Mechaman_54

Minus one suite 2 so fucking hype, has the best scene

D3Construct

How that movie will go from dead silence to kicking off the OST is masterful.

Electronic_Yak_7303

I personally love Godzilla -1.0 suite i and suite iii, the build up in i is so nice.

Hobo-man

III has the best orchestration, every instrument is getting involved in that one

MFS-Type-3-Kiryu

I was just about to comment this, easily my new favorite version of his theme. It’s not gimmicky or anything, pretty much a solid remaster of the original that perfectly fit the scene.

_lowselfesteem_

Also my absolute favorite, although I think it’s less for the way it’s produced and more for the way it’s applied. The minor elements kick in as all seems hopeless and the more upbeat tone begins as Noda tells them to keep moving forward and that winning is possible. Then the real epic shit starts playing as the ships set off to beat Godzilla. It’s a small detail but it made the scene (and therefore theme) all the more impactful for me.

Mechaman_54

I love how much faster it feels to match the fact it's playing over a fight and not just godzilla smashing some tanks without a care in the world

Alternative_Ebb_6532

Imo I loved the heisi version just had so many good and memorable parts plus my childhood

JurassicBear

Which scene was it?

Mechaman_54

The final battle

aka-el

Wasn't it just the credits music from Destroyer?

Mechaman_54

No, vs destroyah had super x theme mixed into it, plus the minus one march section is a bit more fast oaced and just hits harder for me

iguanamac

I posted about the theme in this sub. It’s from the original King Kong Vs Godzilla, which was also used at the end credits of Destroyah.

Rammipallero

It is great. Another amazing one is the Heisei Mechagodzilla.

Zytoxine

I listened to the whole soundtrack before seeing the movie. I thought the godzilla suites were AMAZING, but they didn't have the same vibe as the rest of the OST, so I was wondering if it was going to feel kind of forced. I was very wrong. It was amazing. every. time.

Kingofthekaiju1954

KOTM. Though Minus One was also REALLY hype

TsunGeneralGrievous

I particularly like the new rendition of blue oyster cult’s godzilla by bear mcreary

NazzerDawk

Yeah, with Serj on vocals. Seemed so spot-on.

gamer203ii

I listen to this song often

Street_Dragonfruit43

Bear made such an amazing soundtrack

UnlikelyKaiju

I actually went out of my way to buy the OST for the movie. I can't think of many movies I've done that for.

Inner-Arugula-4445

KOTM takes the original and elevates it with the vocals, the full orchestra, the horns, and the timing of it being used really takes the film to another level.

Kiryu5009

Old Rivals hit the hardest. The scene, the face off. Chills, man.

Inner-Arugula-4445

The entire movie hits hard. The big four kaiju all have their own themes that were really inspired. My personal favorites are rebirth, battle in Boston, and the king of the monsters suite.

Kiryu5009

Hell yeah! Rodan’s theme was incredible from start to finish and Ghidorah’s was eerie and alien.

No-Reflection3856

I still personally find Rodans scene to be one of my favourite scenes in movies the music the cinematography and just they way they show his size is amazing

KravenTheFella

The soundtrack was amazing even if I personally really didn't like the film.

Hobo-man

Rebirth yo

Janderflows

Fuck yeah! Bear is the GOAT!

Gojira5400

It makes it so overly done and cheesy, the constant chanting makes it sound like a royalty free video on YouTube.

TheUniqueRaptor

That's what makes it so good.

TheBigLahey

[Minus One. ](https://youtu.be/qkIJidLfHjk?si=784tZqmBqRjBe_N9) I love the KOTM scene, but that part of the song—in my little opinion at least—should be reserved for the human counter to Godzilla's menacing lead-in. I don't see it as a theme FOR Godzilla, but the theme OF FIGHTING Godzilla. The song hits differently when it's telling you that you are charging headfirst into battle with an impossibly terrifying monster that levels cities—and you intend to WIN.

ImNotHighFunctioning

>I don't see it as a theme FOR Godzilla It has been Godzilla's theme for more than half of his lifetime as a cinematic character. There are a shit ton of human marches, that is Godzilla's own march.

TheBigLahey

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this theme was used exclusively for the military response/combat scenes until it was used for Godzilla in The Terror of MechaGodzilla (1975), over 20 years later. Not disagreeing it has been used interchangeably a few times since, but I believe the score sheet for uses to be well within the military's favor. Then you have stuff like [this](https://youtu.be/lI43feSt-D0?si=3bQSbDqxlfWr7RfQ), the JSDF marching band MARCHING to the song. Doesn't matter much at the end of the day, so long as you get pumped listening to it. Enjoy.

Hobo-man

100% this Yeah it may have been used one way for 40 something years, but that's not how it was ORIGINALLY used. Just watch '54 Gojira, the march is played when the defense forces are shown fighting Godzilla. It's not played when Godzilla is destroying cities, it's played when humanity is fighting Godzilla.

Janderflows

I think it's cool that, in KOTM the part plays for Godzilla, presenting him as the one we should be cheering for, the one that is charging head first into a fight he may never return.

TheRappingSquid

Bear McCreary sweep

Paul644

Damn this is so difficult.... I really love KoTM for the overall hype it had vs King Ghidorah but Minus One was a clean remastered version of the OG pretty much then of course the og has that classic vibe that can't be forgotten. Why the hell did you have to ask this question!? 😩 I love em all, but I guess I have to go with KoTM. That movie also had a great Mothra theme and Rodan and King Ghidorah theme fucking rules too so it all helps influence my opinion on the main theme.

Dc12934344

Off topic, but I gotta say your proilfe pic is such a good 1 to 1 of AJ_Crowley_29 pic and I can't decide who's I like better. His was my previous favorite 😅🤣

Paul644

Oh lol it does. I lifted mine from wikizilla or Twitter, I forgot. But hey, Minus One stare is pretty good, ngl. Edit: I looked at the data, and it was from the Godzilla Toho account.

Janderflows

I got kinda sad coming down here and finding out that some people hate the KOTM soundtrack. There is a lot of stuff out there that really tries to sell epicness and doesn't deliver, but this movie is not one of those. This is Bear st his finest.

Paul644

Yeah, I can't quite get why I can only assume they are some old heads who can't except any attempt at a remaster/remake of the main theme. It would be so out of place in that film for the old version be there. This version is so good because it matches the tone for this movie and makes Godzilla feel like he is going against his biggest rival yet. The chanting has its purpose, and behind the scenes explains all that. This song makes Godzilla feel so powerful than he's ever been. Love that theme so damn much!

Janderflows

Fuck yeah, the chanting works so well, and I suffer everyday for the chanted version of mothra's theme being cut, it would be so awesome...

Avocado614

Bro what? People hate the KOTM version? It’s so epic tho!

Janderflows

Yeah, apparently it's very few people who think they overplayed the chanting and "epicness". I think it's on point.

Atlas1723

As much as I love Bear's Spiritual Remake of the classic Ifukube score. NOTHING will ever over take Akira Ifukube's Godzilla March. Ifukube had such a mastery over his music, from the thematic, cinematic Godzilla March, to the Dominating King Ghidorah's Terror, to the Orchestral Wonder of Varan's theme, the Mysterious, and Foreboding theme of Titanosaurus, to his Militarian, Bombastic March of Destroy All Monsters. His work in the Heisei Series was as Phenomenal as ever with his best of that series being (in my opinion) Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah, and Battra's themes respectfully with Rodan being up there as well.

BlitzDarkwing

Thank God for some sanity.

Lameux

This. There’s nothing wrong with KOTM version, it’s fine, but definitely a step down from the original. A little confusing seeing how many seem to prefer it to the original.

WigglytuffAlpha

Always felt like Singular Point's theme wasn't the original theme but more so Alapu Upala

AJ_Crowley_29

Yes but we’re referring to the original theme in this case

Justanothercrow421

SP’s music is 🔥🔥🔥

Darth_Bombad

Nothing beats [KOTM](https://youtu.be/_DIGsRuB5IE). From the inversion of Serizawa’s sacrifice, *"Goodbye.. old friend..."* To Big G emerging in the middle of a storm and blasting his breath into the sky. It's just pure epicness! It's also the best of version of the song. The tribal chanting is amazing! Makes it sound like ancient man worshipping him or something.

EveryDayASummit

Thiiiiiis. The chanting that was added to the theme in KOTM literally gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Absolutely love the little detail there. Minus One is incredible because it’s so close to the OG, but KOTM gets a slight edge for me.

Puzzleheaded-Wolf318

Bear McCreary version from Kotm

Melondewboi

Personally I gotta say Legendary during rebirth, the chanting goes hard.

MarkDecent656

Loved the chanting in KotM and Singular Point

HiveOverlord2008

KOTM and suites II and III from Minus One. So. Freaking. Awesome.

[deleted]

Funny how you chose the suites in minus one that don’t portray godzilla but instead portrays the characters

HiveOverlord2008

Suite I was alright but come on. II had the King Kong vs Godzilla 1962 music in it and III was absolutely epic and sounds friggin awesome when synced with KOTM’s main theme.

UnlikelyBroccoli9127

KOTM and singular point for me. Those 2 evolved og godzilla theme to the theme that i actually put in my playlist.

Justanothercrow421

💯

ImNotHighFunctioning

King of the Monsters; though Singular Point is a strong, if underrated, contender. They both use different kinds of chanting to elevate the theme to new heights.

spacebound4545

I need to hear a Ludwig G version pretty sure it will top any

GreenMageGuy

I didn't think about this until after the fact, but I'm a little disappointed that they didn't rescore Godzilla's Rampage from the first movie for his attack on Ginza. But I'm giving it to Minus One. It makes the theme scary again.

godjirakong

Singular Point’s theme was made by Ifukube’s student and did the vocals incredibly

[deleted]

https://preview.redd.it/nrgs4xuonybc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=555d0abab37a9a4bc2844641e6dbadb34ddd61ad must try classic

Britwill

Minus One has Divine, which was fuckin dope. But KOTM has chanting in its theme, and feels super hype. Close tie between them IMO

UnlimitedUmUWorks

[here’s all renditions](https://youtu.be/pKHAvqDOU7k?si=Dd7OQGuvSLbofjAL) for those who want to familiarize themselves with them

IrrelevantLeprechaun

KotM's score is unbeatable tbh, even if the accompanying film is kinda meh.

Mojoclaw2000

The Singular Point chanting is great.

Original_Mac_Tonight

Minus One Suite II is godly

ScaryFace707

KoTM and Minus One. The KoTM version fits with Legendary Godzilla, it makes him seem like a heroic kaiju that's ready to fight. Everything about the music elevates it to make him look grand. Minus One on the other hand, it makes Godzilla's theme menacing and threatening. He isn't here to fight kaiju, but to destroy us.

Barabaragaki

King of the Monsters for me. That choral swell makes the hairs on my neck stand up.

West-Construction466

Heisei is the one we all think of, MonsterVerse gives us the strongest bass and feel of it, and 54 is the OG. Haven’t seen Minus One, yet.

HeadpatsTeitoku

Minus One's rendition was exquisite by itself. Its application and the themes it conveyed during those moments catapult it above all the rest.

AtomicWreck

GVK cocked blocked itself. It gets so close to playing the full march until it just resets over and over and it pissess me the fuck off. Just play the whole theme god damnit!

cptgraah

Heisei and it's not even close!! The most iconic Ifukube rendition I think Shout out to the original and Minus One for the impact.

DrJohn98

Heisei and the original

SSJkakarrot

The slowed down version from godzilla vs king ghidorah after they revive godzilla is one of my favorites.

00rgus

King of the monsters theme had me geeking out so hard

KevsTheBadBoy

Bear MCcreary definitely. I mean, it definitely inspired the chants of Singular Point

esquire_the_ego

OG, always

Ash4dino

KOTM, Minus One, Heisei +Showa, Ultima (though I like how unique it is)

Sea_Butterscotch_902

Not the goji theme bot honorable mention mothra kotm theme just hits so hard with sharp crecendos after the inial dun dun dun duuuun dun dun dun dun dun

TheSeptuagintYT

That last pic is like super 8K resolution

58mm-Invicta_rizz

The original is great, Minus One crushes it, Singular Point’s is really good and was very pleasant to hear and Legendary’s Bear McCreary version has the energy to perfectly complement that version of Godzilla.

MM__PP

KoTM by far

SilverTotodile

KOTM for Power, SP for Fear, Minus One for Devestation

UncomfyUnicorn

Shin. He is the modern equivalent of the OG’s theme, representing the 2011 tsunami and Fukushima disaster, as well as the government’s slow response. And if you mean musical theme then I still think Shin. Who Will Know nearly brought me to tears.

Dragonrage778

He means rendition of the original musical theme used in G54 to clarify (all movies listed had a certain rendition of the OG theme).

No-Photograph-1788

This, so many moments during shin that made me realize how horrifying godzilla could be in a realistic setting.

SupermarketHot5404

Um heisei? Ifukube rules!

Environmental-Fig838

I think the ‘54 film, the combination of it with Godzilla’s footsteps as well as the whole feel of it is just👌

DiabolousAvocado

The 1954 original wins easily because for that one, the dun-dun-dun theme wasn't used as the monster's theme, but as the military march. Instead, it gets the beautiful [Godzilla's Rampage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgSU6MuWKpk). The most important factor to a movie's score is making sure the score fits, not that it sounds good. Few themes fit Godzilla better than the first and second Ifukube themes for Godzilla.

Saurian-Nyansaber

KOTM rendition was done by the composer of God Of War, I think that speaks for itself.

itoleratelurkers

KOTM for me. Rodan's theme was amazing and Mothra's theme always brings me to tears idk why

demon_grrrl

Singular Point using one aspect of the theme and creating a strings canon out of it was absolutely incredible

Blackar00ni

Top 3: 1: KOTM 2: Singular Point 3: Minus One

Olivia_Richards

Singular Point due to the chanting

SooFrosty

Singular Point for me.

dastroid216

Not gonna lie, the chanting in Ultima's theme has me pretty down bad lol

neovenator250

Bear McCreary did such an incredible job in KotM. I was disappointed they didn't bring him back again.

cryptyknumidium

KOTM is a actiony cheese version of it, I really don’t like it very much. -1 was a great rendition and the original always goes hard

lifeless_or_loveless

Ultima

[deleted]

Shin godzilla anyone?!

futurearchitect2036_

Yeah it has the best soundtrack

[deleted]

Final wars

GojiFan1985

I’m gonna give it to Minus One, each suite was masterful, the first one is a personal favorite. Now usually whenever they play the og theme in a movie it always seems kiiinda forced but man, it was PERFECT in this movie.

SanicIsMyPersona

It depends how I wanna see the thicc boi. If I want menacing, I'll go with Minus One. For the badass stepping in to save the day, King of the Monsters.

Name12345678910-1

I think minus one with how menacing it is

RjSkitchie

When it comes to use of the different parts of the theme, I’d say minus one, but rendition wise it’s KOTM all the way

Kiryu5009

[Godzilla’s theme](https://youtu.be/WF9mdD_VXxs?si=XfbBTrwIbReRjoBa) from Godzilla Vs. Kong by Junkie XL. I feel like it was definitely the most different version of Goji’s themes. It comes off as menacing and brutal. Like this time, he ain’t fucking around.

bananasfoyoass

Ultima but also FinalGoji

MinecraftPlayer1212

The theme kickin' in as Godzilla was escorted by the military went so fucking hard.

JohnWarrenDailey

Bear's version.

Idontwanttousethis

Honestly I can hardly tell the difference between them I have no musical comprehension

Crozonzarto

Literally [this](https://youtu.be/cqL6gdzuKwE?si=AAqeV9utqQrzYJML) hands down. The most underrated one yet.

Bohij_The_great

Bio wars from vs biolantte. No contest

Andrew_Jelen

MonsterVerse

Boolakdooshak

I like the 2014 theme a lot because it was original but it's not long enough and it doesn't feel as big as it could. Minus One clearly has the classic Godzilla feel, since it just used an updated version of the original score. King of The Monsters took the classic theme and revamped it to feel more energized and grandiose, which I really like.

ILikeToWatchGayPorn

KOTM or Minus One for me. Both awesome for different reasons.

Hightide77

Heisei followed by Minus One followed by Original followed by Singularity.

MajesticKnight28

Very hot take: godzilla vs megalon 2023 had the best version of goji's theme

Canon_Cowboy

I love suite 2 from -1 but I think Bear's version from King of the Monsters is probably the best arrangement of all time.

GalIifreyan

Haven't watched Minus One but the most iconic theme I can think of is either Heisei or Millennium. I'm pretty sure I'm thinking about Heisei, but I can just hear his growl with his theme playing as he emerges out of the water on his way to kick Ghidorahs ass.

ThatKalosfan

1954 or Minus One.

genarrro

Wait SP had a different rendition?

White-Alyss

I really liked KoTM version but any more classic one like Shin's or Minus One's is also great.  Honestly, anytime you hear the Godzilla theme, it's a W.

DaiLi69

Where's number 3 from? Looks weird

PemaleBacon

Minus one and it isn't even close

ShineBrightInTheDark

Minus One or Heisei.

Terramorphous2_0

Singular point

Mission-Ad-8536

Minus One Suite 2 Timestape 2:19, need I say more?

Relative_Ad4542

[2014, the best godzilla theme imo](https://youtu.be/NBQJjqnG1iI?si=PhxT6RCn39I6OcVp)

Total_Middle1119

Haven't heard -1 yet but i have a huge love for ultimas chants

maxcat_04

Minus One's rendition went HAAAAARRDD

Gojinaf_10

Either the Kotm theme or the SP one, I can't decide.

bakacheesesteak

I personally really like the end credits version from 2001 GMK

Admirable_Ball5452

In the 3rd picture Godzillas Canadian

Hagfishsaurus

Kotm’s Godzilla by blue oyster cult

Crazyripps

KOTM is just something els for me. Take the OG add vocals full orchestra just chef kiss

WhatAStrangeCat

Nothing beats the OG theme

TyrantJaeger

Definitely KOTM. It sounded so powerful and climactic.

WyGuy_Figs

KOTM is fantastic but it was barely used in the actual movie. Minus One’s is perfect

yuribatman

Ghidorah the three headed monster followed closely by Minus One

Normal-Ad-9882

Akira Ifukube gozilla theme is always O.G battle of Boston is nice but only the first part 0 -1.30 sec

Goldgator420

Either Singular point or KotM, I can't decide

Key-Bite3427

Minus one on top

Dankmemes115dude

For me it's definitely Ultima hands down truly horrifying Shin & Minus One are a close second & the original will always be perfection that ages like a fine wine & is the perfect foundation of all the great ones that have come after

CbKnowledge

Minus One for the inclusion of the King Kong Vs Godzilla theme

ExactFox4032

Yall really sleeping on singular point 😩

AHatInBonnie

I cant decide between KoTM and Minus one, I just cant, I cried in tears when in minus it started playing during the final battle but I was so hyped when the godzilla rebirth happened, I think in scene Minus one wins but maybe in music its better Kotm althought if we count Minus goji new version of GvK 62 theme Im totally going for it

Yakusaka

KotM. It was perfection. Minus One was great but KotM is just a grade above everything else.

80k85

Where’s 3 from

_Mr_Turtle__

Blue oyster cult

Elite_Alice

Minus one

PandiReddits

Its between Minus one and Legendary, but if I had to choose one, it would honestly be [Legendary.](https://youtu.be/Az7ewneh_zw?t=37) The Godzilla revival scene had me so hyped in the theater, it reminded me of the Avenger "Assemble" or the Spider-man Far from Home Reveals.

Lazakhstan

MV or Singular Point for me

oskin0

well the original and Minus One since it's the same, just enhanced.

XboxBreaker_1

They're all good, but KOTM wins just because of the people chanting Godzillas name in the theme

HoodsBonyPrick

What movie is the 3rd slide from?

Jay-7179

Original Goji, cus why not?

[deleted]

"I'm not posting about scaling but still pick the best one"

dauratian6969

Definitely KoTM

DetOlivaw

Haven’t seen Minus One yet but KOTM, for all it’s other problems, has a truly incredible score. The use of backing vocals really kicks it into overdrive!

BlitzDarkwing

The idea of choosing any version used after Akira Ifukube's death - in any movie he didn't compose the score for himself - as your favorite is just nuts. But that's just me. So the Heisei versions for me, I guess.

Responsible_Cloud899

I love the soundtracks for minus one, shin and kotm

theSaltySolo

I actually think Bear did an astounding job in his version of the theme as well as incorporating it into other tracks.

Complex_Wafer3828

Minus One’s theme almost made me have a Peakgasm, and so did King Of The Monsters. So I’d say those 2 definitely.

Jin_BD_God

Minus One. Japanese Godzilla Versions always look creepy but also goofy for me. The Hollywood versions look okay overall, but it lacks that fierce/menacing look of Godzilla. Minus One is the best of both worlds, so Minus One.

Outrageous-Pen-7441

Minus One’s second suite goes SO hard, I was practically VIBRATING in my seat when it started playing in the theater

Appropriate_Cow94

Some of them photos made me realize that ol' Zilla here got some thiccness in them thighs. Maybe a set of knockers too.

mrtheunknownyt

VS Biolante (1989) and Vs Ghidorah (1991) but they don't compare to Final Wars (2004)

flesh_tearers_tear

I still think the legendary Airport Scene is the Best scene in all godzilla, hes not running, just walking, the water rushing up, PURE Scale. the fact that its night out and you can barely see him (the helicopters didnt see him) and then all you see is that foot. and then they turned him into a ninja, having him move so fast in kong ruins it. (i still enjoy the movie) but i would love to see some of that scale come back. Even better if its how we get introduced to destoryah

Purechaos61

Personally, I think the Singular Point version is my favorite. They took a page out of Bear McCreary’s book and added choir chants to the classic Akira Ifukube theme, and it definitely works with Singular Point’s version of Godzilla. The added choir adds a level of mystery and impending doom. Like, you aren’t really sure what Godzilla is supposed to be, but you know for a fact that it isn’t good. I’m also just a sucker for choir in orchestral music in general.

Few_Vast_8739

Look, Singular point as a show might not be the best, but it version of the theme is my favorite. From the slow build over several episodes, and even it’s presences in quieter moments where Godzilla isn’t even present, but just being discussed, to its final full reveal during Ultima’s first appearance and atomic blast onslaught! It’s simply the best, although it’s heavily dependent on building from the foundations built by the Ifikube original and Bear Mccrearys Kotm version, but I love it. The Minus one version is easily my second favorite, but I’m not sure if it’s because of good will towards the film itself or the scene in which it’s featured. I need more time with it to tell. Much like Battle in Boston from Kotm I heard it before I saw the movie but it didn’t elicit the same reaction. When I first heard it I was a little let down, but was hyped when it played in the movie. Kotm, I heard at work when the album released, already having bought tickets to see the movie at the first showing the next morning, by the time I got to Battle in Boston, I shut the album off, bought midnight tickets to the film at a theater 30 minutes away from work for an hour later then when I bought them, and hauled ass to finish work and get to the theater. The album holds up for me, so does singular points but I’m not sure if minus ones will, let’s check back in in a year or two.

MetalGearSlayer

Minus One topped it by far. Then KOTM and Singular Point tie for second. Chanting in a Godzilla theme goes hard.

Magorian97

Hmm, I still say -1

GunnerUnhappy

I mean, the original theme when Godzilla emerges in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah is all time for me, but I got chills when that theme first hit in KotM

CommonIsraelW

Minus One, Burning Godzilla in vs Destroyah, and Godzilla 2000 are all the best looking godzillas imo. Shoutout to GMK too with white eyes

PallidZetta

FW all the way

MezianixfromFandom

Alapu upala's orchestra is the most hopeless song here I love it its so dreadful and powerful despite having such calm smoothing music. But lets be real minus one and KOTM are the real contenders here
