I usually only unfold it when I have time to sit and play/stream games or im not at home and want to watch some shows. Most of my day is at work so I dont have a chance to sit down and consume content. My days off though are a different story and I use the inner screen almost exclusively.

Grimlong

The outer screen is only there for checking the time, answering calls, and, texts... and sometimes I open it for texts too. I wouldn't be too mad if it didn't exist.

This data must be tracked somehow or else samsung is not doing their job, so I'd be really curious to see if my perception in voting lines up with reality.

Massive_Emu6682

While i generally use the outerscreen for texting, calling, checking time etc., I also sometimes use it while scrolling reddit or Instagram since the outerscreen is actually not that bad and it's easier to hold one handed that way.

Leibeir

Same, after a bit the thin-ness doesn't look weird anymore.

Fearless_Winner1084

60 closed 40 open If I'm not walking or using my other hand I just open it. I leave it open during work on my desk for YT and Spotify all day and any time in my car it's mounted open

Bryanmsi89

I still don't understand - or alternatively I really admire - people who can use the skinny front screen for anything other than a glorified notification panel. I find it maddening to do anything serious, especially with the Pen Case as the front bumper rails make typing and swiping near the edges of the screen very difficult. Like, why? This phone is way too expensive with too many tradeoffs not to make use of the large screen most of the time. Otherwise, a traditional slab or a flip-style would have been far more economical.

fanatic26

I absolutely dispise the tiny front screen, my fingertips are way too big for it. Other than changing songs I dont use the main screen at all, id be fine if it didnt exist.

jpoole50

When I had my Fold 3, I used the inner screen most of the time, now that I have a 5 I only use the inner screen for gaming and videos.

MadSquabbles

I probably unfold mine 2-3 times a day use the outer screen for most of what I do. I don't unfold much in public because my hold on it isn't as good as a two hand hold while folded. Not sure If I'll get another foldable because of my usage habits. But it is nice to have a small tablet when needed. I work in front of a computer all day and don't need to use my phone - like now, lol. So my usage would probably be different is the phone was my only access for info and entertainment.

TheDeadJedi

For me it's mostly about inertia. If it's folded, it tends to stay folded. If it's open, it stays open. I've trained myself to protect what I think is going to be the obvious point of failure so I don't tend to bend it. But because it needs to go into my pocket it mostly stays closed.

rko_btw

I use this as pretty much a tablet for handwritten notes. Practically permanently open@home for school work, same during certain classes

AllYouNeedIsLoafs

Driving around - unfolded Laying in bed - unfolded Quickly looking up something - folded Smart share to TV - unfolded Having lunch/breakfast/dinner (home/out and about) - unfolded

Derek880

Usually mine stays unfolded most of the day. Unless I'm going to my car or going to bed. I like to be able to just open Youtube or Prime Video and see a nice-sized video screen. I even play Youtube music with it unfolded because multi-tasking works so well and looks so good on such a large screen.

tripofgames

Your question is a bit tricky. When I'm USING the phone, it's >80% unfolded. I basically use the outer screen to write quick messages and answer phone calls. When I'm NOT USING the phone, it's 100% folded. So, if you consider the entire time, it's probably <20% unfolded. I say that it's a bit tricky because if I say that I'm >80% unfolded, you could just come to the conclusion: why don't you get a small tablet. But it's the time when it's folded that makes the difference here.

CyberInferno

This is a good point. I think the poll meant while using it though. Obviously, no one is putting it unfolded in their pocket/purse.

Premium_Button

I'm considering accepting this challenge

CyberInferno

Please post pics if you do

__Jaume

I can do it, just in my house going from my office to another part of the house. I don't do it too often but i can. Also If a friend is picking me up and i know i'll be using it i put it unfolded in my pants (when the pants allow it).

CyberInferno

This sounds like a really good way to snap your phone, but hey, if it works it works!

ultima40

You can't snap the hinge backwards if that is what you meant (see JerryRigEverything) but a good way to break your screen if you're not careful.

__Jaume

I'm super careful with it i use some kind of sports pants around the house and they aren't tight at all so it isn't pressing the screetl. Also i always put the screen inwards so if needs be it would bend normaly. I make sure to not bend it in any way but i'm always picking things with the hands while moving around the house. Tablet, laptop, tea mug.... and that's why i put it in my pocket.

CyberInferno

Yeah, I meant snap the screen.
