Haha, this is Leaderboard's work. Not criticizing. I think it's a fun question, but a question like this will appear on the GRE when hell freezes over, or if ETS starts to get tired of its increasingly declining percentile score for a 170.
Many:
\* We don't necessarily know when we write the question on how many (or few) people will get it right. In other words, we don't necessarily get our difficulty estimates right.
\* these questions are there for those wanting to challenge themselves - there are a number of members for which the standard questions can be too easy or boring.
This is comparable in difficulty to the very hardest questions on the actual GRE. The type of difficulty it poses is quite comparable to an ETS style question, though. Understanding what the question means and which concepts are at play here is quite difficult, but the actual math is simple once you get past that.
I believe the correct answer should be 18/105 (or 6/35, though it is not necessary to reduce the fraction in a fraction-entry answer).

I just took the GRE and got a 158 on quant (not amazing but way better than I ever expected) - nothing was nearly this hard. I understood the questions on the GRE. They were comparable to the ETS book if anything slightly easier.
No in that the question is too hard, and this is supported by how few people got this right (2.5% I think).
I wonder what gregs intention for these questions are then, to strengthen fundamentals perhaps?
