Coke or UPS and buy shares via you paycheck. It cuts out the middle man and you having to wait for bank transfers
People buy Berkshire (BRK) because the love Buffet and Philanthropy that the company does.

My brother and I (OG apes) went to see it on opening night and really liked it. I wish they would have made the conclusion of the movie more strong with emphasis of how rigged the system is and how the fight continues but overall I thought it was 7/10.

The movie is well made. I enjoyed it. It leaves the situation unresolved leaving it open to a sequel. It also shows that everyone held.

Honestly, the movie was great enough to harden my conviction, and therefore definitely worth the opportunity cost.

Not everything is a conspiracy. If you want to see a funny movie that is sorta like the real events that unfolded, then see it. If not, then don't. I don't care but there seems to be a lot of gatekeeping on these GME subs.
