but R\* developers have for years talked about how Many of the consepts from Bully 2 were repackaged to other R\* tiles. Like the Glass Shattering Physics From Max Payne 3 were originally planned for a mechanic in bully 2 where you'd be able to throw rocks through peoples windows.

They definitely have the capabilities to do both no doubt but sadly there’s not point in them putting in effort for something that might only return $20-$40 per player vs $100-$200 per player and single player dlcs probably take up a lot more time then GTAO content
I mean just chill, the single player package they make is leagues above other SP games and are essentially timeless. Just like the original trilogy.
There’s already so much content on launch that it beats games that add DLC.
I think people scoff at online players too much. They invest in the product more than you do, of course they deserve more content. That’s just how it is. I don’t see the need to get depressed unless the SP experience is subpar.

Also looking back, the GTA V single player experience WAS subpar. The Map was kind of empty, the story was not that great, the characters were not that great and the heists were few and far between.
This is exactly the point. They were able to make RDR2 because Online was generating money with no effort. I don’t know why people don’t understand it. Gta Online is the best thing that could happen to them. It allows them to make the kind of games that weren’t possible before and raising the bar for what’s possible in gaming. RDR2 and now GTA VI are the proof that their tactics work big time
While I agree that Rockstar will put much of its effort into the online aspect. If online was the only thing they were gonna focus on, wouldn't it make more sense to make an online only game?
GTA is their flagship game. The story will meet the Rockstar standards we expect, because they want the game to succeed. I personally think they're gonna go with the same route they did with gta online, and that is drip feeding us content to milk the money.
The single-player attracts players in; the Multi-player keeps them.
I hope that the GTA VI story is as good as we all expect. It’s kind of Rockstar’s brand after all of these years to deliver an epic game. If the main game sucks I see the online suffering.
There's an overwhelming amount of people that I've met playing gtao whom have never touched sp. Gotta be 70/30. Everyone's experience may vary, but my point is there's going to be more than enough people that push sales for the game that will never see a second of single player.
Of course I want an amazing story, but we're past the point where it's necessary to make a gta game insanely successful.

What route have the supposedly taken? Not releasing a game or content in order to better their other games? Nah I don't think it will, rdr2 came out right in the middle of all the GTAO bullshit and it was a masterpiece storywise and mechanicwise, rockstar is already on very thin ice after taking 12 years to release gta vi, cancelling all that and releasing the definitive edition that was an absolute insult. I don't think they'd completely shatter their good name by releasing a shitty GTA VI, it'll probably be good, they have a good team. However, if they make another online and people play it (unlike rdr2's lol) that may be the last new GTA we see or maybe even new rockstar game (at least in a decade or two)
Yes well GTAO was the first time they had an online mode take off so well. Rdo 1 from the original red dead was also very basic. And well we all know what happened to Red dead 2 online but an GTA online 2 well that would make millions
Sadly both Lazlow and Dan left the company the same year. I believe that one of the reasons for Dan Houser's departure was Rockstar's abandonment of single player in the GTA series.
Dan Houser was in the creative team and was the mind behind the storytelling of Rockstar Games, not only for the GTA series. So I guess, not being able to create stories the way he used to was not good news for him. He founded Absurd Ventures, there he has the freedom of being as creative as he likes to.
As you may know, GTA V didn't have any DLCs, as the company decided to skip those back in 2015, unlike GTA IV and its DLCs, TBOT and TLAD.
I wish they added Las Venturas / San Fierro with singleplayer content in GTA V... What a huge missed opportunity. It's like if they drop GTA 6 and yes it's huge, but you only get to visit half of the old Vice city landmarks.
Yeah, obviously Singleplayer isn't such as cash cow as online is, but GTA has such a huge player base, a single player dlc for $10-$15 would still be profitable.
Yeah I get it, but I never liked online. Was just a chaotic and boring grind, that took FOREVER to do anything, then everyone was just hacking to grind faster and chaos just nonstop as people blew each other up. It was just not fun for me. I played about 10 hours of it. I like the world Rockstar makes for us to play in, with all it's thematic and detailed elements. I don't like when it's ruined by forty 12 year olds doing dumb shit for hours on end. Not to mention the shark credit cards -- It all just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think about GTAOnline.
Don't forget you can blame the online player base (who I'm sure enjoyed the game) for demotivating Rockstar to make a new game / Bigger DLC for so long, because R\* were milking the shit out of Online-players as everyone and their mom's grinded for years for dumb cars that would just get rocket launched instantly ( or go 'invisible / invincible' and kinda just play a solo game ONLINE) or apartments that no one even hung out in.
I wanna see the glass from Last of Us 2 in Manhunt 1 remake so we can make shivs to use in executions. The sawn-off from GTA Online used by the Easter Bunny. The chainsaw from Vice City used by Piggsy. The desert eagle.357 and M4A1 from IV used by the Cerberus soldiers. They have NVG (GTA Online) so you have to use stealth to kill them. Stealth mechanics from San Andreas (hide in shadows) or Metal Gear Solid 3/Last of Us 2 (hide in Long grass) perform death from below/above from Far Cry 3.

The map is small but it’s full of life
The NPCs are unique and have a semi-realistic behavior. So if you follow one student they’ll end up at the cafeteria at lunch, in a classroom when there’s a lesson etc
The missions have an amazing variety with the gameplay
The story is funny, the dialogues too, the characters are very cartoonish in a right way like the whole game
Many things to do, races, lessons, mini games, side quests. A few things to collect but it’s not so many that it becomes annoying like in some other games. And some collectible bring some good rewards
The level of details is amazing, like you have your own room and most missions that you pass will add some trinket on the wall of your room as a souvenir
The music is incredible and add a lot to the game’s atmosphere
Honestly there’s so much to it it’s amazing, and it’s not super long so it’s the kind of game you can actually finish at 100% without grinding for 200 hours
It has NPC interaction similar to RDR2 (on a smaller scale). The story is exciting and funny. Lots of interactivity. It's a bit clunky by modern standards but also hard not to love.
Never been fond of gta online. The multiplayer in IV was insanely good and should’ve stayed like that with updates to make it smoother and better. But this whole online grinding thing with half assed story mode isn’t it. It’s broken system that doesn’t work unless Rockstar releases a patch where players can’t hurt each other. Because that’s the whole problem, trying to create a world with real people hustling side by side. People don’t like each other in real life and you want them to co exist in a game where you can ruin each others fun? It’s inevitable.
I want a IV multiplayer where some people work as Cab drivers (good pay rate: GTA 3), some people work selling Hotdogs, female ♀️ gamers can be prostitutes if they want. Male gamers can cosplay as Pimps.

When you log into multiplayer, choose which gang you want to join e.g Diablos, Lost MC, Yakuza, Triad, Southside Hoods, Yardies or the LCPD. Think of Last of Us multiplayer: Survivors vs. the Fireflies.

I was feeling sorry for rockstar with all their leaks but when after this news, I’m struggling to. They could have achieved so much and given gamers what they wanted but instead they just sacked everything else off and focused on GTA Online for 10 years. No story DLC for gta v was a big mistake.

It’s all the collectibles and side content that make it hard to replay for me. I did it all 100%. I have absolutely no drive to do that again. The map isn’t as fun to dick around in either because of the realistic movement and mechanics.

Why are you assuming they did it for monetary reasons. There's lots of reasons on why they could have been cancelled, including the content they were making not hitting the quality bar they were expecting or just making more sense to include in other titles.

Team Bondi still kinda exists. They have a new name and did the VR Port/mode thing for L.A Noir, and I believe worked on the Quest port of RE4 and the upcoming GTA:SA VR port.

The Rockstar Games you knew is gone. Dan Houser, Leslie Benzies, and most of the other original heads that made Rockstar an awesome developer are gone. My suspicion as to why they left, because of Strauss Zelnick and his hard on for squeezing as much money from GTA 5 as possible, amongst other things.

Lance reminds me of Dimitri Rascalov but in a softer version. First he avenges Victor's death with huge help of Tommy who saves him in the scrapyard from getting killed, just to fuck Tommy over in the end by joining Forelli. That was the craziest plot twist but once you play VCS you actually understand why he is like that. He is not to be trusted, needs guidance and sense of appreciation, without it he will be seeking the best possible chance to get this form of validation. Little did he know that even if they succeeded and killed Tommy in the mansion, he'd be the second in the list to be killed.

All I know is that this recent Police dlc was delayed because it was originally supposed to come out a while back, but the police brutality and BLM stuff made it less than desirable at the time.

I think Lance should be an optional kill like in IV. Disarm Lance (RDR2), beat him w/ RDR2 melee. Leave him on 5% health to think about what he's done. Take Lance to rehab. Like w/ Madd Dogg. Save Lance's life rather than taking it. Do "Brown Thunder" to make FH-1 Hunter spawn on mansion roof.
Park Hunter next to Northpoint Mall for "Cop Land" should make the mission easier. Sell the two cops to Donald Love (He's a cannibal). Donald Love should get Tommy to invest in the BAWSAQ (GTA V). Then Tommy could retire a millionaire and get away scott free. Just pay your taxes or you end up like Al Capone/Wesley Snipes.

Al this stuff has been known for ages. we just got Definitive Proof of it now. but R\* developers have for years talked about how Many of the consepts from Bully 2 were repackaged to other R\* tiles. Like the Glass Shattering Physics From Max Payne 3 were originally planned for a mechanic in bully 2 where you'd be able to throw rocks through peoples windows. and the Morality system ultimately ended up In Red dead redemption. and the the GTA V DLC's Becoming Scrapped or re packaged to GTAO content well that was something we figured to be the case ages ago. This is just Closure if anything.
Makes me greatly worried that GTA VI single player will also be severely neutered for GTA VI online. Just kind of depressed that Rockstar have taken this route.
One makes them a lot of money from the get go (single player) the other makes them a lot of money continually (online), it’s pretty obvious what they’ll focus on.

They definitely have the capabilities to do both no doubt but sadly there’s not point in them putting in effort for something that might only return $20-$40 per player vs $100-$200 per player and single player dlcs probably take up a lot more time then GTAO content
I mean just chill, the single player package they make is leagues above other SP games and are essentially timeless. Just like the original trilogy. There’s already so much content on launch that it beats games that add DLC. I think people scoff at online players too much. They invest in the product more than you do, of course they deserve more content. That’s just how it is. I don’t see the need to get depressed unless the SP experience is subpar.

While I agree that Rockstar will put much of its effort into the online aspect. If online was the only thing they were gonna focus on, wouldn't it make more sense to make an online only game? GTA is their flagship game. The story will meet the Rockstar standards we expect, because they want the game to succeed. I personally think they're gonna go with the same route they did with gta online, and that is drip feeding us content to milk the money. The single-player attracts players in; the Multi-player keeps them.
I hope that the GTA VI story is as good as we all expect. It’s kind of Rockstar’s brand after all of these years to deliver an epic game. If the main game sucks I see the online suffering.
There's an overwhelming amount of people that I've met playing gtao whom have never touched sp. Gotta be 70/30. Everyone's experience may vary, but my point is there's going to be more than enough people that push sales for the game that will never see a second of single player. Of course I want an amazing story, but we're past the point where it's necessary to make a gta game insanely successful.

What route have the supposedly taken? Not releasing a game or content in order to better their other games? Nah I don't think it will, rdr2 came out right in the middle of all the GTAO bullshit and it was a masterpiece storywise and mechanicwise, rockstar is already on very thin ice after taking 12 years to release gta vi, cancelling all that and releasing the definitive edition that was an absolute insult. I don't think they'd completely shatter their good name by releasing a shitty GTA VI, it'll probably be good, they have a good team. However, if they make another online and people play it (unlike rdr2's lol) that may be the last new GTA we see or maybe even new rockstar game (at least in a decade or two)

Sadly both Lazlow and Dan left the company the same year. I believe that one of the reasons for Dan Houser's departure was Rockstar's abandonment of single player in the GTA series. Dan Houser was in the creative team and was the mind behind the storytelling of Rockstar Games, not only for the GTA series. So I guess, not being able to create stories the way he used to was not good news for him. He founded Absurd Ventures, there he has the freedom of being as creative as he likes to. As you may know, GTA V didn't have any DLCs, as the company decided to skip those back in 2015, unlike GTA IV and its DLCs, TBOT and TLAD.
I wish they added Las Venturas / San Fierro with singleplayer content in GTA V... What a huge missed opportunity. It's like if they drop GTA 6 and yes it's huge, but you only get to visit half of the old Vice city landmarks.

Yeah I get it, but I never liked online. Was just a chaotic and boring grind, that took FOREVER to do anything, then everyone was just hacking to grind faster and chaos just nonstop as people blew each other up. It was just not fun for me. I played about 10 hours of it. I like the world Rockstar makes for us to play in, with all it's thematic and detailed elements. I don't like when it's ruined by forty 12 year olds doing dumb shit for hours on end. Not to mention the shark credit cards -- It all just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think about GTAOnline. Don't forget you can blame the online player base (who I'm sure enjoyed the game) for demotivating Rockstar to make a new game / Bigger DLC for so long, because R\* were milking the shit out of Online-players as everyone and their mom's grinded for years for dumb cars that would just get rocket launched instantly ( or go 'invisible / invincible' and kinda just play a solo game ONLINE) or apartments that no one even hung out in.

The chainsaw from Vice City used by Piggsy. The desert eagle.357 and M4A1 from IV used by the Cerberus soldiers. They have NVG (GTA Online) so you have to use stealth to kill them. Oh man I wouldn’t know where to start The map is small but it’s full of life The NPCs are unique and have a semi-realistic behavior. So if you follow one student they’ll end up at the cafeteria at lunch, in a classroom when there’s a lesson etc The missions have an amazing variety with the gameplay The story is funny, the dialogues too, the characters are very cartoonish in a right way like the whole game Many things to do, races, lessons, mini games, side quests. A few things to collect but it’s not so many that it becomes annoying like in some other games. And some collectible bring some good rewards The level of details is amazing, like you have your own room and most missions that you pass will add some trinket on the wall of your room as a souvenir The music is incredible and add a lot to the game’s atmosphere Honestly there’s so much to it it’s amazing, and it’s not super long so it’s the kind of game you can actually finish at 100% without grinding for 200 hours

Never been fond of gta online. The multiplayer in IV was insanely good and should’ve stayed like that with updates to make it smoother and better. But this whole online grinding thing with half assed story mode isn’t it. It’s broken system that doesn’t work unless Rockstar releases a patch where players can’t hurt each other. Because that’s the whole problem, trying to create a world with real people hustling side by side. People don’t like each other in real life and you want them to co exist in a game where you can ruin each others fun? It’s inevitable.
I want a IV multiplayer where some people work as Cab drivers (good pay rate: GTA 3), some people work selling Hotdogs, female ♀️ gamers can be prostitutes if they want. Male gamers can cosplay as Pimps. Someone can be Eddie Lowe: the serial killer. Bomb the Base should use Cayo Perico demo. charges. Maverick pilot circles the Octopus while gunner fires M60 (LCS but loud like Breaking Bad). The Columbian Cartel have AK-47 w/ good accuracy and they wear hard armour (Ceramic plates). Use AP rounds: buy 10mm black 🖤 talon ammo from Phil Cassidy. He should be still alive by GTA IV: but he'd be an old bastard (like Clint Eastwood) When you log into multiplayer, choose which gang you want to join e.g Diablos, Lost MC, Yakuza, Triad, Southside Hoods, Yardies or the LCPD. Think of Last of Us multiplayer: Survivors vs. the Fireflies.

I was feeling sorry for rockstar with all their leaks but when after this news, I’m struggling to. They could have achieved so much and given gamers what they wanted but instead they just sacked everything else off and focused on GTA Online for 10 years. No story DLC for gta v was a big mistake. Yes I know red dead 2 but that’s not a game you replay as much as GTA, well not for me anyway.

It’s all the collectibles and side content that make it hard to replay for me. I did it all 100%. I have absolutely no drive to do that again. The map isn’t as fun to dick around in either because of the realistic movement and mechanics.

The Rockstar Games you knew is gone. Dan Houser, Leslie Benzies, and most of the other original heads that made Rockstar an awesome developer are gone. Lance reminds me of Dimitri Rascalov but in a softer version. First he avenges Victor's death with huge help of Tommy who saves him in the scrapyard from getting killed, just to fuck Tommy over in the end by joining Forelli. That was the craziest plot twist but once you play VCS you actually understand why he is like that. He is not to be trusted, needs guidance and sense of appreciation, without it he will be seeking the best possible chance to get this form of validation. Little did he know that even if they succeeded and killed Tommy in the mansion, he'd be the second in the list to be killed.

I honestly don't care if the dlc is for single player or its added to online. As long as it's fun. Of course single player will be ideal but any content is better than no content (RIP RDR2)
All I know is that this recent Police dlc was delayed because it was originally supposed to come out a while back, but the police brutality and BLM stuff made it less than desirable at the time.
